This award has little to do with nautical skills and more to do with how to manage an organization. We get plenty of nautical training in the many aspects of our program, but this is the only management course approved for our leaders.Basically, it's a management by objective training course. You learn how to ascertain the program problem areas and define your objectives. You then must learn how to best reach your new goals. You also need to review your progress and make any appropriate changes along the way.
This course is about a week long and may include a homework assignment usually in the form of an essay.
