Upon realization of the Duchy of Zeons newtype test facilities in Granada, the Federation started designing Newtype use weapons of its own. Two of these units were the NT-00 GM Juggler, and NT-01 Alex. The GM Juggler, the first in the Newtype use's design series, mounted a stolen Psycommu Unit, taken out of a testing bay for compact versions at Granada. While the Federation tried to decipher the unit, it was built into the enlarged backpack of a normal GM Command, for testing purposes. Without its various add-ons, the GM Juggler is essentially an RGM-79GS GM Command, albeit one specially modified to work in both Terrestrial and Space climates with the same equipment. It's design features and weaponry are exactly the same, the only difference being its lack of a shield mount on the left arm, and the Psycommu unit, which in and of itself is a great advantage, giving the pilot an unprecedented reaction time, and control of remote weaponry. However, the GM Juggler has a pair of "add-ons" that it can use, making it much more powerful than any normal GM Command. Special armor plating can be added, giving the suit an equal amount of damage absorbing capability as one of the many Luna Titanium armored Federal mobile weapons. The real bonus, however, is the use of the GM Jugglers "Attack Weapons Pods". A different design than Zeon bit devices, the weapons pods each mount a pair of beam guns on manipulable pincer arms, giving the so-called Ball Bits more attack power at both long and close ranges than a normal bit. However, they are also much larger, and are less effective for their original role. The GM Juggler was assigned to the Newtype Test Pilot Sabine Rocos, who took it on quite a roundabout journey during the war. Defecting to the Zeon at the battle of Constantinople and then back to the Federation at the battle of Odessa, killing Garma, and ssinging her way out of execution at Court Martial, many people are eager to know what her final fate will be. |
90mm machinegun. Standard issue weapon for GM-type mobile suits. It is more compact and easier to manage than the Zaku's 120mm, but it lacks a substantial ammunition supply. |
