My name is Michelle Harrold. I'm 19 years old and I am now in college at Clemson University. I'm in General Engineering and I have to declare at the end of this semester. It's either going to be Chemical Engineering or Polymer and Textile Chemistry. I think they'd both be fun. Chemical is very difficult, and Polymer has a lot scholarships. I'm busting my butt to keep my GPA up to keep my scholarships. When I'm not doing homework, my roommate and I try to find things to do. She's never here on the weekends, so I usually do homework all weekend. Sometimes I hang out with a few people I'm friends with in the building.
Last semester I marched in TIGER BAND. It was a lot of fun, but it came with a lot of drama. We got a new director, Dr. Spede, and a lot of people just didn't see eye to eye, much less the lack of communication and/or miscommunication that happened a lot. A lot of things oculd have been handled differenly, but it's a thing of the past now. I think I will do it at least for one more semester. We did a lot of fun shows, even though it would get a little obnoxious that he arranged all of the music. We did a Tribute to NY, a Jazz Show, a Gospel Show, and a Military Appreciation show. The military show was interesting because we marched like old school Tiger Band marched. The away trips were a blast and us rookies were taught the ropes of tagging things and the importance of Tiger Band bumper stickers. It was a fun year being a part of the bone section, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!
