Age:Unknown. First contact in Chronicles was a sighting in 874, by Watcher Daffyd Ap Rhyus, in what is now Algeria. Took Quickening of Li Kao (See Chronicle #CUL874).

Build/Appearance: Slight, but wiry. Culsu (if this is her real name, and it seems to be), appears to be a normal, if very fit, prepubescent girl.
Distinguishing Characteristics: None identified. Culsu has no scars or permanent marks that have been seen. Apart from her apparent age, Culsu is unremarkable.
Nationality:Unknown. Possibly Italian (See Chronicle #CUL1347) as she knows the area well and seems to have spent much of the 1300’s there. A case can also be made for North Africa or Spain.

Appended note: The name "Culsu" is that of the Etruscan Goddess of the Underworld. If this is her given name, she is probably either Etruscan or Latin and very old indeed (2000-2500+), although I doubt any parent would name their child after a demon, so this may not be her true name.

Fighting Style: Follows the rules of the Game to a point. Employs traps and trickery and only fights when cornered and cannot run to Holy Ground, her preferred method of dealing with Challenges. When forced, Culsu uses dirty tricks, street fighting, and a variety of martial styles designed to tire her opponent and give her a chance to run or to strike a killing blow.

This kid is a whirlwind! I’d read the Chronicles and was prepared for an easy first assignment (thanks Frida!) but who should come along but Jason Cavanaugh.

Can't we do something about her living conditions? I know we're supposed to watch and not interfere, but she's living on the street and it looks like she's not doing too well. It's not as bad as Denver, but I'm afraid, with the country the way it is, it might come to that. Anyway… Cavanaugh was passing through town and I think he Challenged her just because TCBOO. Not hunting, per se, but not passing up an "easy" kill, either.

He had her cornered in this alley, and it looked bad. Cavanaugh is huge and she's so small, but out comes that pretty little sword of hers and, oh mama! She can fight! I know it was hinted at in the 912 Chronicle, but she's a tiny little force of nature with that tiny little sword. Even though I've watched her do that exercise she does every morning, I never would have suspected.

She cut Cavanaugh to ribbons, wore him out completely, and then ran. She didn't take his Quickening (relax, David), but high-tailed it to a church on W54th Street and stayed there until he went away.

By the way, she's going by Emily (Emmie) Brown right now. Just for the record.

Can I at least give her a blanket?

Inclinations in Game/Demeanor: Would rather run than fight, but will defend herself when cornered. Most of her kills seem to be either vengeance related or self-defense.

Personality: Culsu is a chameleon. She blends in very well, vanishing into the background, making it very difficult to Watch this particular Immortal. She seems to prefer cities, or has in the past, and prefers to live on her own whenever possible. She is very watchful, very careful of her surroundings, almost to the point of paranoia, and rarely moves far from Holy Ground. It is hard to tell what of her personality is Culsu and what is an act. She is *very* good at acting the part of a child.

She is known to be loyal to friends, when she makes friends, which is rare. A few mortals know of her, apparently. Steve Owan aka Spider and Nell Owan aka Big Nell have been a haven for her many times since the 1960's, so they must know about Immortals, or at least about Culsu's immortality. She gives her trust rarely, but well, since there has been no public flap from that quarter.
History: Very little is known about Culsu. Even her name is questionable, although Li Kao was known to have been searching for a child immortal by this name shortly before his death. She travels quite a bit, following the Silk Road to China, then back to Europe with a merchant train, then to England and Wales.

Given her youth, she has had a difficult life, as many parentless children do. There is evidence that she has lived as a slave more than once, as a prostitute, and has resorted to thievery on multiple occasions. With the advent of child labor laws and social service organizations, she has lived more safely in foster homes and such, but she routinely runs from these situations.
