Introduction
Welcome to the world of MMORPG.
Runescape is a brand new world of gaming if you are new to online RPG. There are people playing it from all
over the world. In your process of
playing, you might have new goals, new insights. It would be indeed a fun-filled
experience. Moreover, this is a
free game, or otherwise more of a ※Demo§ version to the whole game. This is because
you can pay to join members, which gives even more game play.
However, after playing for a long time, the game does get slightly
boring because of routine.
Moreover, as this is a game within the realm of the cyber world, there
are sure to be people who are unfriendly, selfish or even irritating. However, at the end of
the day, its best for you to enjoy yourself.
Once you get the hang of the game, attain reasonably high level, you
could also chose to take your game to a higher level, by paying a little, and
you will get to be a member of Runescape.
When that times come, you can refer to Daniyal1*s
RS Member [P2P] Survival Kit
This guide aims to give newbies an advantage over others. You can skip the basic steps of having
to learn everything by scratch because you*ll be able to learn the ropes
quickly with the help of this guide.

General Guidelines
1) Be Nice.
Although sometimes people may not treat you the same way, but being nice
is a sure good way to make friends and learn the game better. Since you are new
to the game, its good to have friends to be able to
help you/
2) Explore the map
Print one hard copy for reference in the beginning. Then spend 1 day for pure
exploring. Its
always good to know your way around, so next time you know where to train
skills.
3) Make friends
Don*t only think of curry favoring those high level people you see. It*ll only irritated
them. However, make friends with
those who are of similar levels with you.
As you progress, they will progress too. Who knows, you might end up befriending
a rune smither?
4) Be Cautious
Basically, the world of Runescape isn*t as nice as it seems. There are scammers at every corner.
First rule: Do not go to any web pages advertised in the game. They are normally scam sites.
Secondly: Rumours are never trustworthy. Whatever someone says about an item,
unless you confirm it with a reliable source, if not you shouldn*t believe
it. It would normally be just an
attempt to scam.
Thirdly: Never believe something that*s too good to be true. Free Rune items are never
existence. Be it by pressing some
funny string of keys, going to some place, or giving someone to upgrade, they
are all scams.
5) Don*t Beg
Really#Why should you bother beg?
You should be self sufficient.
Begging pisses many people off, and earns yourself
a bad name. Besides, you*ll earn
money and stuff in no time
6) Learn to manage your bank
Although your bank seems really huge, but once 1 week into the game,
it*ll probably be full. Because you
are new, generally, you*ll be picking everything you see. However, like it or not, this is all the
space you have. Some basic bank
management skills:
- Throw away all quests items once you are done [only keep silverlight and maybe accuracy amulet]
- Throw away Things that you don*t* need but you aren*t willing to.
- TRY not to multi task. As
you embark on the training of one skill, try to complete training it before
changing your focus. If you mined
300 ore, then decided to collect runes for training, and halfway go fishing and
cooking, your bank space is doomed
- Sell if un-needed but wanted by people. Check the general price guide to make
sure you aren*t being ripped.
7) Learn your prices
This is very important. It*s
really to prevent yourself from being ripped. For starters, you can refer to
Aliq121*s
General Price Guide. This gives you a general idea of what
things are worth. Secondly, stay
around the Varrock market place area. You*ll see many negotiations for rune
items, rare items are huge stocks of items (Feathers, arrows, runes) going
on. From there, you get a general
idea of the price. This is to make
sure what you buy and what you sell are always worth it for you.

Places of Interest
Lumbridge 每 Heaven for Newbs
This is the default respawn point for all
characters. In other words, when
you first enter the game, when you die, when you get unsubscribed from members,
you will end up here.
Although this place is populated with noobs, I
really wouldn*t suggest you spend too much time here. Firstly, there aren*t many good monsters
to train on here. Also, the respawning air runes and mind runes may seem tempting, but
hold that temptation. Because, all
you*ll do is waste your time. These
are the few spots that you*ll be using for the time being#
Interest Spots
1 Mind Rune Respawn (South Wing of Castle)
1 Bronze Arrow Respawn (North Wing of Castle)
1 Air Rune Respawn (East of Bob*s Axes)
Spinning Wheel (South Wing of Castle)
1 Pot Respawn (In kitchen)
1 Jug Respawn (In kitchen)
Farm Areas 每 Runescape*s Domestic Fields
The farm area would be an area you would have to stay in for quite a
while. Many quests have some
relation to this area.
1. Cow Farms: Filled with Lvl
8 cows. Both farms have a few trees,
so these are generally good spots to train your cooking and combat at the same
time. Especially when you are low
on HP, chop some wood, start a fire, and cook the meat.
2. Chicken Farm: There are 2 egg respawns,
and 1 bucket respawn
here. On top of that, there are
chickens for you to train on. They
are level 3, generally fast respawning, but often
crowded
3. Potato Farm: Nothing very important here, but it*ll
be good to keep this in mind when you ever decide to make stews (Add Cooked
Meat, Potato into a bowl of water, then cook. Lvl 25
needed)
4. Wheat Fields: Before you
gain access to the cooking guide, the only windmill available would be here in
the farm areas. There are 2 wheat
fields for you to pick from. To
make flour:
1. Pick Wheat
2. Go to 3rd floor of windmill
3. Use wheat on hopper
4. Operate hopper
5. Collect flour on first floor with a pot
5. Sheep Farm: This would be your initial supply of balls of wools, both
for the sheep shearer*s quest and making of amulets. Its very simple
to get wool here, just kill a nearby goblin, get some gold, and pop by the
general store to buy shears. After
that, just start shearing.
6: Cabbage Field: Hungry for greens? Pop by here. Nope! I won*t suggest you visit here
unless you are truly bored.
7. Farmer Fred*s Farm: A
small chicken farm which is a good starting point for range as well as combat
training. The sheep shearer*s quest
can also be obtained here.

Newb Skill Guide
Here, I*ll kick start you in every aspect of Runescape.
= Combat =
After tutorial island, you*ve probably seen how
the battle system goes. Basically,
a brief guideline would be here.
Attack VS Defence
Imagine in a battle. You and
your opponent each have your attack phase.
During an attack phase, the attacker*s attack, X determines X-sided
dice, while the defender*s defence, Y determines a
Y-sided dice. Both dice are
rolled. If attacker*s roll is
higher, he hits. Or else, he misses
or hits 0. Therefore, defense does
not REDUCE damage. It prevents
damage.
Help Needed: I cannot
figure out how Armour Rating and Weapon Aim plays a
part yet. Can the person who knows
PM me. Thanks (You will be duely credited)
Strength
The formula for your maximum damage is:
Strength + Weapon power / 1.5
Then as usual, a dice with N sides, where N is your maximum damage is
rolled. So this basically determines the amount of damage you can do.
HP
Simple#Like any other game, this determines the amount of damage you can
take. HP in Runescape recovers over
time at a slow rate.
Also, that little bar above your head determines the HP. Green means healthy and Red means dying. If you are in high red, and your enemy Is still in high green, a good option would be to run.
To recover HP, you can eat food, or enable prayers to increase the rate
of healing.
Monsters* Aggressiveness
Monsters in RS have a few level of aggressiveness. Firstly, it*ll be those
timid type. These won*t attack you,
and if attacked, they will run if they are low on HP for 3 turns. They do not chase you if you run.
Next, there are those peace loving creatures, who
won*t bother you if you leave them alone. These will fight to the end, but will let
you run.
Next you have the guards (not the lvl 28
guards, but the type). They are normally guarding something, and will only
attack you if you carry out a certain actions. These will not run, but will
give chase.
Most of the time, this happens in quests. Next, there are the partial aggressive. These are those who will attack you if
you are within the 8 squares surrounding it. However, when they are low on HP for 3
turns, they will turn tail too. If
they are still ※healthy§, they*ll give chase if you run.
Lastly, there are the fully aggressive ones. All wilderness monsters have this mode
on. As such, they will attack you,
and will fight to the end, and will chase you as long they have 1 HP left.
Running
Like in most RPGs, when situations turn unfavourable, the solution would
be to run.
In RS, you can only run from a battle after 3 rounds of blows being
exchanged. Many newbies die to the
most basic monsters because they don*t run, or don*t know how to run.
How to run:
1. After the 3rd time you hit the enemy, get ready to click
2a. If the monster does not give chase, simply
click anywhere outside the battle field where you would have the default action
as ※Walk here§
2b. If the monster will give chase, click on a
very far spot, preferably as diagonally as possible. [Corner of Map] When you reach there, click again. 2 clicks normally would leave you out of
range of the monster.
* While running, look out for light blue spot along the route. If these are present, change your escape
route slightly. These may pose as
possible obstructions, which will stop you.
Training
The different modes of training determine the EXP you get as well as how
you perform in battle. If you
choose controlled, you*ll progress rather slowly, since you are spreading all
EXP equally (1/4 to each stat). If
you choose any of the other modes, you will give 3/4 to that stat and 1/4 to
HP, and none to the other 2 stats.
This is more specialized training.
For beginners, I suggest you get all 3 stats to 20. It*s reasonably ok to carry out all
other quest from there except the few tough ones. Train you attack
first, then strength, then defense.
This way, you get to hit more first, then hit higher with your new
weapon, and get hit less.
Of course, there are many other ways of combinations, and you can and
should explore which is your favourite.
The monsters to train on for the time being have been mentioned in the
places of interest.
= Cooking =
Ah! Food.
This is basically the fastest way to heal your hits when you get
injured. Food also reduces fatigue
slightly. As the tutorial island
cook said, you*ll get to cook more things as things progress.
Well, I*ll start things off for cooking for you.
Quick Training:
1. Take a sleeping bag, tinderbox, and any hatchet in your inventory
2. Head to World 1 Cow Pen at Lumbridge or Chicken Farm at Falador
3. Pick up meat lying on the floor
4. Head to a nearby tree, chop it down, and set up a fire
5. Cook away, and watch your levels fly!
If you want to have some fun while cooking, start by making#BREAD!
1. Complete the Cook*s Quest [Refer to online guides]
2. Head to Lumbridge castle.
Get 10 pots and 10 Jugs.
Fill the Jugs up with water.
3. Head to Draynor Wheat Field, Pick 10
Grains, and head to the 3rd floor of the Windmill
4. Click on 1 grain, click on the machine, then
click on the machines. Repeat 10
times.
5. Get to the first floor, use your pot on the
floor to collect it.
6. Return to Lumbridge Castle
7. Use 1 water on 1 floor, and choose bread
dough. Repeat for all.
8. Cook the bread dough, and
you get fresh bread (#that looks like peanuts :lmao:)
Note: You*ll be burning many of the food, but don*t be too
affected. You*ll burn less as you
proceed in levels
When you*re cross the level 10 barrier, you*ll have much more options,
refer to a good training guide here:
