This is only part of a game!

The Oldenburg was originally bred as a coach horse, and it is the heaviest of the German Warmbloods. Careful breeding has helped eradicate coach-horse characteristics such as upright shoulders and a long back, though some modern Oldenburgs retain the rather high knee action of their ancestors. Refinement of the breed has been brought about through the introduction of Throughbred and Selle Francais blood, making the present-day Oldenburg an oustanding sports horse. Oldenburg horses excel at dressage and show jumping and are exported to many countries. They have proved particularly popular in the United States.
