Cataline's family lives in the Trill capital city. Her mother, Marie Acus, is a nurse who works mainly within the symbiant pools, taking care of symbiants between hosts. She is also a consultant for several high-class medical boards. Her father, Stephen Acus, is a computer technician specialist. The Daystrom Institute invited him to a meeting of other scientists several years ago during the Dominion crisis. The shuttle that was transporting him and three other scientists never arrived and was considered lost with all hands aboard, although no debris or evidence was ever found. This left Marie alone to care for Cataline's sibling, Heather Acus, age 4 (as of current).

Biography:
Cataline was born to Marie and Stephen Acus in 2348. Her childhood was rather dull and normal compared with other Trill children. It was only when she was chosen to be joined with a symbiant that things became interesting. The training program, which she entered into in 2359, was rigorous and difficult, but Cataline proved to be up to the challenge. She completed the training in 2364, and was joined with the Enki symbiant. The next 4 days were critical for them both, as they each adjusted to their new relationship together. Cataline applied for and was accepted into the Academy in 2366, becoming the first Enki host to enter Starfleet, although other hosts had worked for the Federation. She entered into a science track, and proved to be exceptional during her first year, earning her an early assignment to a high level project: the development of the Akira-class starship. Cataline managed to juggle her learning and classes with her work on the starship project. Cataline graduated in 2370, in the same year that the Akira-class was finished and officially launched. She graduated with High Honors, along with several commendations for her work. In fact, her first assignment was on the USS Akira on their shakedown cruise as the Chief Science Officer. Her intimacy with the project became a blessing for the crew when a warp-core malfunction threatened to destroy the ship and all hands aboard. For her original thinking, she was given another commendation. Cataline returned from the shakedown cruise in late 2370. Upon her return, her scientific expertice was called on, and she was reassigned to the Argus Array as a Scientific Analyst. She served for four months there, until the closeness to Cardassian space and the mounting tentions in the area forced Starfleet to be cautious and pull all personnel out of the station. Cataline was reassigned to the Nebula-class USS Farragut, NCC-60597, as Science Officer, under Chief Science Officer T'Pata. T'Pata, a middle-aged Vulcan, remembered working with Raven Enki, Enki's third host. One of the Farragut's missions was the rescue of the USS Enterprise-D's crew after her crash landing on Veridian III. In 2372, in recognition of her continued excellent service, Cataline was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. In 2373, with the outbreak of Cardassian and Domion hostilities in the Alpha Quadrant, the USS Farragut was reassigned to the Vulcan system for some time, until the joint Federation/Klingon/Romulan fleets took the offensive, which the Farragut was part of. After the signing of the landmark treaty between the Dominion and the Alliance which ended hostilities in 2374, Cataline was reassigned to the Intrepid-class USS Ockam as Chief Science Officer. Her commanding officer felt her positive work ethic and high morale required rewarding, and promoted her to full Lieutenant in 2375. Early in 2376, Cataline accepted an invitation to return to Starfleet Academy to teach. She taught Subspace Theory for a year, and Deep Space Analysis for half a year after that. In late 2377, she entered into Starfleet Command's Officer Training, which she quickly completed. In early 2378, Starfleet Intellegence approached Cataline Enki to invite her to enroll in their training. For eight months, Cataline underwent extensive and intense tactical, weaponry, espionage, and diplomatic training. After this period, Starfleet Intellegence decided to send her on a mission. Using technology reverse engineered and developed with the help of a former Borg drone known as Seven of Nine and technology from the advanced USS Voyager, returned from the Delta Quadrant, a Defiant class vessel was outfit with advanced weaponry, shielding, sensors, and propulsion. The Defiant-class vessel survived a voyage through transwarp space to what was formerly believed to be the heart of Borg space. Instead, a dead world of metal and technology with trillions of malfunctioning or deactivated drones was found. The vessel also made incursions into Unimatrix Zero-One and the Borg Queen's Nexus. During the trip to the Nexus, the crew of SFI officers found several hundred former drones who had regained biological control over their bodies and obtained a tactical cube. The Starfleet vessel barely manged to escape destruction before the tactical cube entered transwarp towards another galaxy. The vessel started heading for home. During the mission home, the Captain of the mission promoted her to Lieutenant Commander. The vessel returned to Federation space in early 2379, at which time Cataline was assigned to Starbase 47 as a Technical Consultant for Starbase Operations in order to prepare her for a command position on a starship. That opportunity came in early 2380, when she received orders to report to the newly built Akira-class USS Glorion as her Executive Officer...

Previous Hosts:
2215 - Enki symbiant "born"

1. Miquel Enki - Host from 2215 - 2243. Miquel was a computer technician who was hired by the government for jobs in outlying cities. Miquel was married and had a son while hosting the Enki symbiant. During a job in 2248, Miquel was sent on an assignment to the city Chodak. While there, he accidentally uncovered a plot to revolt against the government. Upon threat of execution, Miquel agreed to keep quiet. He died several years later at the age of 53 of what appeared to be normal causes.

2. Sijue Enki - Host from 2244 - 2245. Sijue inherited the Enki symbiant at the age of 32. When she was joined, she discovered the memories of Miquel's discoveries and his untimely end. She immediately reported what she knew to the authorities. Although they discovered the plot and put an end to it, the authorities could not sufficiently protect Sujie. An assassin was dispatched to end her life. They found her body severely tortured, mangled, and bruised, and the symbiant in critical condition.

The Enki symbiant was returned to the baths and underwent experimental treatment to block and/or lessen the effects of the memories. These treatments were mostly successful. The host has access to the memories, but it appears as though they were a bystander unable to help instead of being the victim.

3. Raven Enki - Host from 2252 - 2305. A brilliant mathematician and scientist already, Raven was able to draw on Miquel's computational knowledge and her own mathematical background to develop advancements in computational technology and analysis once hosting the Enki symbiant at the age of 27. She also studied astrophysics extensively, leading research into the properties and nature of dark matter, and served on a team to study the galactic core. Her skills with numbers were indeed amazing. She could recall dates, times, formulas, constants, computations, and distances on demand. She was even admired by her Vulcan colleagues. After serving on the Trill Scientific Council for 12 years, she retired at the age of 80. She passed away shortly afterwards.

4. Dorcy Enki - Host from 2305 - 2364. Joined at the age of 35. Already a respected diplomatic relations officer, Dorcy continued onto greater things once joined. She served for a small period of time as the Trill representative to the Federation, then as Trill representative to other worlds. She once met Ambassador Sarek at a gathering of Federation Ambassadors. She also was involved with the delicate negotiations of Algeron Treaty with the Romulans.

5. Cataline Enki - Host from 2364 to present.
