Taharic
(noun): the written language of the inhabitants of the Tahari that has a
somewhat floral appearance. It differs from standard Gorean, in that it only
has four of the nine vowel sounds. The vowel sounds which are represented have
tiny marks near them, like accent marks.
Vowel sounds which are not explicitly represented, must be inserted by the
reader. At one time in Taharic, apparently, no vowel sounds were represented.
Some Taharic scholars, purists, refuse to continence vowel signs, regarding
their necessity as a convenience for illiterates.
Anyone who can read printed Taharic will have no difficulty in following
cursive Taharic. The men of the Tahari are content to form their letters
carefully and beautifully, being fond of them.
To scribble is generally regarded not as proving oneself a swift efficient
fellow, but something of a boor, insensible to beauty. Taharic letter
formations/characters are not availabe on earth communication devices,
therefore the English translation is being provided for those who wish to learn
of it. Taharic is referred to in Book 10, Tribesmen of Gor
