CANCELLATION POLICY: Please let me know a week (7 days) in advance of the trip date if you intend to cancel your trip. Within a week of the trip date, the price of $320.00 becomes non-refundable. Once you book a trip with me, I will be turning away other customers, and I may not be able to get them back, and missed trips can really hurt. If the weather is REAL bad the MORNING of the of the trip, than we will postpone the charter to another more convenient time. I will ONLY cancel a trip due to weather if it's a hard rain, or there are lighting storms. I WILL NOT CANCEL TRIPS DUE TO WEATHER FORECAST, LIGHT RAIN, or WIND. IT IS MY GOAL TO GIVE YOU A MEMORABLE FISHING TRIP, NOT HAVE A MISERABLE TIME. I WON'T TAKE YOU OUT IF IN MY JUDGMENT IT'S NOT WISE, BUT REMEMBER, I DO HAVE AN ALL WEATHER BOAT.
FAQ
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Q:
What will I need to bring?
A:. All you need to bring is food and drinks for yourselves, (
please only bring one cooler for the boat, 48 qt. or less, to save foot room ),
and the proper clothing. Make sure you leave a BIG fish cooler in your car or
truck to transfer your fish to after the trip is over. You may want to bring
extra clothing. BRING YOUR FISHING LICENSE! MUST HAVE IT TO GO! I will furnish
all the rods and reels, bait and tackle, ice and photos of your catch
Q: Do you
clean the fish?
A: No. There are no fish cleaning facilities on Lake Murray. If you need
someone to clean fish for you call: Bill Mcdonald Hm: 803-364-2834 Wk:
803-364-3033 or Monte Dooley at Dooley's Sport Shop:
803-359-6084. Call them ahead of time to make arrangements to have your fish
cleaned professionally at a reasonable price.
Q:
Do you guarantee fish?
A: No, I do not need to guarantee fish, but I do guarantee you
110% of my best effort. My customers catch a lot of fish and that keeps them
coming back (look at The Catch
of the Day page).
Q:
When is the best time of year to go catch Striped Bass?
A: We catch Stripers year around, because they have to eat year
around. Spring, Summer, and Fall are best. We catch Stripers in January
and February, but weather plays a bigger role on whether or not we will be able
to go, and water temp. plays a role on how well they will bite.
Q:
When is the best day to go?
A: Our business is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year,
weekdays are quietest, so give us a call and book a trip!
Q:
How many can you take out at one time?
A: I can sit 4 comfortably but, I will take 5 when I have to.
Q:
How long have you been a Charter boat Captain?
A: I earned my license from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1992. I've
fished Lake Murray since 1986, and I've fished and been around boats all my
life.
Q: What are your
rates?
A: $320.00 flat rate, one to four people, up to 8 hours or unless we get our
legal limit first. $35.00 extra for a fifth adult.
NOTICE: Starting 3/1/2001 the new rates will be $320.00
Sunday-Friday, and $340.00 on Saturdays due increasing cost of gasoline, bait,
ice, etc. $35.00 for a fifth adult.
Q: What is the legal
limit on Striped Bass ?
A: 21 inches, five fish per fisherman. The Captain's limit is a bonus if the
customers limit out early in the day, and will be at the captain's discretion.
Q: Can we catch and
release our fish ?
A: Only at the Captains discretion. We don't release injured, legal size, fish.
In the Summer months the customers need to plan on keeping ALL their legal size
fish, since Stripers are often brought up from deep water and won't live if
released.
