This is a play-by e-mail roleplaying game. We are trying to run an RPG through e-mail.
The basic rules are simple. You do the role-playing – I(the GM) do all the dicing and statistics. You tell me how your character act in a particular situation and I will tell you about the consequences – quite simple eh? In essence that is all you need to know at first.
Each turn beginns when I send over a description of the situation at hand. You as a player in turn send me and your co-players a description how your character will act in a particular situation. All mails within the game has to be sent to me and the ones you are playing together with(use the CC function in your mail program), unless you are in situation where the other characters are not present. In that case you only send your response to me.
Here are few further notes that might come in handy as we begin to play:
Response time
The game has no set schedule. However I think we will have to have at least two GM postings with following player responses each week. If there is time we can move faster. If you can't stick to this mailing scheduale then do send a mail to me. If you don't respond in time you will hold up the game. That is unless you let me know that you can't respond in time. If a chracter stay passive for longer period of time it will turn into a non-playing character( an NPC) that is controled by the GM.
Skill and success within the game.....
Once you receive your final character sheet you will see a number next to the abilities listed on the character sheet. In order to figure out what they stand for you will have to know the following........
Your characters ability to perform a certain skill at a given situation is determined by this formula:
Base value x Difficulty level = Chance of Success in Percentage
The difficulty levels are….
Easy 7
Normal 5
Hard 3
Extremely hard 1
For example the character Jerry has base value of 4 when it comes to using computers. Jerry wants to hack a codeword and this is a rather difficult task thus the difficulty level is 3. 4 x 3 = 12% The GM rolls 2and 4 on a ten sided dice. That is 24. Jerry failed to hack the computer.
You are always entitled to request the difficulty level before your character perform a certain action. If your character has clear picture of the situation at hand I will tell you if the action is easy, normal, hard or extremely hard to perform.
Mutations.....
Each mutation has it's own set of rules. I will tell more about the these rules when your character's mutations has been picked.
A final note....
The sole purpose of this game is to have fun. The more dedication you put into the game the more interesting it will be for me and I when in turn do a better job as GM.
