John Huiett is living proof of God's life changing power. "Honestly, I should have ended up or in jail," laments John. "If not for the grace of God I would be." At thirty years old, John has been playing guitar and writing songs for thirteen years, performing in his first band at the age of twelve. Loving the aggression and shock value of heavy metal, John went the route of head banging hard to develop his craft. Although surrounded by Godly influence through a Christ centered mother and family, John quickly fell into the n roll lifestyle. By his senior year in high school John was a veteran of , LSD, , and . After chasing stardom in Los Angeles and Nashville, John settled in Atlanta, where on I-85 outside of the city he knelt in his car and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. "It was like God just reached down from heaven and grabbed my attention," says John. "My life was a mess and at that point I knew Jesus was who he claimed to be. I had no more excuses." Soon after, John attempted to apply his Christian beliefs to the secular music scene, extensively playing the club circuit and writing, recording, and releasing two full-length albums with the bands Mind's Eye and House of Euphoria. But in 1995, John knew he had to quit riding the fence. Feeling the call of ministry on his life he joined Arc, a touring Christian youth ministry. While in Arc, his band played to over of a quarter of a million teenagers. Ten thousand of them came to faith in Christ. John sees Evidence as a viable ministry as well, and he is excited to be able to use his talents as a guitar player, songwriter, and public speaker for the Lord through Evidence. A Journalism major at the University of South Carolina, John is also a freelance writer.
