His skin is also tanned, making his eyes jump into view. General attitude: Ehecatl is a free spirit, like the wind, and he is always in a seemingly good mood, although his former education - before becoming a shinobi- makes him obey orders without question, if they come from somebody he believes is a superior. This is a characteristic that he does not like about him. History: Ehecatl was born on a remote and peaceful kingdom. He was the son of the messenger of the last Tlatoani (emperor) of his kingdom. During his early years, he was blessed by the High Priest of the Quetzacoatl temple, so he would grow to continue the tradition of his family. He also received a Spirit Companion, called Itzcuauhtli. This particular spirit appears to Ehecatl in the form of a silver feathered eagle. Itzcuauhtli gave him a feather, and blessed him with the ability to “run like the winds”. A few years later, a group of people that came from a nation overseas, of whom his people had no knowledge about, appeared in their territories. This event occurred during the time Ehecatl’s people were expecting the gods to return and live with them. Therefore, his people mistook this group as the messengers of Quetzacoatl, and gave them a welcoming fit for gods. Unfortunately, this group of persons were not gods, they were conquerors and started plundering the cities. Once the High Priest was aware of his people’s mistake, it was too late. The conquerors, after discovering that the High Priest knew their intentions, promptly murdered him and the other priests, desecrating the Temple. This action triggered the anger of Ehecatl’s people. Unfortunately, his people, although skilled with their weapons, where no match for the iron armors and the swords/crossbows/general weaponry they brought with them. They started killing the people. An old wizard, named Vincent Baldwin, was with the conquerors. The soldiers, knowing that Vincent was an old, but terribly powerful wizard, had placed him in a camp, to where they sent soldiers that required healing. Almost all the soldiers sent to Vincent’s camp where hurt by their own companions, because they thought that they could fool Vincent into thinking the people in this region were savages. Vincent was not a fool, and he had seen many battles in his time, so he became suspicious by how the soldiers showed the same slashes… all of them. Vincent used a combination of the Genjutsu “teleport” and his own western magic to teleport himself into the city. When he saw what his people had done, he felt horrified. He walked to the palace of the Tlatoani, where the leader of the expedition was, and saw that he had just slained the messenger, father of Ehecatl and the Tlatoani was nowhere to be seen, probably being interrogated about the riches of his people. Vincent then noticed a blur. Using his magic powers, he casted a paralyzing spell. The spell nailed its target, a little boy that making his way to the exit doors of the palace. Vincent took the child’s hand, and, by using his magic, made him understand that he would not harm him. Returning to their own country, leaving a ravaged civilization that didn’t survived much after that, Vincent then traveled to another land, taking the young Ehecatl with him. During the journey, the boy learned a few healing spells, as well as Vincent’s native language. When they reached to their destination, Vincent told him that he was taking him to visit the leader of the Seven Winds sect, and told him a little about the sect and what was happening on this kingdom. The leader of the sect, a long time friend of Vincent the Wizard, accepted taking the boy into his custody, after learning about the demise of Ehecatl’s people, and because Vincent, believing that the sect was a few messengers short, could use the boy abilities. The Shinobi Lord told him that no, by the time they were fine, but he took some curiosity about Ehecatl’s civilization, and took him in as a special favor to his friend the wizard. The boy was trained in the basic arts of the shinobi, learning… well… the basic steps of combat, hiding, so on and so fort. When the new sects where formed, the Shinobi lord sent him to the Golden Dawn, where he continues his training. Additional: Ehecatl and Painal, in Ehecatl’s language mean “wind” and “messenger”. This were common names in his family, for all the first sons where named like these, so they could continue serving the Tlatoani. He is very proud of his heritage as a messenger and gets offended easily should somebody try to mock him of his chosen profession and of his people. Ehekatto is the way the shinobi lord pronounced his name when Vincent introduced him to the lord, and has become used to be called Katto by the rest of his Geinen companions. Drive: He is generally driven by a desire to make Vincent proud of him, since he was the one that took care of him and gave him the opportunity to become a Shinobi. He feels grateful for that, and, by the way, Ehecatl is not a resentful person. He is not driven by a desire to exterminate the persons that destroyed his kingdom. |
