Bring a friend!
As we approach the start of the new season, we need to do a little bit of recruiting and secure possibly 3-5 new players. Therefore we need to spread the word about the club and try if you can to bring along a friend who you think might be interested. This is essential, particularly for the benefit of the ressies.

Despite finishing the campaign with an 8-1 win, Loxwood were unable to progress to the latter stages of the Summer League tournament where they have finished at beaten finalists for the last two years running.
Liam Cattigan was the pick of the players on show with a hat-rick.

Outrage in Walford
HMTR? Roving reporters Mark Broomfield and Colin Simmons have produced this report for the Walford Gazette....
Walford Exclusive Local football hero Trevor the Wife Beater has been questioned by Police over allegations that he has been knocking about his bird Little Mo.
Trevor seen above had been arrested yesterday and brought in for questioning, over allegations that he hadn’t been paying his match day subs. Chief fraud inspector Brian Smith who had gathered all the evidence and was the arresting officer was unavailale to comment yesterday.
Known through out the force as ‘The Collector’ Inspector smith and his deputy Lincoln are believed to be currently on suspension.
Due to allegations from ‘Trevor’ that Brian Smith and Lincoln had kept all the players Money and have been spending it on holiday Villas in the Costa Del Crime.
Club official Jack Gill will be making a press announcement at the clubs ground Laurel Park latter today.

Reserves promoted!
Reserve team manager Peter Borrett (pictured) was said to be delighted by the league's decision to elevate his side to Division 3 East by virtue of their impressive fifth place finish in Division 4 last season. Borrett said:" Obviously I'm ecstatic about the promotion from what was a very competetive league. This season will be a challenge but with the players we have on board I am sure we are up to the demands of division 3. I'll be making sure that my players are ready, especially Manktelow who thinks he's getting out of pre season just because he's a keeper!"

Loxwood goalkeeper and first team skipper has this week been the subject of some intense transfer speculation. Sources from premier league side Calcot have indicated that they would be interested in signing the influencial stopper and have claimed:"he would be a VERY big signing for us".

International stardom has finally reached the delights of Lower Earley as this Wednesday afternoon Laurel Park will be graced by the legend himself, the one and only Trevor Brooking. Be there with L.P.R shorts and socks.

Unfortunately Simon Mellor has to go under the knife again after doctors revealed he needs an operation on his cruciate ligament. Get well soon Si.

On Friday Jason and Brian Smith are meeting Wokingham District Council to put to them the idea of us having a permanent floodlit training facility at Laurel Park. If you have any ideas or suggestions about the floodlights or ways to raise funds for them, then let them know.

This week see's the launch of the latest edition of How Many Times Referee? Hopefully this should have corrected the problems people were experiencing accessing the message board in Netscape. However the site is still best viewed through Internet explorer which you can download for free at microsoft.com.
As always if you have any problems using the site or you have noticed any deliberate errors please let me know. Except that the player profiles haven't been updated. I know about that already.

Simon Mellor's knee injury is progressing well and should allow him to return before the end of the season. Dave Clyde should be back soon after Christmas and Nomir Ahmed will be back from a 3 month long wedding early in January.

Tim Foster has been farmed out on loan to Socceroos side Sydney for four months. Reports suggest it may be with a view to a permanant transfer if he can secure a work permit.
