Guild Overview

Most of the guilds for RO thus far that I have seen either support a lawful morality (helping others, being nice, etc.) while others support a more chaotic approach to the game.  This guild will have a clan for each of these views.  The Clan of Light will live up to certain lawful expectations, while the Clan of Dark will have certain liberties, though some restrictions will apply.  When applying, be sure to state which clan you want to be affiliated with.  In general, members of this guild will stick together, no matter what their allegiances may be.  This guild will offer players an opportunity to get together with people who they can trust and have fun with.  Guild activities will include, but are not limited to boss hunts, hunting in general, item hunting, trading, and maybe contests down the line.  Guild members will be ranked according to a point system based on Base levels, Job levels, and the length of time you have been a member of the guild.  The equation used to determine your points is a follows:

Points = [(Base Level + 1) x 500] + [Job Level x 100] + "Bonus Points"

Job levels will include previous levels from other classes, thus a thief would have his/her current Job level value in addition to the levels that he/she gained as a novice.  Bonus points can be earned in a variety of ways.  These ways include major acts of in game kindness, awards, and points bought (though this is not available to members when they first join) at the current rate of 150zeny per point.  The following table show the current breakdown of point rank system.

The Clans

Clan of Light

Your rival is the Clan of Dark.  Even though you despise their ways, however, you understand that they are a part of your guild and are as necessary as you are.  This is not to say, however, that you accept the fact that anyone else not in your guild who follows the ways of the Dark is necessary.  You are generally a good natured player and stand up for the way of the Light.  You respect the rights of other players, never jumping into a fight unless needed, never looting from another player, never initiating or instigating hostilities with neutral and friendly players.  My expectations of a member of the Clan of Light include helping players in need, respecting the game play of others, being generally friendly toward other players, being honest and fair to other players in your dealings with them.  Members of the Clan of Light are also expected to respect and refrain from being hostile towards members of the Clan of Dark.  Complaints, if any, should be made know to a guild leader.  Even though you may despise them, they are still your fellow guild members and should be treated as such.  member list

Clan of Dark

Your rival is the Clan of Light.  Even as they do, however, you understand that they are a part of your guild and are as necessary as you are.  The members of this clan vary in their degree of darkness, ranging from kill stealing and minor looting to open belligerence and grand theft (rares).  Whether your motive is entertainment or plain brutality, you enjoy bringing your darkness upon others.  You may respect the rights of other players, but you generally don't.  My expectations of members of the Clan of Dark are few.  I expect you to be the dark player that you are.  My one real expectation of you, however, is to refrain from attacking in any way the Clan of Light.  They are your fellow guild members and should be treated as such.  This clan is not, however, an excuse or a  legitimate reason to loot, scam, or harass other players.  Members of the Clan of Dark understand that their seat in this guild is not permanent and can be revoked should a member become a problem.  If other players complain to me or any other guild leader repeatedly, a warning will be issued.  Continued complaints may lead to more serious actions.  Moderation is the key to your survival as a member of the Clan of Dark.  Use your own judgment in who you plague.  Hacking is not allowed in this guild.  I will not tolerate those who use, make, or distribute hacks.  Any member caught doing any of the above will be banned from the guild.   member list

FAQ

Q---Why is the legend rank so hard to achieve?

A---When making the ranking system, I wanted a rank that would be very hard to obtain.  The legend rank is meant for the most dedicated RO players.  Remember that points can also be gained through all sorts of contributions, contests, awards, from me for no apparent reason, and they can be bought, though the price is steep.  The high ranks are not meant to be a discouragement, only a goal for you to obtain.  Will you be the first Guild Legend?

Q---Will "The Guild of  Shadows" appear on my status window next to "Signed Guild"?

A---At this time, Ragnarok Online does not support the guild function.  Eventually, your guild name will be displayed in your status window and guild will have an official role in RO.  Until then, guilds remain unofficial organizations.  Rest assured that I will get a guild house as soon as they are implemented.
