The only child of Mr. and Mrs. Invader of the alien Oni, Lum was sent to Earth to compete in a three-day game of Onigokko (Oni's game, or tag). The prize was the Earth itself, the unlucky opponent to be determined at random. And there's no Earthling unluckier than Ataru Moroboshi, with whom she fell madly in love after he won the match.
