MARI'S CATPOURRI



One of my biggest dreams came true on May 23rd 1998, (Other than marrying my wonderful husband! and getting a second shot at life!).
I've always wanted to go to a shelter and pick out a nice kitty. I love shelter cats, and really wanted to adopt a couple of cats from a shelter. They need homes so badly! So we went to a shelter called Pets, Inc. in Columbia, SC.


One year old Lily came first, with our little guardian angel kitty named Hootie. We adopted them the same day in May of 1998, and Hootie and Lily just totally won us over! Hootie was a grey/silver tabby, and Lily is a brown tortoiseshell/calico. We lost Hootie to heart disease on July 5, 1998. We didn't have him for long but he just totally won our hearts, and we'll always miss our boy! We know that we gave him the best 6 weeks of his life, and he's at Rainbow's Bridge waiting for us.
 Lily was so lonely without him, that we went back to the same shelter and adopted Boki & Maya about a week later in July 1998.

Maya is a one year old black oriental shorthair mix (we think she's actually a purebred), and Boki is about 2 years old and is a orange/white british shorthair mix. They fit right into our family and it took Lily about a month to accept them both but we're all one big happy family now! I'll be putting up pictures of our babies very soon.
