A new Ironman race has been added to the race schedule for 1999! The same group that puts on the popular Ironman Canada race is putting on the new Ironman USA. The race will take place at Lake Placid, New York on August 15, 1999. If you want in, you better submit an application soon because they will be handed out at Ironman World Championships and all 1500 spots could be gone by the end of October. In addition, the accomodations are going quickly as well. There's is an Ironman USA (IM-USA) e-mail list you can join if interested. Currently Tommy Lydon and Chip James have already been accepted to compete from the Palmetto State Triathlon Association (any other members please e-mail chipjames@hotmail.com if you've gotten in).
Ironman Hawaii is finally here. Check out a number of new sites that are up for tracking the race on race day. The"live" links are available from the Races section of the Other Links page. A number of PSTA club members have been closing out the season with some strong racing, including "going long" in 1/2 ironman or ironman distance races. See the links below for information and results.
