The Guild of the Light Hand

    The Guild of the Light Hand is the largest Thieves' Guild in Karness, the best pickpockets and Cut Purse's in the land. They have perfected the old secrets, and have mastered the shadows.

     They also have the habit of forming parties of thieves to perform certain jobs.This results in not only (usually) better results, but builds teamwork and efficiency within the guild. Most guilds do not even try this, but it works well, as there are very few betrayals within the guild, certainly much less than are found in the normal, smalltime guilds.

     Something that is known only by a select few is that the Guild of the Light Hand is secretly run by The Shadows, the finest assassins' guild in Karness, so for all purposes they are treated as one. When one has climbed the ranks of the Light Hand and is truly a master of the art of stealing, and the Guildmaster feels they are ready, they are taken apart and are secretly initiated into The Shadows. It is often rumoured that those who are promoted betrayed the guild, and were thus, ah, removed. Great care is taken to ensure that noone of the Light Hand meets a Shadow.

     Those who are newly initiated are referred to as Urchins, reflecting their relative lack of skill. Most who join the Guild join when they are children, and thus most likely unskilled in the thieves' art. They gain the protection of the Guild, and access to the Guild's missions.

     If a skilled thief joins the guild, or an Urchin has taken part in three missions (Urchins are not skilled enough to perform the missions that can be worked alone) then they are given the rank of Rogue. They gain the skill of Shadowstalk, allowing them to walk among the shadows without being seen, except, perhaps, by an extremely observant and keen-eyed person.

     When they have completed five missions for the guild or taken part in five missions for the guild, and grow even more skilled, they are promoted to the level of Light Hand, and given the guild's trademark, a Shadowsuit. It is enchanted to blend with the environment, and this, combined with the thieves' skill, is enough to remain completely hidden from view.

     When they have completed ten missions for the guild, and have reached the rank of Slayer, they are brought into the Shadows.

     The Guildmaster (who secretly reports to the Shadows) is Kertan Botel. She is a skilled thief, and that combined with her beauty and charm are enough to get whatever she wants. She is a Human, and has the strange ability to learn most anything she sees unnaturally quickly.

     Requirements:
Urchin: Must be a Cut Purse
Rogue: Must be a Urchin
Light Hand: Must be a Rogue

     Skills/Items Gained
Urchin: Guild Protection- Protection of the guild and guildmaster
Rogue: Shadowstalk- Walk among the shadows unnoticed
Light Hand: Shadowsuit- Makes you invisible in the shadows
