~~~Years ago, when a dark family feud was boiling between Lasius Sedi and Darken Sedi--Lasius' twin brother, Darken kidnaped his Dryad wife, Alexia Sedi, and Lasius would never see her again. While held away from her love, her husband, Alexia began to notice something Darken hadn't: her belly was growing. Her eating habits hadn't changed in such a way that she would have been gaining weight, and the weight she was gaining was solely in her belly, in her womb. Before Darken had taken her away, Lasius had planted within her one last seed. This child was the only thing she would have left of her husband besides her memories. In a futile effort, she tried hiding her pregnancy from Darken, but knew that sooner or later he would find out. He did. In her 4th month, it was painfully obvious that she was with child, and she gave up trying to hide it behind loose clothes. Not to her surprise, Darken wasn't happy when he found out. ~~~Alexia carried the child until birth, and to her surprise birthed two--twins; a boy and a girl. She named the child Leicia--the closest name to Lasius she could get for a female child, and named the boy Laserrin. She cherished them both dearly. Only a week did she have Leicia and Laserrin before Darken came and took the babies from her bed. Alexia begged and pleaded with him to leave the children alone, to let Alexia have them back, but he refused and took the babies to an old midwife, ordering her to take the children on a ship and give them to separate families far away. He wanted nothing to remind him of Lasius, nothing save Alexia herself. Having shipped of the babies, he was satisfied, and Alexia was heartbroken; she lost the last two things she had left of her husband... ~~~The ship took the babies and the midwife to a smaller continent beneath Lunaire, where the old woman gave Leicia, coincidently, to a woman named Kiyra Sedi, Xanthe Sedi's aunt. The midwife explained to Kiyra that the baby was of Sedian blood, and that she must raise the baby or she would die, for there was nowhere else for her to go. Accepting quickly, Kiyra took Leicia home and gave her the name Lucilla, meaning "light", for she had the notion that her baby would possess the power of Lightning. For the most part, she kept Lucilla a secret as the child grew up. She never hid her or denied having her, but she never took her into Lunaire where the other Sedi dwelled, either; she felt it was necessary to keep Lucilla unknown, mostly for her own protection. Kiyra was constantly over-protective of Lucilla, and as Lucilla grew, she began to respect that rather than resent it. Their relationship was a close one and based highly on respect on both parts. ~~~From the time she was 4 up until she turned 19, her mother trained her hard in battle, culture, self-defense, surviving, and class. As tough as she wanted her daughter to be, she also wanted her to be a lady. During that time, Lucilla was also trained by others: men who had plenty of experience in the field of battle, which included weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, and riding. From the time she was 6 up until 19, she worked with herself on using her power, which was after all, Lightning. She discovered it so young, and her mother encouraged her to try and tap into it, but always warned her to be careful; Lightning was one of the most dangerous and hard-to-master of the Sedian powers. Years and years she worked on gaining control of her power, and many times she hurt herself badly, and many times she nearly killed herself, but each time her mother urged her to try harder, and to succeed. She did. ~~~Shortly after her 19th birthday she succeeded in the near impossible: she mastered the Sedian power of Lightning. Within that time, she also took leave of her home, taking herself away from the place in which her mother had lived, and months before, died. She traveled to Lunaire so that she might meet more of her family, and found herself slipping into a consequential situation of war. There, she met the family leader, Lasius Sedi, and though he looked strikingly familiar to her, as she has some of his traits, she could not place him in her past. Unbeknownst to Lasius, she is his daughter, and unbeknownst to Lucilla, he is her father, which makes her half-sister to Princess Bian Sedi, who is daughter of Queen Lethia Sedi. Unbeknownst to both Lasius and Lucilla, there is a male child of the family, Lucilla's twin brother who is still alive, and named Ferinus Sedi. However, called into a nether realm with many other Sedi, including Ferinus, Lucilla is on the verge of discovering who her real family is...
