PERIODIC PROPERTIES

The nature of chemicals follows a somewhat repeated pattern. Just as a sine or cosine funciton repeats itself continuously. For a sine or cosine function, the time it takes for the function to start repeating itself is called a period. Early chemists found that chemicals behave similarly according to thier atomic number, or number of protons. PERIODIC PROPERITIES are chemical and physical properties which repeat themselves regularly as you go down a group or across a period.
