Ed's Soccer Home Page

Hello, my name is Ed Foster and I love the game of SOCCER!

In the year of 1980 I started out with the game of Soccer in a Soccer Club called Tahoe Park, in Sacramento California. I was an assistant coach on my girlfriend Sandy's team called the Road Runners. It was a U-8 Girls Team. I had so very much fun that year; it still remains in my heart today, as one of my fondest memories. Sandy has a good heart and she was very patient with me and showed me a great and wonderful new adventure that I believe will last me the rest of my life.

I loved the game of Soccer right after I was introduced to it and I showed my passion of the game to anyone that would listen. I became a referee, coach, player and a fan and from that time I have grow to be much more involved with the game of Soccer. Now it's a year round love affair. I would like to thank the many people that have helped me with my knowledge of this great game. That knowledge has giving me the inner strength to share the wealth of this great game to others.

The HISTORY of Soccer goes back thousands of years and is filled with glory and honor from its players and their passion of this great game.

Soccer has been called so many different names because it has been and still is played in over One Hundred different Nations. Soccer has this magic that links many nations together. Not for just a few years but for centuries in our past.

In the United States, Soccer is not the number one sport as it is in so many other nations around the world. For me that's hard to understand.

In the United States we have a very large and successful Youth Soccer Program. The Youth Soccer program is well run through out our large nation. We have a number of very talented teams and coaches. In my opinion Soccer is without a doubt the best game around for our youth players. We do have other good games similar for kids such as basketball, volleyball, water polo and other team sports that allow all players a chance to touch and play without the interruption of adults. These sports allow all children to participated regardless of the size of the players. I have watched other sports and how they sent the children to be injured for life either physically or mentally.

Our Women's program is at the top in the World standings and our women are the best players in the world. Why not the Men's Soccer Program? You need to answer that one yourself. We are doing better lately. We do have quality men players and we have good training for the players. Yes our Soccer program is growing, and let me say we have great Coaches and Top Referees.

Enough of that let me give you some Soccer information that may be useful for you.
