to other planes and places. |

Temporal Affairs (top)
| STIC |
Starfleet Temporal Investigations & Corrections
|
Sometime in the 29th Century temporal anomalies, divergences, and
incursions prompted the need for a more active temporal policing
policy. Co-opting and splitting the Bureau of Temporal Investigations
into the counterbalancing Temporal Integrity Commission ( TIC )
and Temporal Oversight Committee ( TOC ), Starfleet was authorized
to commission a special branch of the Services for enforcing the
Temporal Prime Directive while protecting the purity of history.
At first only individuals and small time-craft crews were employed,
mainly for retrieval of small objects and removal of any thing capable
of proving temporal intrusions. Then a small fleet of larger starships
specially designed for time travel were built near the latter half
of the century. Only certain specific and special events are considered
as 'grand fathered', protected despite being temporally-based incidents
in their own right.
Rank is denoted in the familiar 24th Century fashion, but using
forward-pointing chevrons.
Division colors will also undergo a shift, where Blue will be for
command, Grey for Sciences, and an Umber for Operations.
