![]() Captain:As the overall leader and head of the team, this person is responsible for organizing and leading meetings, creating agendas, informing others about important events and dates, working with divisional leaders, being aware of the needs and concerns of the team, providing for those needs, developing schedules to be followed, keeping members on task, mediating problems and conflicts, and making sure jobs are completed well and on time. The captain is also the foremost representative of the team and must work as a liaison between the students and the parents/advisors. Co-Captain: This person shares the same responsibilities as the Captain and is equal to him or her in all respects, but final decisions rest with the Captain. The Co-Captain, as the right-hand of the Captain, has the additional duty of informing the Captain of any problems occurring within the team or consequences in decisions that have not yet been foreseen. When the Captain is unable to perform a necessary task, the Co-Captain may perform that responsibility to keep the team organized and smoothly running. In the event that the Captain can no longer maintain his or her position, the Co-Captain should be their ideal replacement. Component Leaders: As the main people in charge of the design, construction, and testing of the different components of the robot, they must work with the Captain to develop a design and building schedule for the robot, help to train new members, be aware of the materials, tools, and funds necessary for the completion of the robot, ensure building tasks are completed on time, inform other leaders of the robot’s progress, and collaborate among themselves on designs, blueprints, and materials. When the testing phase begins, the Component Leaders is also in charge of any necessary modifications, repairs, or redesigns of the robot. Webmaster: This person is the one foremost in charge of maintaining the team's website throughout the year, allowing team members to have universal access to team information, such as meeting times, agendas, locations, and minutes to allow increased communication within the team. The Webmaster also has the important duty of maintaining a clean and functional site, allowing potential corporate sponsors and other robotics teams access to information about the team. Animation Leader: The job of this divisional leader is to guide the animation division in developing a complete 30 second animation that reflects the functions of the robot and the values of the team as a whole. He or she is responsible for creating schedules with the Captain for the developmet of storylines, storyboards, models, characters, and final scenes. He or she is to ensure the completion of all necessary tasks, to maintain a constant communication with all animation division members, and to lead and organize all animation division meetings. Fundraising Leader: This person is responsible for the funding and publicity of the team. He or she is encouraged to find partnerships that can benefit both the robot and the team of 2002, while developing funds that can later assist the team of 2003. The Fundraising leader must oversee the collaboration between the parents and students on finding sponsorships, the development of brochures and fundraising packets, the scheduling and coordination of presentations before corporate representatives, and the organization of small fund-raisers throughout the year.
