A Complete Step-By-Step Beginner's Guide to Mabinogi

Before you go through this guide, check out the names and pictures of the NPCs in town here http://www.mabinogi.com/4th/2_info.asp?oz=4676.

1.Once you enter the town, talk to the old Town Mayor NPC (Duncan) standing by a house near a big tree. (Choose only the first left-most button in the dialog window for all conversations in the game unless stated.)



2.Open the Quest window and click on the yellow button. This yellow button is called the Complete button.

3.You will get the Rest skill quest immediately.

4.Talk to the Cloth NPC girl (Nora) standing outside the Inn (located directly south of the Mayor's house) until you see the Travel Diary. Click the 3rd option/keyword in your Travel Diary on the first page until you see a picture of a sitting Nora.

5.Open your Skill window. You should see a skill called Rest.

6.Click on the Use button in your Skill window.

7.Click the Get button in your Skill window. Now you have the Rest skill.

8.Open your Quest window and click on the Complete button to finish your Rest skill quest.

9.Now you are given a combat training quest which has 4 tasks.

10.Go to the Teacher NPC (Ranald) and talk to him. Ranald is situated at the west part of the town. You should get 25% of this quest completed after you talk to Ranald.

11.Keep hitting the punching poles at Ranald's training school until you see the words "Practice Completed". You should get 50% of this training quest completed now.

12.Open your Skill window and click the Get button for your Melee Combat Mastery skill. You should get 75% of this training quest completed.

13.Talk to the Teacher NPC (Ranald) again. This will finish the entire training quest.

14.Open your Quest window and click on the Complete button to finish your Combat skill quest.

15.In the middle of your training, you should get another quest to find 1 Small Green Gem.

16.To get a Small Green Gem, hit some barrels or lamp posts until they drop a Small Green Gem.

17.Once you get the gem, open your Quest window and click on the Complete button as usual.

18.Now you will be given a Gathering Axe Coupon.

19.Talk to the Teacher NPC (Ranald) one more time until you see the Travel Diary.

20.Select the 3rd option/keyword on the first page to get the Defence skill quest scroll.

21.At the same time, you will recieve a Full Ring Mail (Delivery) in your inventory. The Ring Mail is a delivery quest item and you cannot use it. If you accidentally cancel this delivery quest, throw away the Full Ring Mail in your inventory and goto Step 19 again.

22.Now head for the Weapon and Armor store located further down from the Inn.

23.Talk to the Blacksmith NPC (Ferghus) and the Full Ring Mail will disappear from your inventory. The Defence skill quest is now 50% completed.

24.Go back to the Teacher NPC (Ranald) and talk to him.

25.Open the Quest window and click on the Complete button. You've just finished the Defence skill quest. The Teacher NPC (Ranald) will pass you an Action! Defence Skill book.

26.Right click on the book and Read it.

27.Close the book and then select the left button (OK I want to Read the Book).

28.You character will now try to digest the contents of the book. If the character fails, repeat Step 26 until the Defence skill is understood. If the stamina is low or empty, just wait for a while until you have enough stamina to read the book again.

29.Open the Skill window and click on the Get button next to the Defence skill.

30.Go inside the building behind the Teacher NPC (Ranald). Talk to the red hair girl wearing a school uniform (Lassar) until you see your Travel Diary.

31.Click the 3rd option on the first page of the Travel Diary and you will get to see Smash skill in your Skill window.

32.To learn the Smash skill, go to the Blacksmith NPC (Ferghus) and talk to him again.

33.When you see your Travel Diary after talking to Ferghus, go to the last bookmark or page 4 and select the one and only option on that page. If you have spoken to some NPCs other than the ones I've mentioned before, you might see more than 1 options/keywords on this page. In this case, just click on every options you can find in the last few pages of your Travel Diary.

34.Check your inventory. You will find a new book called Easy Steps to Smash Skill.

35.Repeat Step 26 to 28 until Smash skill is understood.

36.Open your Skill window and click on the Get button next to the Smash skill.

37.Now head to the most southern part of the map and enter the next map below. Keep going south by following the path until you see the Wood Cutter NPC (Tracy) standing under a big tree. Do NOT attack the wolves you encounter on your way there.

38.You will be given a quest to gather firewoods while you are on the way to meet Tracy.

39.Talk to the Wood Cutter NPC (Tracy) and you get 50% of the quest completed. You will be given a Gathering Axe in exchange for the Coupon after you talked to Tracy.

40.Find some smaller trees and collect 10 Firewoods with your new axe.

41.Talk to the Wood Cutter NPC (Tracy) again after you have gathered enough Firewoods.

42.Open your Quest window and click on the Complete button.

43.A hunting quest will be given to you once you click on the Complete button. In this quest, you are required to kill 10 adult Brown Foxes near the Wood Cutter NPC (Tracy). By now, you should be at level 2.

Tips on hunting foxes:
-Do NOT kill foxes if you have not learnt Defence skill yet.
-Hotkey your Defence and Smash skills.
-Keep a distance away from the fox after it has fallen from your punches and then quickly use Defence skill to block its incoming attack.
-Attack immediately after you have blocked its attack.
-Do NOT engage more than 1 fox at the same time.
-Try NOT to get yourself surrounded by too many foxes.
-Run away in a straight line if many foxes are attacking you.
-Beware that all mobs can gain level like you players and when that happens, their HP will be full as well.
-Rest when you're low on HP.
-Eat the bread given to you at the start of the game if your stamina is low.
-After killing 1 or 2 foxes, you should gain a level. Open your Skill window and advance your Melee Combat Mastery. Note that advancing a skill requires APs (Ability Points) and APs are harder to acquire as you increase in level. Therefore, it's wise to prioritize which skills to advance first.
-If you have the Critical Hit skill available, get it as well. (Critical Hit skill is learnt automatically after killing mobs.)

44.After killing 10 adult Brown Foxes, open your Quest window and click on the Complete button.

45.Now you should be at least level 3 and have enough gold (at least 200) from the Wood Cutter NPC's quests to buy a Wooden Stick and a Gathering Knife. You will also notice 2 more new quests in your Quest window. One is a Wool collection quest and the other is a Weaving quest.

46.Return to the town and buy the Wooden Stick (100 gold) from the Blacksmith NPC (Ferghus). To purchase items from NPCs, you usually click on the 2nd button (when there are more than 1 button) in the dialog box. I'll let you figure out by yourself what the 3rd button actually does. Hint: It has something to do with your current equipment and money.

47.Now go find the Shepherd boy (Deian) standing near to a wooden cabin located at the far north-east part of the town. Talk to Deian.

48.After you've talk to Deian, you should see that one of the quest is now 50% completed. Yes, this is the Wool collection quest.

49.Talk to Shepherd boy (Deian) again and buy a Gathering Knife from him for 50 gold.

50.Equip your character with the Gathering Knife and click on a sheep to shave its Wool.

51.After you have fetched 20 Wools, return to the Shepherd boy (Deian) and talk to him.

52.Click on the Complete button in your Quest window now.

53.Upon completing the Wool collection quest, you will receive Wings of the Goddess and another hunting quest. This hunting quest is to get a Red Fox Evil Scroll from the Red Foxes located further up to the north-east of the Shepherd boy (Deian). Remember to equip your Wooden Stick before you fight the foxes. I'll leave this up to you to complete yourself because the scroll is a rare drop.

54.Next, head back to the town center and visit the cemetery (just above the Mayor's house) to gather as many Cobwebs as you can. Practice your combat skills against the White Spiders there at the same time.

55.After getting at least 10 Cobwebs, go to the Tailor shop in the town.

56.Talk to the Tailor NPC (Malcolm) and select the 3rd option on the first page of the Travel Diary to learn Weaving skill.

57.Before you start to weave, unequip all your weapons and leave you hands empty.

58.Click on the spinning wheel to use the Weaving skill.

59.Drop 5 Cobwebs into the Production Form and press the Start button.

60.Success rate is usually very low for weaving Cobwebs. You can weave sheep Wools instead but I have not tried it yet. (It's much faster to collect Cobwebs than to shave sheeps.) Keep repeating Step 58 to 59 until you successfully produce a Fine Yarn.

61.Once you get a Fine Yarn, you should see that your Weaving skill is 100% completed. You do not need to GET the Weaving skill because it requires AP, unless you are going to be a Tailor. Also note that you must weave the yard yourself because the quest does not recognize the yard if it is from someone else.

62.After you have made a Fine Yard, talk to the Tailor NPC (Malcolm) again to finish the Weaving quest.

63.Congratulation. You have just finished the beginner's guide. By now, you should have all the basic novice skills and figured out how to complete the rest of the quests in this game. Subsequent quests are for higher levels, e.g. Campfire, Dungeon, Legend of 3 Heroes quest (available in main server only) etc.


There are another type of temporary quests called Arbeits which are explained later below.





Other Quests

Explore Dunbarton quest:
Find and talk to Manus in the second town called Dunbarton and get 500 Exp. You will get this quest after level 6.

Gift of Nao quest:
Talk to Town Mayor (Duncan) and get another free Bread and 100 Exp. You will get this quest after level 8.

Campfire quest:
1.First talk to the Inn NPC (Piaras).
2.Select the 3rd option in the first page of Piaras' Travel Diary.
3.Then click on all the options until no more appears in the pages after the last tab. Note the system messages appearing.
4.Go to the Shepherd NPC (Deian).
5.Click on all the options in the pages after the last tab of Deian's Travel Diary until you receive a Hunting Quest.
6.This Hunting Quest from Deian is to kill 5 Gray Wolves within 1 game day. (If you cannot meet the deadline, cancel the Hunting Quest and repeat Step 4.)
7.After killing 5 Gray Wolves, talk to Deian again.
8.Complete the quest to receive a book called Campfire Manual and 5 Firewoods.
9.Read the book to learn the Campfire skill.
10.Use the skill and drop the 5 Firewoods to make a campfire. (You need to find an empty space to build the fire.)
11.Get Campfire skill to Rank 9.

Dungeon quest:
This is a 3-part quest.
1.Talk to the Guard NPC (Trefor).
2.Go through the first dungeon (Albi?) once. You must open at least 1 Treasure Box after the Boss room. You can either do this alone or in a party.
3.Talk to Trefor one more time. Complete the quest to get 1 AP and 100 Exp.

Legend of 3 Heroes quest:
This quest is only available in main server only. It is very complex and not suitable for beginners therefore we will not discuss the 3 Heroes quest in here.


What time is it?

*Your shadow determines the in-game time. To find out the current time, enable the auto-controlled camera view so that your camera faces north. Imagine your character as the center of an analog clock and your shadow as the hour hand.

*Make sure the ground around you is flat before you look at your shadow or else your readings may not be accurate.

*1 minute (real-time) is approximately 1 hour (in-game time).


Arbeits

*There are repeatable quests called Arbeits which you can get from some NPCs. Devcat has made a cute animation to show how to get an Arbeit mms://vod.nexon.co.kr/mabinogi/lornapan_01_300.wmv (in Korean).

*Arbeits are basically delivery or collection quests. Some of the players call them part-time jobs.

*You trigger them by clicking on the 4th option in your Travel Diary when you talk to a NPC at certain time.

*Once you accept an arbeit, the arbeit info will be reflected in your quest. A picture of the NPC who gave you the arbeit will be shown in the quest box as well.

*Arbeits have a time limit of 9 game hours and will expire if you cannot complete them and/or report to the originating NPCs in time.

*The amount of time left to complete an arbeit is shown on the top-right corner of your screen once you accepted it.

*You are given 1 more minute (real-time) to rush back to the originating NPC with the quest 100% completed to collect your reward, when you see the words "Arbeit Report Time".

*For collection quests, you can still claim 50% of the reward and exp if you can bring more than half the quantity of the items required for the quest back to the NPC before the arbeit expires. For example, you can get 180 gold and 50 exp if you return 3 out of 5 berries to the Grocery girl.

*However, for delivery quests, you must usually complete all the requirements to get the rewards.

*If you fail to complete an arbeit in time, the arbeit info with the NPC picture will be removed from the quest box automatically.

*When you fail a delivery quest, the delivery item becomes useless and stays in your inventory.

*Arbeits are only available in the day. I usually start to gather arbeit items at night.

*Most NPCs, except for the Shepard boy (Deian), give random arbeits. Deian only offers 1 kind of arbeit.

*You can only take one arbeit at a time.

*Different NPCs offers arbeits at a different but fix time in the day.

*Each NPC can only offer a limited number of arbeits to the player in a game day. Therefore, if there are too many players waiting for an arbeit, you might not be able to get one.

*Arbeits pay higher on Tuesdays (Korean Time).


Guide to fast money for beginners

Tir Chonaill's Arbeits:

Here is how you get a decent amount of gold and exp quickly in 1 game day by doing an arbeit course in the newbie town known as Tir Chonaill. (However, I highly recommend you do the arbeit course in Dunbarton described further down in this section instead because arbeits in Dunbarton are mostly delivery quests and more straight forward to accomplish.)


Tir Chonaill During Night Time
-Gather 10-20 Wools from sheeps. (You'll need a Gathering Knife or any bladed weapon to shave sheeps.)
-Gather 5 berries by hitting bushes and trees with your bare hands if you still have the stamina and time. (This is not important anymore since CP1 makes it harder to get berry quests now.)



Tir Chonaill @ 9:00am (High Priority)
-Go to the Potion shop/house north of the town.
-Talk to the Potion NPC (Dilys) who sells potions inside the house.
-Get and accept the arbeit from Dilys.
-Her quests are:

1:Task: Collect 10 sheep Wools.
Exp: +100
Reward: 225 gold

2.Task: Deliver potion to the Town Mayor (Duncan)/Teacher guy (Ranald)/Grocery girl (Caitin)/Shepherd boy (Deian). The destination is random, so it's best you remember the NPC names in town.
Exp: +100
 Reward: 90 gold

Time left: 9 hours.

-Talk to the Potion NPC (Dilys) again after you have 6 hours left for this arbeit. (Dilys will not reward you even if you finished her task before that time.)
-When reporting an arbeit, just click on the first left-most button in the NPC dialog box. Don't click on the second button if you see one since it will bring you to a trading window.
-If you cannot complete the delivery arbeit, throw away the potion in your inventory. This applies to all delivery items for delivery quests.
-Try to complete the Potion NPC's arbeit as soon as possible and do the second wool arbeit. If you have no idea what is requested from you in this arbeit, cancel it and go to the Shepherd boy (Deian) by 10am so that you can proceed to the next arbeit.



Tir Chonaill @ 10:00am but before 3:00pm (Highest Priority)
-Rush to the Shepherd boy (Deian) located in the far north-east part of the town, standing next to a wooden cabin.
-Talk to Deian.
-Accept the arbeit from him.
-His one and only quest is:

Task: Collect 10 sheep Wools
Exp: +100
Reward: 225 gold

Time left: 12 hours

-Immediately talk to Deian again if you have 10 wools already after you have 10 hours left to complete the arbeit.



Tir Chonaill @ 10:00am-11:30am (Low Priority)
-Go to the Inn located directly south of the Mayor's house.
-Talk to the Inn NPC (Piaras) inside.
-Accept the arbeit from Piaras.
-His quests are:

1.Task: Collect 10 Spikes
Exp: +100
Reward: Around 100 gold

2.Task: Collect 10 Firewoods
Exp: +100
Reward: Around 100 gold

3.Task: Collect some Branches (The Korean player told me she took this quest before.)
Exp: Unknown
 Reward: Unknown

4.Task: Delivery quests. These quests usually require you to talk to the Cloth NPC (Nora) outside the Inn and then deliver a cake or a bottle of wine to the Grocery NPC (Caitin) or the Inn NPC (Piaras).
Exp: +100
Reward: 90 gold

Time left: 9-6 hours

-Talk to the Inn NPC (Piaras) again to get your reward after you have collected the items. (If you are going to do the quests for the Inn guy, most likely you won't have enough time to get the Grocery NPC's quest at noon. Furthermore, it pays too little for so much work.)



Tir Chonaill @ 12:00pm Exactly (High Priority)
-Go to the Grocery shop in town.
-Talk to the Grocery NPC (Caitin) who sells food, e.g. bread, cheese, meat, etc.
-Accept the arbeit from Caitin.
-Her quests are:

1.Task: Collect 5 Berries by hitting bushes or trees. (I usually get this quest before CP1. Now it's rare to get this quest.)
Exp: +100
 Reward: 330 gold

2.Task: Collect 10 Barley (using a Sickle) and make 1 Barley Flour at the windmill. (You need to pay the little girl in front of the windmill, Alissa, to use it.)
Exp: +100
 Reward: 330 gold

3.Task: Collect 10 Wheat (using a Sickle) and make 1 Wheat Flour at the windmill. (You need to pay the little girl in front of the windmill, Alissa, to use it.)
Exp: +100
Reward: 330 gold

4.Task: Deliver bread to the Potion NPC (Dilys) or Inn NPC (Piaras). Possible other random destinations.
Exp: +100
Reward: 135 gold

Time left: 9 hours

-Talk to Caitin again after you have 7 hours left to get your reward once you have collected the items.



Tir Chonaill @ 12:00pm-3:00pm (Optional)
-Go to the church which is in the west part of the town.
-Talk to the Priestress (Endelyon) standing outside the church.
-Accept the arbeit from Endelyon.
-Her quests are:

1.Task: Collect 15 Eggs
Exp: +100
Reward: 4 bottles of Blessing Water (Use Blessing Water on your equipment so that they do not drop off easily when you are killed in a fight. You equipment do not get damaged easily as well.)

2.Task: Collect 10 Barley (You'll need a Sickle to harvest in the fields.)
Exp: +100
Reward: 4 bottles of Blessing Water

3.Task: Collect 10 Wheat (You'll need a Sickle for this as well.)
Exp: +100
Reward: 4 bottles of Blessing Water

Time left: 9-4 hours

-Talk to the Priestress again after you have 5 hours left to get your reward once you have collected the items.



Tir Chonaill After 2:00pm
-Go to the Blacksmith NPC (Ferghus). His weapon and armor store is located further down from the inn.
-Talk to him and accept his arbeit.

1.Task: Deliver mail to random NPCs. (Make sure you have enough room in your invertory to accept this arbeit.)
Exp: +100
 Reward: ??? gold

Time left: <6 hours

-Talk to Ferghus again after you have delivered the mail to get your reward.



Tir Chonaill Before 4:00pm (The last possible available arbeit for the day.)
-Go to the Tailor NPC (Malcolm). His shop is inside the town.
-Talk to him and accept his arbeit.

1.Task: Deliver some clothes to the Grocery NPC (Caitin)/red hair girl (Lassar) and report back to the Tailor guy. The destination is random as well.
Exp: +100
Reward: 90 gold

2.Task: Unknown. I guessed it is some job that requires you to make something. Anyone has information on his quests?
Reward: >1000 gold

Time left: <3 hours

-The trick to complete most arbeits is to memorize certain Korean keywords like "Berry", "Wheat", "Barley", "Egg", and all the NPC names in the newbie town.

-You can do up to 5 arbeits in 1 game day if you can organize your time and quest items properly.
-If you are very lucky and encounter all the high paying arbeits, you can earn up to >800 gold in 1 game day.
-Repeat the arbeits the next day until you get a decent amount of money to buy a Short Sword or Hammer since it is a good weapon for a novice.




Dunbarton's Arbeits:

Before you start to fill up your money bag, you may want to familiarize yourself with the names and pictures of the NPCs in the second town called Dunbarton here http://www.mabinogi.com/4th/2_info1_dunbarton.asp.

The following arbeits are arranged in such an order that you should be able to finish all of them easily (except for the tailoring and blessing water arbeits) if the server is not too populated.


Dunbarton During Night Time
-Gather 10 Wools from sheeps in the west fields outside Dunbarton. (You'll need a Gathering Knife or any bladed weapon to shave sheeps.)
-Gather 5 Berries by hitting trees with your bare hands if you still have the stamina and time.



Dunbarton @ 9:00am Exactly (Highest Priority)
-Go to the Potion shop which is located in the south-eastern part of the town.
-Talk to the Potion NPC (Manus) who sells potions inside the Potion shop.
-Get and accept the arbeit from Manus.
-His one and only quest is:

Task: Collect 10 sheep Wools.
Exp: +100
Reward: 225 gold

Time left: 9 hours

-Talk to the Potion NPC (Manus) again after you have 6 hours left for this arbeit. (Manus will not reward you even if you finished his task before that time.)
-When reporting an arbeit, as always, just click on the first left-most button in the NPC dialog box. Don't click on the second button if you see one since it will bring you to a trading window.



Dunbarton @ 10:00am-11:00am (High Priority)
-Go to the Public Office (the biggest building in Dunbarton).
-Talk to the office lady (Eavan) standing at the Public Office.
-Accept the arbeit from Eavan.
-Her quests are:

1.Task: Deliver Pearl Necklace to the Blacksmith NPC (Nerys) located in the south-eastern part of Dunbarton.
Exp: +80
Reward: 110 gold

2.Task: Deliver Ginseng to the Potion NPC (Manus) also located in the south-eastern part of the town.
Exp: +80
Reward: 110 gold

Time left: <7 hours

-Talk to Eavan again after you have 6 hours left to get your reward once you have the delivery items delivered.



Dunbarton @ 11:00am-12:00pm (High Priority)
-Go to the shops located in the west part of the town.
-Talk to a moustached NPC (Walter) standing outside one of these shops.
 -Accept the arbeit from Walter.
-His quests are:
1.Task: Deliver Cubic Puzzle to the Bookstore NPC (Aeira) situated in the north-eastern part of the town .
Exp: +110
Reward: 75 gold

2.Task: Deliver Empty Bottle to the Potion NPC (Manus).
Exp: +110
Reward: 75 gold

Time left: <8 hours

 -Talk to Walter immediately again after you have finished the delivery to get your reward.



Dunbarton @ 9:30am-12:00pm (Highest Priority For Players With Tailoring Skill, Optional Otherwise)
-Go inside the Clothing shop next to Walter. There is a spinning wheel outside the Clothing shop.
-Talk to the funky NPC (Simon) in the Clothing shop.
-Accept the arbeit from Simon.
-His quests are:

1.Task: Deliver Suit or Dress to Manus, Nerys, Stewart or other random NPCs.
Exp: +90
Reward: 90 gold

2.Task - For Tailors Only: Make a couple of Suits/Dresses/Caps. (All you need is Tailoring Skill and a Tailoring Kit, and then use the skill as per normal with the materials provided upon acceptance of the arbeit. You cannot use your own materials for making the quest items. Also make sure your inventory has enough space to accept the materials from Simon. If there are too many players doing arbeits at Dunbarton, you may want to skip the arbeits prior to this. For more details on Tailoring Skill, read the section on Doll up your character.)
Exp: +150
Reward: >500 gold

Time left: 12-8 hours

-Talk to Simon immediately again after you have 7 hours left to get your reward once you have finished the delivery or tailoring.
-Try to finish this arbeit as quickly as possible so that you won't miss the next important arbeit.



Dunbarton @ 12:00pm-2:00pm (Highest Priority)
-Go to the Bakery shop between the Public Office and Walter.
-Talk to the granny NPC (Glenis) who sells bread, cheese, meat etc.
 -Accept the arbeit from Glenis.
-Her quests are:
1.Collect 5 bottles of Milk. (Bottles will be provided. Just go find a cow outside Dunbarton in the south-western/south fields. Equip a Bottle in your hand and click on the cow to milk it. This is probably the most anticipated arbeit for anyone in Dunbarton.)
Exp: +100
Reward: 450 gold

2.Collect 5 Berries by hitting trees.
Exp: +100
Reward: 330 gold

3.Deliver Large Cheese to Blacksmith NPC (Nerys).
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

4.Deliver Large Meat to Potion NPC (Manus).
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

5.Deliver a Piece of Cake to Bookstore NPC (Aeira) around the north-eastern part of town.
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

Time left: 9 hours

 -Talk to Glenis again after you have 7 hours left to get your reward.



Dunbarton @ 12:00pm-3:00pm (Optional)
-Go to the church which is in the north-west part of the town.
-Talk to the Priestress (Kristell) standing outside the church.
-Accept the arbeit from Kristell.
-Her quests are:

1.Task: Collect 15 Eggs
Exp: +100
Reward: 4 bottles of Blessing Water (Use Blessing Water on your equipment so that they do not drop off easily when you are killed in a fight. You equipment do not get damaged easily as well.)

-Talk to Aeira again immediately to get your reward after you have finished the delivery.



Dunbarton After 3:00pm (High Priority, Last Available Arbeit)
-Go to the weapon store at south-east part of the town.
-Talk to the Blacksmith NPC (Nerys).
-Accept the arbeit from Nerys.
-Her quests are:

1.Task: Deliver Candlestick to the Priestress (Kristell) located in the north-west part of Dunbarton.
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

2.Task: Deliver Tailoring Kit to the funky NPC in the Clothing shop (Simon).
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

3.Task: Deliver Full Ring Mail to the moustached NPC (Walter).
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

4.Task: Deliver Ring to the old lady at the Bakery shop (Glenis).
Exp: +100
Reward: 85 gold

Time left: <6 hours

-Talk to Nerys again after you have 5 hours left and get your reward once you have finished the delivery.
-This is the last arbeit you can get in Dunbarton for the day.
-Repeat the arbeits the next day as many times as you wish.


P.S.: Note all the above requirements and rewards are for beginners only. If you repeat the same arbeit for 50 times, you will be promoted to receive intermediate arbeits in the next round. You'll get advanced arbeits after you've done it 100 times. The requirements and rewards for intermediate and advanced arbeits are totally different from what are stated above.


About Dungeons

To enter a dungeon, you simply drop any item on the platform at the entrance.

The paths and rooms in the dungeon changes everytime when you drop a different item at the entrance. Your map displays the paths and rooms of the dungeon located north of the newbie town near the Guard NPC (Trefor) once you enter it, whereas the rooms in the second dungeon which is in the direction of the Shepherd boy will only be revealed after you've explored them.

There is only one level in the first dungeon (Albi?) and the boss in the last room is a big spider.



The last permanent quest (you get it automatically from the birds) requires you to talk to the Guard NPC (Trefor), go through this dungeon with a party (you can do it alone but not recommended if you do not have a decent weapon), defeat the boss, claim the treasures and return to Trefor.

There are three levels in the second dungeon (Kia?). The boss in the second dungeon is a giant stone golem.



There are 2 more dungeons near the second town, Dunbarton. The Koreans called them Mars and Rabi Dungeon. Mars is in the east while Rabi is in the west.

The boss (or rather bosses) in the Mars (or some called it Mas) Dungeon are 3 Hellhounds.

The boss in Rabi is a Succubus if and only if you solo it, otherwise Goblins and Golden Goblins will fill the last room.



The third town called Bangor has a mining dungeon. The Koreans called the mine Bari Dungeon. The bosses in Bari is a hord of Orcs with big hammers.


Cheapest Way To Learn Magic

 To learn offensive magic, speak to the red hair girl (Lassar) in the building behind the Teacher NPC (Ranald). Choose the 5th option in the first page of your Travel Diary when you talk to Lassar.

You need to pay 4000 gold first to learn magic. After you pay Lassar, you will not get Magic skills immediately. You have to attend her classes in the morning at 10:00-11:00am. Go to Lassar the next morning and click the same 5th option in your Travel Diary to take her lesson. You have to attend a total of 3 separate classes (including the one you attend when you pay 4000 gold) in order to get your first magic skill, which is Icebolt.

You don't need to buy any spell books from Lassar to learn Icebolt. To learn fireball and lightning magic, you'll need to pay another 4000 gold and 7000 gold respectively, and repeat the above steps again. The sequence of learning magic from Lassar is fixed, that is ice, fire and lastly lightning.

I recommend that mage users should acquire their skills as described above instead of buying books even if you don't need ice or fire magic. (It is not compulsory for you to GET all the spells before you can learn another.) You willl get INT after you learn the last magic from Lassar.


Heal is a support magic and as the name implies, it rejuvenates your health point but NOT heal your wounds. You need a skill called Firstaid to heal wounds which is discussed in the next section.

In order to get Heal skill, you need to buy a book called "Healing: The basic of sorcery" from Lassar and use it. It costs 9800 gold. By the way, books are non-transferable items.


Medic! Medic!

To acquire Firstaid skill (heals wound), get deadly damage and talk to the Potion NPC (Dilys) immediately.
Safest way to get deadly:
-Get an arbeit from the Blacksmith NPC (Ferghus)
-Injure yourself and get your Life to around 5-9
-Cancel the arbeit (the arbeit title actually adds 10 Life temporary)

You need Bandages to use Firstaid skill.





Got a weight problem?

*If your stamina is full and you continue to eat, you will become fat.

*Fat characters are stronger and regenerates HP and stamina faster.

*Eat berries (when your stamina is not full) to loose fat.





Doll up your character

*You can make your own clothes instead of buying them from the Tailor guy. To make your own clothes, you need to buy specific items from the Cloth girl (Nora) standing outside the Inn.

So far I only know how to make a Popo's Skirt. You will need:

-Tailoring Kit x 1
-Tailoring Manual (Popo's Skirt) x 1
-Cheap Cloth x 1
-Cheap Dye x 1
-Common Dye x 1

-Then equip the Tailoring Kit on your character's left hand first, then place the Tailoring Manual in the other hand.
-Click on your Skill button and use the Tailoring skill. (You automatically get Tailoring skill once you equip the 2 items mentioned.)
-Now place all the other items you just bougth in the Production Form and click on the start button.

*You need a higher ranked Tailoring skill to make some other clothes.





Party time

*You can get extra money and exp in a party when the leader uses the party scrolls.

*Party scrolls can be bought from the Guard in full armor (Trefor) near the northern dungeon, the Shepherd boy (Deian), or the Town Mayor (Duncan). Note that these 3 NPCs sell different party scrolls for different type of mobs.

*Party scrolls have time limits as well. If you can't kill certain number of mobs at certain time, your party won't get the extra money and exp.


*Below describes the various sections of the Party window.




Section A - Party List
Shows the names of party members who have joined your team.
Section B - Party Settings
Option 1: Party Invitation
Option 2: Leave Party (If you are not the leader, you will only see this option.)
Option 3: Set Password
Option 4: Surrender Leadership to Member (You need to highlight a member in the party list.)
Option 5: Kick Party Member (You need to highlight a member in the party list first.)
Option 6: Change Party Name
Section C - Party Scrolls
You activate a party scroll here. You require a party with a least 2 members (including the leader) to use this.
Section D - Finishing Settings (3 Options)
Option 1: The member who deals the greatest damage will be able to finish the mob. If a member solo a mob, there will be no finishing move.
Option 2 (Default): Unknown. (Seems like random finish.)
Option 3: Anyone in party can finish a defeated mob.
Section E - Exp Sharing (3 Options)
Option 1 (Default): Exp is shared equally.
Option 2: Member who finishes the mob takes half the exp and the balance is shared equally among the rest of the party.
Option 3: No sharing of exp. Finisher takes all.





It's alive!

*To revive a dead player other than yourself, you need to use a Feather of Phoenix on the dead body. You can buy it for 100 gold from the red hair girl in school uniform (Lassar) who teaches magic.

*You can purchase the Feather of Phoenix from the Potion girl (Dilys) too, but she will only sell you feathers in multiple of 5.

*CTRL+J is the keyboard shortcut to use the feather.





Hunting tactics with a sword

White Spiders/Foxes/Raccoons (Easy):
1.Run up to a target and hit all you can before it falls to the ground (You can use smash instead if you think your Smash skill is stronger.)
2.Keep a distance from the target
3.Watch the target's reaction
4.If the target charges at you, keep running until it slows down or else do step 5
5.Use Defence skill and wait for the target to charge again (Defence skill takes time to activate.)
6.You will be able to block its attack with your defence and then hit it as hard as you can again
7.Repeat step 2

Wolves (Tricky):
1.Run up to a target.
2.Hit all you can before the target falls to the ground.
3.Use Defence and keep a distance from the target immediately.
4.Keep an eye on your target and see if it flashes (it is using a skill when it flashes).
5.If the target does not flash and rushes at you after it has fallen, it is using a normal attack. Your Defence skill should be able to block it. Once you defended, do step 1.
6.If the target flashes and rushes at you right after it has fallen, it is going to use Smash. Quickly cancel your Defence and hit the target. After you whack it, do step 3.
7.If the target flashes and starts to bark at you, go next to the target and wait. (Do not cancel your defence yet.)
8.If the target circles around you, try to get as close to it as possible.
9.When you are close to the target and it flashes, immediately cancel your Defence and do step 1. You must hit as soon as it flashes or else it can dodge your attacks.
10.If it uses normal attack, defend and do step 2.

Bears (Hard):
1.Before you attack a target, find the closest tree for cover
2.Run up to a target and hit all you can before it falls to the ground
3.Run towards that tree and hide behind it (This will interrupt its rush attack on you.)
4.Wait for the bear to use its Defence skill.
5.Repeat step 1 (I'm not sure about this part... I only played with a party when it comes to hunting bears. The other party members usually take advantage at this moment to hit the bear when it is caught behind the tree.)





Potions

If you have healing potions, press H to use them. (You cannot hotkey potions like in RO.)

Press J to use mana potions.

Press K to use stamina potions.





About Enchant Scrolls and Enchant Skill

*Enchant scrolls can alter your character's stats when you use them on your equipment e.g. shoes, sword, dress, etc.

*There are different types/ranks of enchant scrolls which you can find throughout the game.

*The higher the rank of the enchant scroll, the harder it will succeed in enchanting your equipment. If you failed to enchant an equipment, the durability of the equipment will reduce and in worse cases, you might even break your equipment, i.e. Durability: 0/0.

*Enchant scrolls which are easiest to find are the ones from the chests in dungeons after you killed the boss. Before CP2, you can easily find enchant scrolls from wolves.

*There are "good" scrolls and "bad" scrolls. The good ones consists of only blue text while the bad has red text. Use only those with blue text.

*Enchant Skill can help to increase the success rate of using the enchant scrolls significantly. (80% success rate for F rank scrolls with Enchant Skill!!!)

*To get Enchant Skill, you must first get hold of Magic Powder. Once you put the Magic Powder in your left hand, you'll automatically learn Enchant Skill.

*There are two ways of getting Magic Powder. One way is to hunt for it in dungeons other than the newbie dungeon. The other way is to get someone else who has Enchant Skill already to make Magic Powder for you by Enchant Burning.

*Ingredients for making Magic Powder by Enchant Burning are:

-Blessing Water x 1
-Mana Herb x 1 (Mana herbs are dropped by Will-O-Wisp)
-Any enchanted item x 1 (e.g. Snake Hunter Popo's Skirt of Topaz dropped by wolves. An items is enchanted when you see blue or red text in the description.)
-Campfire

*When you burn the enchanted item in the campfire while having the blessing water and mana herb in your inventory, you will see an option called "Enchant Burning" (provided you have the Enchant Skill). Click the "Enchant Burning" button to make the Magic Powder.

*There are 4 outcomes when you enchant burn:
(1) You get Magic Powder.
(2) You get Magic Powder and Enchant Scroll(s).
(3) You get Enchant Scroll(s).
(4) You fail to enchant burn.

If you fail, you will get some EXP for burning the enchanted item instead. Whether you succeed or not, the blessing water and mana herb will be consumed.

*The reason why we are using enchanted item to enchant burn is because this process can "reverse" the enchant property on the enchanted item back into an Enchant Scroll, which you can use it later on other equipment. (And don't forget, only use Enchant Scrolls with blue text.)

*To use Enchant Skill, equip the Magic Powder in your left hand, place the Enchant Scroll in your right hand, and cast Enchant Skill to use the enchant scroll. Note the higher success rate displayed before using the enchant. After casting, if Enchant Skill is successful, the targeted item will be enchanted and the items in your hands will disappear. However, if Enchant Skill fails, you may or may not be able to re-use the Enchant Scroll again.

If you are lucky, you may come across an item dropped by a mob called Field Boss Info Scroll. When you use this scroll, you will see an announcement telling everyone near the spawn area exactly when, where and what boss will respawn soon. This scroll is NOT a field boss summoning scroll like the dead branches in RO. Regardless you use it or not, the field boss will still appear. It is up to you to share the information.

Take note that the Field Boss Info Scroll can expire like your enchant scrolls. Once the field boss has spawned, the Field Boss Info Scroll is useless.


Now, if you want to know what the announcement says, you of course have to know how to read a little Korean.

This is how you interpret the announcment in the below example. The announcement says, "The player named 버닝앤즈 has let us know that Giant Ogre will appear 3 days later South of its respawn location."




If the number of days falls below 3, you will see Korean characters instead of a number in the announcement.

When you are very close to a Field Boss which has just respawned, you will see an announcement like this:

It says, "Giant Ogre has arrived around north of spawn location!!"


If you kill and finish a Field Boss, your name will be announced like this:

It says, "The player called Lachesis has killed the Giant Black Wolf!"


Tip: The punctuation will give you an idea of what kind of announcement is being broadcast.
