In this brief sermon from the Bible, I will discuss how to overcome situations and circumstances by our faith in God. My prayer is that this teaching will encourage you by building your faith and bring you to a new spiritual level in the Lord. Passage One: "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." ( Heb. 12:1 ) The word of God teaches us to lay aside every weight. Oh beloved, you can be a born-again, spirit-filled Christian, and love God, and still be weighted down by the pressures and the cares of this world. Passage Two: "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." ( I John 5:4 ) Passage Three: "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" ( Rom. 10:17 ) Child of God, biblical faith requires two things. First, one must have faith in God. Secondly, one must have faith in the word of God. Faith comes by what God has spoken in His word. Therefore, we must have faith in what God has spoken. Faith is contingent upon the word of God, therefore faith simply implies belief and action upon what God has promised. As children of God, we are to live in faith; applying God's word to meet and supply our needs, no matter what the needs may be. Passage Four: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."( St. John 3:3 ) Whosoever is born of God is an overcomer. To be born of God means to be born of His spirit and not of the flesh. Passage Five: "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."( Roman 8:7-9 ) Passage Six: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."( Galatians 2:20 ) Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is looking people that will put their faith in God to work. This brings salvation, healing, miracles, deliverance and prosperity to the people of God. In closing, I would like to leave you with this scripture: Passage Seven: "And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"( Luke 18:7-8 )
