DEOCORATING WITH SWAGS AND CHAINS

An all time favorite with young children are paper chains.
Materials needed: Constuction paper or ribbon in 2 or 3 different colors, double-sided gift wrap, glue.
To make a paper chain, pre-cut stirps about 3/4" wide and 5" long.
A paper cutter makes this a lot easier. Bend a strip into a circle and have your child fasten with a drop og glue. This can be held in place with a
paper clip until glue dries. Slip a scond strip through the loop and make a second circle, glue the ends together and clip.
Continue the process. The glue should dry after about 5 strips.
Stiff calico ribbons can be used the same way and will last from year to year.
Chains are festive on the tree, around windows or doors.

PAPER LACE CHAINS:

Materials needed: 3 to 5 pkg. of 8-in. paper doilies, glue.
Trim the solid patterned center from each of the doilies, clipping the circle once from outside to inside.
Join the doilies end to end, gluing them together right side up, upside down, etc.

y Christmas Prayer------

I bring no Christmas card to you
wishing all a yuletide cheer.
My arms don't bear expensive gifts
like other prior years.
Our world still has its problems,
So I thought I'd like to share
a very, very special wish,
my Christmas season prayer
May each of God's creation's
find peace on earth this morn
to celebrate and realize
this day our Christ was born
And suffer not the children
to join in praising him
amid their gift exchanges
don't let his memory dim
And on this very special day
may each heart be so kind
to share a gift, if only love
with fallen souls we find
Remember it's the giving
to show what's in our heart
and overlook the getting
God will provide our part,
with joy to all who care
and love each time we pray
He'll bring our life the help we need
to make it through each day
So let us to what we can do
to make this season gold
and help the less than fortunate
the weak, the sick, the old
And may each raging battlefront
find time to understand
the point of all opposing views
and peace to every land
May next year when we celebrate this birth
find earth in peace and love
and may the grace of God please follow us
and guide us from above..
