Steve Goldman began his wrestling career, the same way as most
wrestlers, by going through Independent Wrestling Federations. Steve was born in a small English town called Hertford and ever since Steve was in his early teens he wanted to pursue a career within the wrestling industry. The students in his school class thought that Steve was some kind of loser because of his fascination with wrestling so Steve ended up losing the majority of his friends and went through his school years as a loner. But during his last year, Steve gained a contract with a small independent fed that toured the whole of southern England and even got some minor TV coverage. Although Steve was a bright kid, who had gained good grades all through his life, he decided that he would drop out of school. His parents were furious and gave him an ultimatum…. stay in school or leave home. Steve simply followed his heart and decided he’d leave home, but on the day he left, his father let his anger get the better of him, and Steve was beaten to a bloody pulp by his father. After he had been kicked out of his house, Steve aged only sixteen found a new home, in the form of cheap hotel rooms and the back of fellow wrestlers cars. He was earning £20 per night, which was hardly enough to see him through a week, but Steve stuck with the company and after just a few months he became a top attraction within the company. But then he was told by the promoter that he was going to have a Federation title shot in his home town. Steve was nervous about returning back to his hometown, he knew that the town would be buzzing, because he was the closest they had to a local hero, which meant his father would know about his return. The fateful night arrived and Steve knew that the title was his. He finished his pre-match ritual and his music sounded and he came walking out into the small arena. The match had been a good one, possibly his best one ever, but then he saw his father and mother walk into the arena, they took their seats in the front row. Steve carried on with the match but made several errors, due to the distraction of his dad. Steve was tossed outside right in front of his parents, which was when Steve saw the black eye his mother had. His father then started shouting abuse, with the heat of the crowd and the adrenalin pumping inside, Steve lashes out at his father. He totally destroys his father before security can stop him. Steve abandons the match and goes backstage. His boss is furious and fires him on the spot. Steve walks out and when he see’s his mother outside, Steve tells her she’s coming with him. Steve and their mother drove straight to the airport and boarded the first plane to America. Steve and his mother start a new life in the States. Steve moves to Detroit and joins another small Indy fed and tours with them for several years. When one day a scout from a federation known as the Total Wrestling Federation saw Steve wrestling in Michigan. Steve was given a two-match trial… against the World Champion on live television. Steve beat the World Champion on both occasions but they were both non-title matches. Steve became a fairly big star during his 12 months in the federation winning every single title, and becoming the Federations Fourth Grand Slam Champion. He decided to retire from the federation after he received an invitation from Victus Metuo to join the UCW in a bid to destroy upper card opponents from the TWF. With Steve now in the UCW only time will tell if he can continue his success filled career and with Victus using Steve as some kind of Hitman, will Steve be able to stay on his ‘good’ side? Only time will tell.
