Membership in General
Being an Champion of Chivalry is a privilege, not a right.
You represent the entire guild in your words and actions.
Any action that reflects poorly on Champions of Chivalry will NOT be tolerated be it listed in this document or not.
Guild Leaders and Officers are here to play and take their Leadership role in an effort to make your playing experience more enjoyable by handling the operations of the guild. They are not babysitters.
Candidacy
Level Restrictions : Levels 20+ alts of members under 20 will be discussed amongst the officers and decided upon at a future date.
Evaluation: At least three (3) Champion of Chivalry Officers will evaluate the nominee either with or without the nominee's knowledge. This means an officer may create an ALT and group with or follow the nominee for several short periods of time to evaluate his/her conduct anonymously.
Contact: An officer will then contact the nominee and the results will be revealed to the nominee. If the player is accepted, they will be extended a guild invitation.
Invitation: Once invited into the guild, the member is a permanent member of Champions of Chivalry unless he or she violates our guild policies in which case the usual disciplinary actions will be taken as detailed in this document.
Alternate Characters (Alts)
No min requirements.
Communications
Guild Chat Chat is to be kept responsible. That means no excessive cursing, religious or racial comments, or sexual innuendoes.
Guild Chat is NOT an auction channel. We don't do price quotes. We don't sell your items. We don't buy your items. We don't find your items. If you do not have Luclin, Join the Auction channel ../join auction. Exception: If you are looking for ItemX and can't find it, you may ask politely in guild chat about the item or assistance in acquiring the item. Keep in mind we do not tolerate begging and repeating similar requests for information and/or items will be considered begging.
Begging: Asking ANY player for items, money or assistance (other than game-related assistance) is absolutely prohibited. In game assistance might be a resurrection or corpse location. Always keep your requests in character. It is not in character for an Ogre to ask a High-Elf cleric for a buff like this: "dood ur cool why don't you buff me?" It is more acceptable to inquire in this fashion: "Um Hi der ya tall elf persun. I thank mah armor isnt all dat gud and I wuld be able to offer ya sum small money if ya'd use yer magic to make me strong." Not only will this reflect better on you as a player but it will have a much higher success rate. Also see "Begging" under Conduct.
Roleplaying: You should always try to be in character in public. /Tell, /auc, /ooc and private chat channels are acceptable non-rp areas as well as Guild chat (though many choose to continue RP in guild chat). /Shout and /Say are not acceptable mediums for out of character communication.
Public Chat Areas: Please restrict your use of /OOC and /SHOUT communications to a minimum.
Conduct
Sony/Verant: Members shall ALWAYS abide by the rules as set forth by Sony and Verant regarding EverQuest as a whole, including conduct and language. This shall include being respectful to Guides, GM's and other representatives as occasion arises.
Representation: Everyone in the guild is representing the guild. Turning on Anonymous does NOT justify or excuse misbehavior. You can always tell what guild a person is in by being in the same zone and typing /guildstatus .
Respect Everyone: Respect ALL other Players.
Respect Guild Members & Allies: Always show the utmost respect and concern for any guildmember and it's Allies.
Respect Officers: No Member/Officer/Leader shall disrespect or ignore guild leaders or officers. This is reason for immediate and irrevocable removal from the guild. This is still contingent upon the 3 Officer vote (see discipline, below).
Hiding from Others: No Guardian shall ever, at any time, hide from other Guardians. If you are /anonymous or /role playing, that is not a license to mislead other guild members regarding your location. If an officer requests your location you are to be as specific as possible in your reply. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary actions being taken.
Buying/Selling/Trading: Be honest and fair when buying, selling, and trading. By all means attempt to get the best deal possible, but shady tactics are not acceptable. Price gouging, misleading players or misrepresenting your items is a major violation.
Begging: You shall never beg for items, money or power leveling from any guild member(s) in any fashion either via TELL or GUILD CHAT. If a higher-level guild member wishes to come assist you, they will make that fact known. Occasionally higher level members or officers will announce to the guild chat channel that they are available to assist where needed, you may respond to these announcements if you can use the assistance. Also See "Begging" under Communications.
Rendering Emergency Assistance: Assisting your Guild takes precedence over all other in-game activities. If at any time a guild member requires help and are a sufficient level and ability to render assistance, you are required to do so. Clerics are asked to resurrect, Druids to camouflage, spirit of wolf and buff as needed, Necromancers are to summon corpses and so on.
Pride: Be proud of your guild and display your Guild Tag at all times. If you are a class with reason to hide your class and level then we would ask that you use /role ON which enables Role Playing mode but will continue to identify you as a formidable member of the Champions of Chivalry. Please try not to use /anonymous or keep it's use to short and infrequent.
Raids/Quests/Groups
Loot: Always ask and have loot orders defined prior to starting the quest or raid. If the loot is open or free or casual, strive to be fair with everyone in the group or raid. Do not loot no-drop items of no use to your class and do not loot every corpse. Be fair do not be greedy. Our guild follows a strict NBG (Need Before Greed) policy. This means that if you are assisting a ranger on a ranger quest and his item drops, HE NEEDS IT and gets it. If other items drop that are not related to his quest drop, you are welcome to share them with your group. If you don't know what NBG is or lack the common sense to be able to follow this rule, see the guild removal instructions at the top of this document.
Leaders:
Raid/Event leader is in charge of the Raid/Event. This person outranks everyone present including guild officers and guild leaders. What the Raid/Event leader says is LAW for the duration of that Raid/Event.
Group Leaders are in charge of your group. Regardless of who is in the group, that group leader has sole control over all actions of his group. While you are in a group you will always follow the orders of your group leader even if they seem to contradict those of the Raid/event leader as the Group leader may have information that you do not.
Cleric/Healer: This better be your next in charge even if unofficially. When this person is OOM or LOM, you're all DEAD if you aren't listening carefully to the healer.
Main Assist: The Main Assist is usually the group/event tank. Every eye should focus on and ensure the safety of and /assist the Main Assist. This person is the key to your group's success. Heal the main assist and /assist (this should be a macro on your hotkey list) the main assist.
Roles: Other group/event roles are main healer, buffer, secondary assist and so on. Be sure you are clear on your role, it will save a lot of XP later.
Disputes
Guild Issues: Using public guild chat (or shout, /ooc, etc) to air disputes is frowned upon and will not be taken lightly. - This has been extended to include the guild website.
Public Issues: Disputes between a member and nonmember should be handled in /tell. As a member you may only be one person, but you represent the guild in its entirety through your actions in front of others.
Problems: If you have a problem, try to keep it in the lowest chain. As a last resort, the guild leader would be notified. If it is a problem with a player, and you need help with resolution, contact an officer. If it is a problem with an officer, notify the guild leader. If it is a problem with a guide or GM, notify sony at eqmail@soe.sony.com.
Disciplinary Action
Any guild member who is found to violate any guild rule(s) in any order will notice the following actions being taken by officers of the guild. Offenses do not need to be violations of the same rule. You may be overly sexist or vulgar to gain a warning one-day and then you might falsely trade items to a player the next day to earn a public warning.
First Offense:
Private Warning from any officer - Officer will post these on guild web site.
Second Offense (you are now on probation):
Private/Public Warning from any officer - Officer will post these on guild web site and the officers will discuss your merits and your transgression. Should you be deemed worthy, you will be allowed to remain a member of Champions of Chivalry. Should you fail to demonstrate your ability to abide by the guild rules by three officer's vote or more, you will be removed from the guild.
Third Offense or any Blatant/Major Offenses (you are now on the street):
Removal from the Guild . - Three officers must concur to remove a member immediately. A member removed in this fashion has no right to be re-instated at any time by anyone other than a guild leader. The member will be informed of a vote action and it's results at such time as the results are available and the member is allowed to stay in the guild or is removed.
Any type of Offense by any member on Probation:
Immediate and Irrevocable Expulsion from Champions of Chivalry with no right to appeal.
