Info :
The BAjoran people have wandered the galaxy settling on various worlds since their home world was captured by Cardassians 40 years ago. Custom is fore their family name to be used before the individual name. Ancient Bajorans had a rich and developed civilization complete with architecture, art, philosophy and even some technology before human beings on Earth became bipedal. Many Bajorans have joined Starfleet despite their home planet still recovering from the occupation, while others prefer to work with the Federation from within the Bajoran system. Among their complex death rituals, Bajorans believe a deceased soul should make peace with its former life and say goodbye before going on to the afterlife. Their heart's arrangement is mirrored along a horizontal, not vertical axis; puncturing the lower ventricle of the heart brings instant death.

The depth of Bajoran spiritual beliefs has been at the core of their survival of 40 years under Cardassian oppression. Bajorans belief the land and the people who live on it are one. Bajorans are led by a spiritual leader (Kai) and a provisional government.

Since the wormhole near the Bajoran homeworld was discovered the Bajorans have enjoyed an increase in political power, but only after decades of victimization during the occupation. Some Bajorans have a unique and personalized insignia. Major Kira knew the famed Linalis' on sight. School years are organized by age, and perhaps even in refugee camps they offered art to youngsters. Bajor's tradition of art and architecture is strewn around countless planets from before the occupation. Its science and space programs were back on track soon after the occupation.

Relations between Bajorans and their former oppressors are very testy.
