Evolution: The First Amphibians Frogs are amphibians (kingdom Amphibia). This kingdom evolved approximately 370 million years ago during the Devonian Preiod from fish. It is believed that they evolved from a type of fish called a Tetrapod, which had four "limbs". The earliest known amphibian is Ichthyostega. Its remains were first discovered in East Greenland. Next
