Of Wardrobe and Weapons....

The first thing to catch your attention is the number of mirrors hung on the walls.... Off to the side is a sign that reads:

A would-be adventurer must be prepared for any situation that he or she may encounter. The individual must have the most cunning of wits, the nimblest of movements, and the mightiest of strength in the most dire occurences. Of course, a varied collection of armor and something to attack with would also be to his or her advantage, so in this cavern, the magic mirrors (overused, yes I know, but they still serve their purpose) will show you what (or what not to) wear, wield, etc..

Armor: Staying Alive

For anybody who is anybody, armor is a must. It helps you stay alive, may bestow magical properties, and will even look very fashionable in court.

Headgear and Neckwear:

These two categories contain armor that protects from overhead blows or nasty throat attacks. Equipment found here includes helms, crowns, and bands (for the head), and aventails and collars (on the neck). Note: Amulets and necklaces are found in a seperate category.

Handgear and Armgear:

Worn on the hands and arms, gloves and gauntlets will help keep your grip on weapons (or cowardly villains in that matter) and also help make a hefty impression in hand to hand fighting. Bracelets and armbands have less of a physical value, but are often found to be enchanted thus increasing their worth by a large amount.

On the Back and Around the Body

The items in here are to be worn around the body, such as capes and cloaks, or on the back, like quivers and backpacks. Back Items are usually worn over items around the body and are usually used as a convenient container for weapons, ammo, or items, while items around the body are made from simple fabrics for warmth to wrought links for protection.

On the Body

The most essential piece of equipment is worn here. Covering up the most area and providing the most defense, many lives have been saved by the armor worn here. Whether made from simple leather to thick plates of armor, if one cannot afford to have anything else, just this piece may save their life. Unfortunately, there are always ways to work around it.

Waist Equipment

The lower classes of equipment in here are mainly used for carrying items by way of holding smaller containers such as bags and sheaths. However, more advanced versions have built in pouches that are then covered by a design of metal such as chain or scale, providing valuable coverage.

Footgear and Leg Armor

Footgear is often undervalued in importance. It is what keeps your vulnerable little walkers protected from nasty ground conditions, and also certain pairs of boots, sandals, etc, have enchantments of speed and flying. Leg armor will often go right above the boot edge, providing needed protection and extending the covered area from footgear.

Rings

Ranging from small, simple bands of metal to jewel studded rings, almost all rings have an enchantment just as varied as their design. Rings are commonly worn on the finger, but some have been hung from chains (making amulets) or placed in sheets or designs of metal.

Amulets and Necklaces

About the same as rings, only worn hanging around the neck. Unlike rings, some necklaces and amulet really have no magic in them, but instead just sentimental value or decoration.

Shields

Shields have the potential to greatly extend one's lifespan, being capable of having protection from any source of tangible attack. The catch is that one must find the correct type of shield to defend against a certain type of attack.

Weapons....To return those unwanted favors....

How ironic it is in the fact that a weapon is mainly used to commit wrongdoings and that an adventurer must wield one to defend and deal with those who do those deeds. However, some form of defense and attack is a definite must for the most of adventurers, and with the right hands, can go a long way in the fight for justice.

Blunt Weapons

This class of weapon uses sheer impact to bruise, shatter, and crush any unexpected trouble on your travels.

Edged Weapons

The weapons listed here all have sharpened blades of moderate length, differentiating them from the Dagger class.

Daggers

One of the smaller classes, but none the less more effective, the only basic disadvantage being the close range for use. Their accuracy and ease in wielding make up for the lesser damage they are capable of inflicting.

Staves

Staves are a weapon mainly favored by the magic using classes, having considerable length and damage. They can be considerably awkward at times, though, and are very noticeable.

Bows and Crossbows

Commonly found in the Elven tribes, these weapons do not do the main part of damage, that being the job of the projectile, but instead serve to increase it. There are some specially made weapons that can inflict damage by a blunt attack form, but the main use is to fire deadly volleys.

Instruments

Not really recognized as a weapon, but the Bards of the Morelian Plains have been known to incorporate both beneficial and offensive magic in their music, and also some instruments are used to thwart attackers by producing unbearable tones.

Projectile and Miscellaneous

Projectiles are basically just weapons that do long range damage by being thrown, but some of them do not always return to the owner's hand. The miscellaneous weapons found in this category really do not fit into any of the before mentioned categories.

Ammunition

The arrows, bolts, etc. that are needed to effectively use a bow, crossbow, or other weapon. Note that there are many varieties and uses for items in this category.
