The Important Rules
- No characters created by Anne McCaffrey can be used, in any way. Your characters can't be related to them either, and they can't have similar names.
- No religion, magic, or war on Pern.
- Other universes, whether created by Anne McCaffrey or other people, will never be involved with Pern.
- Golds will only Impress to women. Bronzes will only Impress to men. Our own specifications beyond that are listed farther down on the page.
- Benden Weyr and Ruatha Hold are off limits. They are copyrighted by Ms. McCaffrey. Furthermore, they were never even built in our timeline.
Evening Mists Weyr Rules
- NO flaming other members. Please be courteous at all times. Please also understand that if your characters are fighting, we don't need to be as well. Remember, we're all friends here, but our characters don't necessarily have to be.
- Listen to Administrators. They're only trying to help you.
- Never use another player's persona(e). This goes for their dragons, pets, or NPC's as well.
- Timing it, or going between times, is unknown in our timeline and off limits.
- Candidates must be perfectly healthy or they may not Stand. Blind, deaf, paralyzed or pregnant candidates cannot be accepted. Riders who were disabled after Impression are fine within good reason.
- HADs, or Hears-All-Dragons, are very, rare, empathic people. The opposite, completely Dragondeaf people, are rare as well. There will only be a few of each in the whole game at one time.
- All dragon names must end in -th. Respect your dragons, don't use pun names (i.e. K'mart, Megadeth).
- Dragons in our game Impress as listed:
Gold -females
Bronze -males
Brown -males
Blue -males and rarely females
Green -females and males equally
- Anyone may have pets. Fire-lizards, canines, felines, and runners are available. Ask about metallic fire-lizards first, though.
- The following are things that require Admin. notification and/or approval.
New characters
Births, Deaths, and major injuries
Metallic fire-lizards or dragons
Mating flights for dragons
Winner of a Goldflight for dragons
Color distribution of clutches
- The following are how speech is to appear during roleplay:
Human speaking out loud, "Hello, Wingleader!"
Private human thoughts, **I hope I Impress!**
Human privately to dragon, 'Let's fly, Bronzeth!'
Dragon to human, Okay, ridermine,
Firelizard emotions, ~~Hungry/tired~~ (Fire-lizards don't use actual words)
- The word /between/ is to be written in backslashes in the context of dragons teleporting.
- This is just a simple request, please do your best to try to use good grammar and spelling. No one will bite you if you don't, but try for everyone's benefit, and don't send 'me too' posts. Please attempt to make it at least a decent paragraph.
- The following are the usual Flight guidelines:
Gold Dragonflights will be approved by the Admin. Please make a request to have your Gold rise at least a few days beforehand.
The owner of the female that has risen will notify the admin of her choice via a Neomail after the male catches her. This is only for record purposes, it is the player's choice, not the Admin's.
- And here are normal Clutching guidelines:
All dragon clutches are monitored.
Only Gold dragons may clutch. Greens were rendered to be sterile by Kitti Ping and through the use of firestone.
Gold clutches need to be approved for size and colours! The clutch owner gets to hatch and assign dragons.
Fire-lizards don't thrive well in the wild here, the northern-temperate climate shortens their breeding season. As a result finding a wild clutch just doesn't happen without approval. The tame fire-lizards here do clutch, and if you get to them fast enough, you can save the eggs and keep them warm. You flitter lays an egg, you handle the hatching. Green flits can lay greens, blues, and browns, but are not often worth the trouble.
