You want this to be the
greatest gaming experience of your life, and that’s a tall order. If
you’re expecting a carbon copy of FF7, then you’re going to be
real pissed. It’s a love
story – all right a Japanese love story, which makes it pretty weird
– but still a love story.
Where Cloud fought against the might of Sephiroth, Squall wrestles over weighty
issues
like should he get into bed with her on the first date? Okay, It’s not
that trite but you’re
still gonna need a strong stomach to face some of the “ Oh, you big
MEANY,” bits of
Dialogue.
The story unfolds over two different time zones, one in the past and another
in the
present, with not just one set of smooching, but two. A series of flashbacks
send you
back and forth between controlling heroes Squall and Laguna, both with serious
romantic strife. Most of their problems stem from a group of time tinkering
witches who
seem keen on world domination. So it’s our heroes’ task to
smack up the hags, save the
world and get their end away as many times as possible – sound
like your average
Saturday night to us.
