Archetypal Twins, URTVs, the Universe, and Everything

(well, maybe not everything...)

....
by Moonstone 04

Myth and legend is full of archetypes, and one of these is that of the Twins.  They are usually gods or heros.  Sometimes one of them is mortal, while the other is divine.  Xenosaga, with it's love of things Jung, fills the role of almost every major archetype, and this one is no exception.

You can look through myths, and find the twin forces everywhere.  Yin and Yang, Gilgamesh and Enkidu, Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca, Eros and Anteros, God and Satan, Zan and Jayna...  Eeeyah.  They are usually opposites in nature, dark and light, good and evil, heaven and earth.

I've mentioned before that Eros is often used as an allusion to Christ, and Psyche to Sophia.  In Greek mythology, Eros also has a twin brother named Anteros, which is a darker, more vengeful side of love.  But Freud had another twin force for Eros, which was even more sinister.

Freud believed that humans were driven by two drives, libidinal energy/Eros and the death drive/Thanatos. Freud's description of Eros/Libido included all creative, life-producing drives. The Death Drive represented an urge inherent in all living things to return to a state of calm, or, ultimately, of non-existence. (11)

Wilhelm is said to be seeking the 'end of all things.'  In Xenosaga, this phrase can take different meanings.  Relevant to this discussion, I believe he means to destroy the universe in order to return everything to the source.  To bring the chaos of creation into the ordered calm of the otherworld.  So everything becomes one with God again, or whatever God is in Xenosaga.  So although he may think this is the best thing to do for humanity (He is after all, fond of Nietzsche, whose Zarathrustra sees humankind as becoming a stagnant ruin unless destroyed and reborn anew), he may well be responsible for pushing all mortal life towards extinction.  In doing so, he has removed free will, which chaos seems to be the champion of.  Perhaps the outcome of the future is determined by which force of male divine reaches the female divine first.

Navajo mythology hinges on the exploits of the Twins in their quest of the mythical Center of Origin, the Paradise they identify with the Whirling Mountain at the Center of the World. (8)

Sounds so familiar... XD

So where am I going with this?

In the Zervanite theogony, Ahura Mazda and Ahriman, associated with Light and Darkness, were the twin sons of Zurvan, god of Infinite Time (Settegast 216).
(9)

There is also a legend about Jesus Christ having a twin brother.  Most of these surround the apostle Thomas, whose name means twin.

The full name of its founder is St. Didymus Jude Thomas, Apostle of the East. He is said to have been no one less than Jesus’ twin brother. After the messiah was executed, it was Thomas who inherited the leadership of the fledgling Christian movement. (Thus, his description as Jesus’ twin [if it is not literal] may have simply been an acknowledgement of his equal status with Jesus as the movement’s leader and teacher. It was Thomas’ group, by the way, that referred to itself as “the meek” or “the humble” [etc]- which throws great light upon New Testament statements such as “the meek shall inherit the earth.”) St. Thomas was officially credited with the conversion of northern Mesopotamia and India to Christianity.
(1)

But then there's another "twin" even more commonly referred to.  One who fits the archetypal twin mythos much more closely.  This is the Antichrist.

We already know that chaos is Yeshua.  He's Xenosaga's Gnostic Christ figure.  Then there's Wilhelm.  They're incredibly alike, and yet unalike.  They certainly look like they could be twins, except that Wilhelm is light-skinned and red-eyed, and chaos is dark-skinned and blue-eyed.  They're both soft spoken.  (For some reason, the voice actors for both of them are continually cast to sound alike.  The sounded so alike in Ep1, that people commonly believed they had the same VA.  Even in Ep2, where the actors were changed, people still get them confused, to the point of believing chaos is speaking at the very end of the game instead of Wilhelm.  The Japanese VAs also sound alike.)  Both appear outwardly kind, wise, and mysterious.  But while chaos hangs out with a bunch of space truckers, Wilhelm is holed away at the top of his executive tower.  Wilhelm flaunts his power, chaos does not.  They are like mirror images seen in reverse.  So, wouldn't Wilhelm, the opposite of Christ, be the AntiChrist?

Well, let's see some of what's said about Christ and the Antichrist...

In the gospel of St Matthew we find references to the false Christ and false prophets appearing before the end of the world. (4)

Matthews again. XD  Xenosaga has a huge endtimes theme, including Norse mythology, and a ton of Revelation references.  So this part fits.

There's been a very profound link between Antichrist belief and anti-semitism historically. The origin of this, I think, is that the assumption was that the Antichrist would be a demonic twin of Jesus, and the fact that Jesus was Jewish gave rise to the conclusion that therefore the Antichrist will be a Jew. (2)

The false face of Christ, conceived as the Antichrist, provides a narrative that keeps Christian readers on their toes, keeps them reading surfaces as inconclusive facades for uncertain depths, reading the symptoms of Christianity, both within themselves and without, as potentially deceitful. The beautiful and sorrowful (indeed, Christ-like) face of the Antichrist in Luca Signorelli's sixteenth-century frescoes reveals the outrageous and humbling self-doubt underlying Christianity's anticipation of an Antichrist, as the possibility of the believer's obscene mistake, the scandal of Christian credulity in the face of an evil double or demonic twin of Christ. In the pictorial vitae of fifteenth-century blockbooks (which for the most part follow the tradition of Adso), the Antichrist appears as a handsome young man, in no way visibly intelligible as a monster.  The product of a miraculous birth, yet still a human being, the Antichrist has an unpublic youth and then, like Christ, makes his appearance in the Holy Land. As a parody of Christ's historical being, the career of the Antichrist insinuates that Christ cannot be known by his historical manifestation, by demonstrating that the historical events of Christ's life may mean anything, may function as indices of good as well as of evil, of Christ or of Antichrist. (3)

The Antichrist is usually portrayed as being human, yet supernaturally powerful.  One of the things that's always bugged me a little about Wilhelm is his nature.  He's certainly not a normal person, he's clearly immortal and powerful.  But I don't believe he's a spiritual being like the cloaks.  Even Xenocard classified Wilhelm as human, while the Testament card and chaos were labeled "unknown."  His boundaries in the earthly realm may be of importance, but I'll get to that in a little bit...

At a later stage again, in the Protestant tradition, he [antichrist] became identified as the pope, all Roman Catholics and those who persecute the true Christian church. (4)

I'll put this up as possible evidence for the Wilhelm=Heinlein people.  ^^;

He would then claim to be Christ and demand to be worshipped as God, and imitate Christ by raising people from the dead and performing miracles, and finally simulating his own death and resurrection. He would persecute and put to death the faithful, kill the prophets Enoch and Elias who tried to stand against him. However, he is finally defeated as he tries to ascend to heaven from the Mount of Olives. (4)

Wilhelm seems to have the "raising people from the dead" thing down.  The Mount of Olives, btw, is located in Jerusalem.  Hmm hmm hmmm...

If we look at the process of the evolution of consciousness surrounding the emergence of Christ and the antichrist we may get some clues. In the beginning there was undivided unity, and hence there was no opposition. But once duality emerged, e.g. Christ and the antichrist, then the undivided unity receded into the background of consciousness. This god-image or undivided unity was less noticeable in people’s awareness, and hence tended to be forgotten. But there was an exception because when the opposites, Christ and the antichrist, started to battle it out, it ultimately led to a psychological regression to the god-image. It was, as if, the god-image aspect had the final say, could influence and support one of the opposites against the other. All the myths point in the direction of good overcoming evil. However, it does not mean that once the battles begun, there was immediate resolution. Often the battle was very long drawn out, and on occasions it was not clear which side was the good side and which one was the evil one as both claimed to be on the side of the good and truth. So in practice it was very complicated and confusing for people as each side claimed to be for Christ and accused each other of being the false Christ or antichrist.
(4)

The findings of depth psychology confirm this fact. In Jung’s model of the psyche, there are powerful, dark and hidden forces in all of us: these he calls the shadow. And because they are so powerful, they can affect the functioning and operation of the personality at the conscious level. At times it can feel as if there are two personalities within us. It becomes confusing as they rarely go in the same direction, leaving the person divided and split in themselves. This is how it is experienced on the personal level. (4)

That Xeno-esque split personalities of God thing again...  And Jung and his shadow are getting involved again!  Can't seem to do any Xeno research without magically running into him...  Let's see what he has to say about Christ and Antichrist then!

Jung:

Christ, as a hero and god-man, signifies psychologically the self; that is, he represents the projection of this most important and most central of archetypes. The archetype of the self has, functionally, the significance of a ruler of the inner world, i.e., of the collective unconscious. The self, as a symbol of wholeness, is a coincidentia oppositorum, and therefore contains light and darkness simultaneously. In the Christ-figure the opposites which are united in the archetype are polarized into the “light” son of God on the one hand and the devil on the other. The original unity of opposites still discernible in the original unity of Satan and Yahweh, Christ and the dragon of the Anti-Christ lie very close together so far as their historical development and cosmic significance are concerned.’’ The dragon legend concealed under the myth of the Anti-Christ is an essential part of the hero’s life and is therefore immortal. Nowhere in the latter-day myths are the paired opposites so palpably close together as in the figures of Christ and Anti-Christ.

Our discourse naturally brings us to Christ because he is the still living myth of our culture. He is our culture hero, who, regardless of his historical existence, embodies the myth of the divine Primordial Man, the mystic Adam. It is he who occupies the centre of the Christian mandala .......... He is in us and we in him. His kingdom is the pearl of great price, the treasure buried in the field, the grain of mustard seed which will become a great tree, and the heavenly city....... As such, Christ exemplifies the archetype of the self.

If we see the traditional figure of Christ as a parallel to the psychic manifestation of the self, then the Antichrist would correspond to the shadow of the self, namely the dark half of the human totality, which ought not to be judged too optimistically

But even Christianity had to suffer from that truth. The legend of the Antichrist dates from the first century, it can be traced as far back as that. The Antichrist is the dark evil side of Christ. Christ being the best man, the Antichrist is the worst, and they are one and the same person really, the dark inside and the bright outside. (4)

Wow, even got in a Christ parallel to Adam, which really works with the Sophia parallels to Eve.  The image of the Antichrist as the Shadow of Christ is verrry interesting in Xeno terms.

My other theory was that U-DO was chaos' Shadow, and even the leaked documents suggested that U-DO was a part of chaos.  So, if Wilhelm is the Antichrist, does that mean he's also a part of chaos?  A physical manifestation of the Shadow, U-DO?  If so, that's really freaky.  Or maybe he just represents U-DO somehow.  But those U-DO-red eyes have always been a little suspicious.

Psychologically, the case is clear, since the dogmatic figure of Christ is so sublime and spotless that everything else turns dark beside it. It is, in fact, so one-sidedly perfect that it demands a psychic complement to restore the balance. This inevitable opposition led very early to the doctrine of the two sons of God, of whom the elder was called Satanael. (4)

So, I'd say there's a good case for chaos and Wilhelm representing the Christ and Antichrist.  But what about that other famous pair of Xeno twins, Cain and Abel?  What do they have to do with this?

In Genesis 3:15 reference is made to "Serpent Seed" - that which was and is in opposition to the Seed of God. It was the 'spirit' of Antichrist in the Serpent opposing the "absolute" authority of the whole Word of God given to Adam and Eve in the Garden. It was the 'spirit' of Antichrist in Cain opposing the "Spiritual Revelation" of that Word in Abel's sacrifice and worship. That 'spirit' has followed the Seed - Word of God all down through the ages, attempting to pervert the Word and lead the people into deception and false interpretations of the Word.

Now, if you notice it's always been twins all along. There was Cain and Abel were twins, and Esau and Jacob were twins. Jesus and Judas come out of the same tribe and in the same church. And even the Holy Spirit and the antichrist is to be twins, "so close that would deceive the very elected if possible". (5)

So the Antichrist could also represent Cain.  And of course, Cain is the other popular theory for Wilhelm.  It still fits as well, imo.  So what about Abel?

But the end will correspond to the beginning, only in reverse the line of the murdered Abel will attain to eternal life (Heb.11: 40, 4), but the way of Cain will perish. The highest perfecting of "Abel" is Christ, and in Him the incarnation of the Holy God; but the highest development of "Cain" is the Antichrist and in him the self-deification of the curse-laden sinner (II Thess. 2:4). Therefore the one way ends in the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12: 22-24), but the other way in the lake of fire (Rev. 19: 20). (6)

So Abel could represent Christ as well.  And we've already seen this done in Xenogears.  So it's not that far of a stretch for Xenosaga.

Consider the contrast between the first two brothers, Abel and Cain: the first a righteous man of God, the second an evil murderer. The story of Abel and Cain is prototypical of Christ and antichrist: the first the Son of God who descended to earth to save humanity, the second, an angel who fell to earth in rage to destroy humanity. (7)

So we've seen the divine twin parallels of Christ and Antichrist made for chaos and Wilhelm.  As well as their parallels to Cain and Abel.  Don't think I've strayed too far from Xeno's Gnostic roots, though.

Remember that the Annointed, as a Force of the Pleroma, is perfect and cannot be defiled in any way. It descended once into the Serpent of Eden to rescue Adam and Eve from their prison, but had to withdraw again before the Demiurgos could pronounce his curse against it. In like manner did the Divine Light flee from Adam before he could be similarly cursed, from Eve before she could be raped by the Archons, and yet again from Abel before his murder at the hands of Cain. (1)

Again, a case for multiple roles.

One of the most central mythos of the Gnostic faith is the Biblical story of Cain and Abel found in Genesis 4. In the original story, Cain and Abel were the first two children of Adam and Eve. Cain made his living as a farmer, while Abel worked as a shepherd. The world's first dispute arose between these two brothers over the subject of religion. Both brothers made offerings to God- Abel of the firstborn sheep, and Cain of the produce he grew. However, God found only Abel's sacrifices acceptable, and his brother therefore murdered him. As punishment for this crime, Cain was marked and banished- cursed to be a "fugitive and a wanderer upon the earth." (1)

There's no telling how long Wilhelm has really been around either, wandering the earth...  Again, more on that later.  Now, what about the figure that Wilhelm probably represents the most?  Yep, the Gnostic baddie, Ialdabaoth, also known as the demiurge.

The infant Ialdabaoth, upon first opening his eyes, had seen only the smallest glimpse of the Pleroma, its principal hierarchy, and his Mother. (Some texts insist that he only saw their reflection upon the surface of the Waters of the Deep.) Yet, in that instant, he had become enamoured of Sophia, and had moved to grasp the luminous power that radiated from Her. Only after Sophia had drawn closed the veil between the Pleroma and the outer darkness did She realize that Her light had diminished, because Ialdabaoth had stolen a portion of it. (1)

Hmm...now, compare that to this entry from the leaked documents:

The original KOSMOS prototype was the same as Chaos a long long time ago, existing as wave beings (maybe similar to the wave existence?). It was later stolen by Wilhelm for his own personal plans. Chaos is hoping to turn KOSMOS back into her original form (it is possible that Chaos is, in fact, a part of U-Do itself).

He may not be a spot-on characterization of Ialdabaoth, but I really think he's the Xenoverse equivalent.  After all, Xeno likes to take what we think we know about myth and turn it on its head.  One of its themes has always been to question what we've been taught to be reality.  Hence all the Jung/Buddhist themes, as well as the good/evil Nietzsche business.

I mean, who expects Jesus to be a space trucker? O.o

Meanwhile, one of Ialdabaoth’s seven sons- Sabaoth- eventually repented and condemned the ways of his father. He sang praises to Sophia/Zoe, and was therefore caught up to the seventh heaven (the highest of the heavens outside of the Pleroma). Here, Sabaoth became the God of the Jews (1)

...A hint of Testament betrayal?  My vote goes to Kevin.

Okay, now in the interest of the next line of thought, I'm going to bring Sophia into this briefly.  My current idea of the Sophia trinity encompasses Shion/Sakura(mother/virgin), KOS-MOS(daughter/bride), and Nephilim(holy spirit).  While the Christ trinity appears to be something like Abel(son), chaos/Wilhelm(holy spirit), U-DO(father).  This isn't counting any other weird split personalities that could be present, ala Xenogears.

We find the same idea in the Zohar. Satan was a Son, and an Angel of God. With all the Semitic nations, the Spirit of the Earth was as much the Creator in his own realm as the Spirit of the Heavens. They were twin brothers and interchangeable in their functions, when not two in one. Nothing of that which we find in Genesis is absent from the Chaldeo-Assyrian religious beliefs, even in the little that has hitherto been deciphered. The great "Face of the Deep" of Genesis is traced in the Tohu-bohu, "Deep," "Primeval Space," or Chaos of the Babylonians. Wisdom (the Great Unseen God) -- called in Genesis chap. i. the "Spirit of God" -- lived, for the older Babylonians as for the Akkadians, in the Sea of Space.

The active Power, the "Perpetual motion of the great Breath," only awakens Kosmos at the dawn of every new Period, setting it into motion by means of the two contrary forces, and thus causing it to become objective on the plane of illusion. In other words, that dual motion transfers Kosmos from the plane of the Eternal Ideal into that of finite manifestation, or from the noumenal to the phenomenal plane. Everything that is, was, and will be, eternally IS, even the countless forms, which are finite and perishable only in their objective, not in their Ideal form. They existed as ideas, in the Eternity, and when they pass away, will exist as reflections. Neither the form of man, nor that of any animal, plant or stone has ever been created, and it is on this plane of ours that it commenced "becoming" i.e. objectivizing into its present materiality, or expanding from within outwards, from the most sublimated and supersensuous essence into its grossest appearance. Therefore our human forms have existed in the Eternity as astral or ethereal prototypes; according to which models, the Spiritual Beings (or Gods) whose duty it was to bring them into objective being and terrestrial Life, evolved the protoplasmic forms of the future. (10)

Although Sophia/KOS-MOS is the source of creation, she can not awaken and create true life without her male co-creator.  Whether this must be chaos or Wilhelm, is unknown.  However, we have seen her awaken briefly when in the presence of anima forces, be it directly from chaos himself, or from the Zohar to which he seems to be linked, or from an anima relic in her E.S.  This makes me think that only the creator-aspect of Christ may be able to awaken her, which is why Wilhelm is manipulating him into action.  U-DO, which surrounds Lost Jerusalem/true KOS-MOS, has been stated to represent death.

...and I'm compelled to quote Grahf again. XD

"My fist is the divine breath!"

Hmm...

Now for something else of interest...

This was the beginning of the suffering of Sophia. Filled with a passion to search out the Ancestor, She recklessly charged forth without her consort. She wished to comprehend the magnitude of the Source, but this was not possible without resulting in Her dissolution. So it became a struggle for Her as she pushed her way ever higher toward the Immeasurable Magnitude.

The Ancestor, meanwhile, was aware of the approaching Sophia as well as the consequences. Therefore, it directed Intellect to create a Great Barrier and set it between the Source and everything else in the Pleroma. This Barrier is sometimes considered “hexagonal”, because it has six names: Boundary, Cross, Redeemer, Emancipator, Boundary-Setter, and Conveyor. Usually, however, it is considered a Great Cross (which will become important later in this story).

This Barrier has two functions: one is to stabilize, and one is to divide. As Ptolemy tells us: “In stabilizing and establishing, it is the Cross. In dividing and bounding, it is the Boundary.” John the Baptist, continues Ptolemy, spoke of the Boundary when he said, “The Cross is a winnowing fork, and consumes all material elements as fire does chaff. And winnows the saved as the fork winnows wheat.” (You can read the original quotes in Mt. 3:12, or Lk 3:17.)

When Sophia finally struck this Barrier, it caused Her to realize that the Source truly was incomprehensible. The Barrier restrained her, purified her, and restored her to her consort and her proper place within the Pleroma. Sophia was therefore at rest again, because the Barrier had separated (or winnowed) the passion from Her.
(1)

The "passion", btw, went through the cross, and was dumped into the material world.  Doesn't this "Great Cross" that's a boundary between the pleroma and the physical world sound an awful lot like the Zohar?  It is cross-shaped, and is the door between the realms.

Unknowingly moved by Achamoth (once again), the Demiurgos himself begot the earthly Jesus upon Mary. Thus did Jesus take of the animate essence of the Demiurgos and mixed it with the spiritual essence of Achamoth to form his earthly body. However, there was nothing material in his form- because the material essence cannot be saved. (The Valentinians supposed Jesus appeared physical by some miracle- that his body was apparent and not actual.) It was this earthly Jesus of whom the Craftsman spoke through the Old Testament prophets- the coming of his son. (1)

Another old theory about Abel is that he might be genetically engineered from Wilhelm himself somehow.  There is a certain resemblance between them.  This particular Gnostic myth that has the earthly body of Jesus as the result of the union of the Demiurge and Mary lends itself to that.  Possibly another son of that "mother with a perfect set of chromosomes?"

BTW, I don't think chaos is a physical being at the moment.  Even the leaked documents describe him as being like a spirit, which explains what he has in common with the cloaks.  He is only perceived to be a physical being.

Upon Jesus’ baptism, the Christos (Anointed) descended into him in the form of a white dove. However, both the Christos and the spiritual seed he took from Achamoth left him when he was arrested and brought before governor Pilate - because the Christos cannot experience suffering or any passion). So it was only the animate Jesus that suffered. He was crucified as a representation of the Christos stretching out along the Great Cross Barrier and forming Achamoth. (And- as described earlier concerning the Barrier- it represents the Cross as winnowing the impure from the soul, while the spiritual essence ascends beyond it to the Pleroma.)
(1)

There's that Great Cross Barrier again... >.>

And now, after ALL that, what about the URTVs?  Where the heck do they fit in?
My theory on the URTVs has changed little in the past year, except for a few details.  I was happily surprised when Ep2 gave a huge support to my theory surrounding them, as well as providing new clues.

From the Ep1 script:

Jr.: Did you say...this is where you were born?

MOMO: Yes. Daddy gathered together the data he needed to create me on
Miltia, and then he sent it to Proto Merkabah.

Jr.: Are you saying that thing was built for the purpose of creating
you?

In Fifth Jerusalem...

Juli Mizrahi: That wasn't its original purpose. It was created to
discover the true form of the universe... ...the form we ourselves were
meant to have. But then he took it, and...

So, Proto Merkabah was meant to discover the "true form of the universe."  We know that Mizrahi and Yuriev were working pretty close together for a time, considering that both their work focused on the phenomenon surrounding the Zohar.  Could it be that Yuriev used Proto Merkabah to create a micro-form of the universe?

The yellow-haired URTVs:

I had always felt that the URTVs must be some kind of collective organism.  Their Jungian psychological names as well as the mental connection seemed to hint at it.  Ep2 confirmed that the yellows were a collective consciousness.  I believe they represent the body of the pleroma, which makes up the majority of the true universal structure.

Rubedo and Albedo:

Then something different.  A "variant."  The first higher consciousness of the universe is created.  And then, unexpectedly, this first being splits into two separate entities.  Still one, yet two.  I think Rubedo represents chaos, or the Christ figure of this microverse.  While Albedo is Wilhelm, the Antichrist.  Destined to be pitted against each other as anti-existences.

Yuriev notices immediately (and perhaps suspected beforehand) that they would match wavelengths with Sakura.  I wouldn't be surprised if he had Sakura brought in, knowing that she might be one of the incarnations of Sophia.  However, it's hard to say if the URTVs were able to match up due to being created with the animus of Sophia collected by Yuriev, or as a result of being reproductions of the male creator.  Perhaps both.  But it's noteworthy that Rubedo in particular fell in love with her.  (There's even a parallel of this in Xenosaga Freaks.  When KOS-MOS falls under a virus that destroys her ability to understand or communicate with others, she is only able to understand chaos.)

Albedo might parallel with Wilhelm, in that he feels trapped in immortality.  As he was, he could never transcend to the source.  Destined to roam the earthly plane forever.  Albedo also shares many of the same points of view as Wilhelm, quoting Nietzsche concepts often, although with much more maniacal laughter.  He is also called the White Rider, by chaos.  The White Rider of the Four Horsemen is often interpreted as the Antichrist.  There may be further parallels here, and perhaps even clues in the conflict between Albedo and Rubedo concerning Sakura.

It's very interesting to notice that by the end of Ep2, chaos has clearly chosen Jr for his side of the conflict, while Wilhelm has taken up Albedo.

Nigredo:

Albedo: Rubedo... Beware of Nigredo's shadow. Think why it is he doesn't
react to U-DO.

The darkness of the shadow.  Poor Gaignun is the equivalent of U-DO.  This is why he does not react nor is harmed by U-DO.  He is very likely Yuriev's ultimate true goal in creating the URTV.  Like Voyager, he also came to the conclusion that in order to beat death, he must become death itself.

There may also be some relation between the fact that Yuriev didn't awaken within Nigredo until U-DO had also reawakened.

Remember that Nigredo was once known as "executioner."  His powers are the most destructive of the URTV, and also has the power to hypotize people with his voice.  (This is like U-DO's power to drive people insane with its wavelength.)

Citrine:

Citrine: Don't be so surprised. The original fertilized eggs had both X
and Y stock. I am an X-type, designed to preserve the egg's mtDNA. We'd
be in trouble if the project his a dead end with nothing but just you
simple Y-types.

Citrine represents Sophia.  Like the creator mother, her purpose is also to preserve life.  She may represent Nephilim, the only aspect of Sophia unfettered by U-DO.  The various imprisonment and unconsciousness of the other aspects of Sophia could also explain why most female types are unstable.  The universe is out of balance, and it is reflected here.  Sakura, who may have been an incarnation of Sophia, was blocked from the realm of consciousness by U-DO.  Just as Lost Jerusalem is blocked by U-DO.

Citrine: Code name: Red Dragon. A useful, yet dangerous creature with
the potential to lose control. Our duty is to manage and subdue the Red
Dragon's violent nature. Don't you think it's strange? The way you
don't react to the U-DO simulator?

It may be that Nephilim also represents a feminine version of the shadow.  The difference between them being that U-DO is violent, and she is not, yet both their wavelengths bring madness.

Okay, I think my brain finally gave out.  ^^;
