As your power level goes up so does your age. Once you reach a certain power level you reach a new age and are able to get new and more powerful weapons.
Small Child: 5 through 9 years of age. Your power level is at 0 through 4,999.
Pre Teen: 10 through 12 years old. You power level is at 5,000 through 9,999.
Early Teenager: 13 through 16 years old. Your power level does not have to be at any certain level, just above Pre Teen. You must have the Guilded Sword though.
Teenager/Adult: 17 and up. Your power level must be 10,000 or up. You must also have the master sword.
