Congrats to Alex Earl who was named to the First Team All-Academic KWCA Wrestling Team
The Vikings finshed off the season with a 29th place finish at State. Brock Gentry became a state placer, as he finished 6th at 112. Ryan Wingers and Ben Keck also had wins in Wichita. Congrats to all the state qualifiers.
The Vikings are sending 5 to the state tournament this coming weekend. Here are your qualifiers.
103:Chase Kroenlein (5-18) vs. Donny Altmon Derby (32-2)
112:Brock Gentry (32-7) vs. Josh Wetta WNW (28-6)
152:Jack Kapaun (13-20) vs. Kyle Reglin OLS (24-9)
160:Ryan Wingers (25-13) vs. Luke Hentzen Maize (14-11)
171:Ben Keck (7-7) vs. Jed Mamie STA (32-7)
The Varsity Vikings finished 10th at the Sunflower League Tournament. Brock Gentry took home a League Championship, while Billy Le finshed 6th, Alex Earl 4th, Jack Kapaun 4th, Kurt Webster 5th (coin flip), and Ben Keck 5th.
West wrestlers finished up their dual season (5-9)with a split. The Vikings fell to Lawrence, but swept the Shawnee Mission Schools with a victory over Northwest.
The Vikings are happy to announce that they will be traveling to the Pittsburg Dual Tournament in Pittsburg, KS next year. Teams attending are Pittsburg, Blue Valley North, Bixby(OKlahoma), Labette County, Parsons and Diamond (Missouri).
