In the beginning, three goddeses descended from a distant nebula onto a formless waste of a world. Together they created the world of Hyrule. After creating Hyrule, the three combined thier power together to create a relic called the triforce. The triforce was said to grant any wish the holder desired. On Hyrule there was a great war between all the races of the land, the Hylains, the Kokiri, the Gorons, the Zoras, and the Gerudos. A Hylain mother, wounded came to the Kokiri forest and came to the Great Deku tree. With her last bit of life she begged the deku tree to take care of her child. The mother passed away and the Great Deku Tree kept the child as a Kokiri. Sinse kokiris do not age, the Great Deku tree had used his magic to make sure the child did not grow any more mature than a small child. Somehow the child was named Link and grew up among the kokiri. He was known as the boy without a fairy because all kokiri`s had fairy partners but Link. One day while Link was sleeping, a fairy brought Link to the Great Deku Tree. He was told of the triforce and its origin. He was told of a gerudo king, the only male gerudo born every hundred years was made king of all gerudos. He poisened the Great Deku Tree because he could not take the Kokiri Emerald from him, one of the key elements in obtaining the triforce. Despite Links attempts to save the deku tree by defeating queen ghoma, a parasite living inside him, the deku tree died. Before doing so he gave Link the very treasure he had given his life to protect. The Kokiri Emerald. After sadly saying goodbye to the deku tree Link left the forest. As he was about to cross over into Hyrule field, he was stopped by a dear friend Saria. Knowing he was always destined to leave the forest, she gave him a gift to remember her by. Link got the fairy ocarina and without saying anything, entered hyrule field. While going through Hyrule Field, he meets Kaepora Gaebora, a giant owl. He follows Link throughout Hyrule, giving him hints on how to get to the next step. Link reaches Hyule castle, then sneaks in through a hole in the side of the castle. He sneaks past all the guards and enters princess zeldas courtyard. He talks to princess zelda who is peering in through a window and she tells him of a dream she had of dark storm clouds all around Hyrule, then a bright light coming from the forest and a figure with a fairy coming from it. She believed it to be a prophecy that Link would overcome an evil force that she suspected to be gannondorf, the gerudo king who had poisoned the Great Deku Tree. She tells him of the triforce and its whereabouts in the sacred realm, she also tells him of the three spiritual stones he must obtain before opening the door of time and entering the sacred realm. Link already has the Kokiri Emerald so only two more remain. She gives Link a letter saying he is on a quest for her and to let him through to anywhere he may find himself on his quest. As he begins to leave, zelda`s bodyguard and caretaker Impa, stops him and tell him that her part in zeldas prophecy was to teach the forest figure a song passed down by the royal family from generation to generation. She whistles out zeldas lullaby for Link as he follows along with his ocarina. Impa takes Link from the castle and leaves him in Hyrule feild. She directs him to go to kakariko village, then dissapears with the flash of a deku nut. Link goes back to kokiri forest and into the lost woods. From there he goes into the sacred garden of the kokiri forest and meets saria. She plays him a song that will let the two communicate whenever they want. He leaves the kokiri forest again and goes to kakariko village. He presents the letter to the guard and goes up to death mountain. When he goes up Death mountain he finds strange creatures called gorons. They are big and gorilla-like but with no fur. Link enters an opening in the side of the mountain and finds a goron city inside the mountain. He talks to Darunia, the leader of the gorons. Darunia tells Link of ganondorf and how he came looking for the goron ruby. He tells him of how he had come and blocked up dondagos cavern because they would not hand it over. He then gives Link the goron bracelet, an item that would let him pluck the goron special crop from the ground. Link leaves the goron city and blows up the boulder blocking dondagos cavern using the gorons special crop. He then ventures inside and defeats the lizafoes(dinosaur-like creatures) and King Dondago. He then is transported from the cave and out to the entrance. There, he and darunia become blood brothers and he recieves the goron ruby. Darunia tell link of the great fairy on top of death mountain. He climbs to the very top and blows up the wall there. Links enters the great fairy fountain. There he plays zeldas lullaby, the great fairy of magic gives Link magical power and a sword technique where he can charge magic into his sword, then spin in a 360 degree angle. She tells Link to see the great fairy near hyrule castle and then she dissapears in the shallow pool of water she came from. Link travels back to outside Hyrule castle and finds a small boulder. He blows it up and goes inside a small hole. He is now in another great fairy`s fountain. He plays zeldas lullaby and the fairy gives him dins fire, a magical attack used to surround himself in flames. He exits and plays sarias song for advice, she tells him to go to zoras domain. He goes there and finds creatures called zoras. They are hylian-like but are a pale blue-white color and have fins on arms and legs. There is a slight extension on the back of their heads which sticks out the back. He goes to see the king and talks to him. He tells him how everyone is looking for his daughter and they cannot find her. Link looks around and decides to play the diving game there. He wins and his prize is a scale from a zora which allows him to dive twice as deep as he could before. Using this he finds his way out of zoras domain and in Lake Hylia. He follows a trail of rupies (money) to a bottle with something in it. He goes onto land and reads the note that someone placed inside. It is from princess ruto, king zoras daughter, it says that she is inside lord jabu jabu and he swallowed her. She says please help but also says not to tell her father about it. Link swims back through the passageway and into zoras domain again, there he tells the king and shows him the note. King zora moves aside and lets Link go into zoras fountain. There Link is eaten by Lord Jabu Jabu. He goes deep inside Lord Jabu Jabu and finds princess ruto. He carries her throughout his body then defeats Barinade, a parisite infecting Lord Jabu Jabu. He is transported along with Ruto outside of Lord Jabu Jabu. He is cornered by Ruto and she gives him the zora sapphire as an engagement ring. He leaves zoras domain and heads for Hyrule Castle. One his way, day turns to night and as he approaches the drawbridge a storm brews up. In the pouring rain the drawbridge slowly opens and a white horse with princess zelda and impa on it gallops out. Princess zelda looks back at link and throws something towards him but misses it and it lands in the moat. Link watches them gallop out of view, then turns to see Gannondorf on a black armored horse, looking around for them, He asks Link where they are but Link will not tell him. Gannondorf knocks him back with a dark purple blast of magic gathered in his hand. Gannondorf gallops off and leaves Link there. Link gets up and watches him leave, then turns and jumps into the moat. He swims down and takes the item, then swims back to shore to see what it is. He has gotten the ocarina of time, an ocarina much like the one he already had but blue, and it plays smoother notes. From some magical force he begins to hear princess zeldas voice in his head. She teaches him the song of time and he heads off for the temple of time. He goes to the pedistal of time in front of the door of time and plays the song of time. The three spiritual stones float out of his pockets and are put in their places. The door of time opens and Link walks up the steps and through the door of time. He enters a final room with the master sword sticking out of a stone. He approaches it and puls it out. He was surrounded by a blue light and he was frozen in place there for seven years. He awakens after seven years in the chamber of sages. The sage of light, Raru tells him about how his soul was trapped there for those seven years and of how he was the hero of time. He tells him he was too young to be the hero of time when he pulled the sword but now that he is older he can. He tells him of how after he pulled the master sword out, gannondorf entered the sacred realm and took the triforce. The triforce of power was given to gannondorf and he became king of all evil.
