Erikkson von Bernadotte
![]() Age: 47 Height: 5'9" Hair color: balding (wears a wig) Ethnicity: Swedish Blood type: B Famous/Frequented quotes: "Sergeant, would you please get out of your bunk. My quarry lies underneath it." "Oh, excuse ME for WINNING Admiral." "The bathroom? Ah, take a left at that birch, go until you come to a pair of cedars, it's right behind the blackberry bushes." "Yes, yes, this is my ship. I know, there are trees in the hallway." "Allright you bloody Zeon, now its personal. Nobody shoots at my wine cellar and gets away with it." Ship: Customized Revised Salamis EFSF Copenhagen Ship Profile: The Copenhagen, first of the Revised Salamis line, is somewhat an odd ship. Erik's daring tactics at the battle of Lourm, though claiming the destruction of 2 Musais, a Chivvay, and more than twenty enemy Zakus, left his Salamis class flagship crippled and nearly useless. To show appreciation for his amazing, and yet completely unconventional combat record, the EFSF decided to use his crippled ship for the first of the planned Salamis refits. Sporting laser-barelled AA turrets instead of conventional guns and three powerful, though slightly badly placed, double-barelled main guns, and more single barelled guns and missiles overall, in addition to a much larger group of engines, the Revised Salamis class is quite superior to the ordinary Salamis, though perhaps still not as powerful as a Magellan class battleship. However, Bernadotte has always loved the Earth, and never liked being off of it. Therefor, his ship is a little... Special. The Copenhagen, when not in combat or docked, is always set to spin counter-clockwise at a fast pace to give it some gravity. This is necessary, because Bernadotte had his entire manor from Sweden transplanted into the ship. Dirt, trees, foxes, horses, gentlemans club, wine cellar, everything. His wife and children even live there. The hallways had to be widened extremely, and a lot of rooms were removed (it's common for people to not have beds, and sleep in trees, for example), but it actually has a great effect on troop morale. Probably because of the wine cellar.

Captain Errikson von Bernadotte is your ordinary Earth Federation officer. He was born in Sweden, sheltered as a child, taught how to be noble and chivalrous, never had any lack of money, and went into officer training school at an early age. He does however have one thing seperating him from the rest of the Federation. He wins battles. Born in UC 0032, Errikson von Bernadotte was raised to be a noble military boy. His father was a naval officer, his grandfather was a naval officer, and so on and so forth, and until he was about 16, it was generally decided that he would be one too. However, when Bernadotte was 16, his childhood sweetheart moved to the newly created New Italy colony on Side 3, and he, in his youth, decided to follow her. They married as soon as they turned 18, and would later have 3 children.. Erik has always been a romantic like that. Very polite, very poetic, very noble, he is in every single way the quintessential gentleman. He loves to read, go out in nature, fence, drink, go hunting (preferrably fox hunting). But he has also always loved the thrill of Naval combat, so when Side 3 declared its independance from the Earth Federation and started an officer training school, the young Erik gladly signed up. Quickly learning and mastering the new techniques of space combat, Bernadotte was definately at the head of his class. It was even thought that he was a newtype, though probably one of low ability, he was sent to the Flanagan agency and could never develop his abilities. It was generally assumed that he would lead one of the ZMF's assault fleets in taking out the Federation military. However, one day in UC 0072, he was asked to a special meeting with Degwin Sodo Zabi, where he was told of the plan to engage in war with the Earth Sphere. Degwin asked him to take a command of a squadron of Chivvay class cruisers, but Erik regrettfully declined, pointing out that his father was a ship captain in the EFGF Atlantic fleet, and he couldn't fight against his own family. As Degwin was not Ghiren, he understood, and Erik moved back to Earth with his family, promising not to divuldge any of the classified information he had learned of the Zeons strategy. You could say his plight was taken right out of the American Civil War. He was given command of a small fleet of Salamis class ships, numbering 9 of them, but declined, saying instead "All I want is 5 of the new model Salamis (the one equipping beam weaponry) and a pair of Colombus class ships." The EFF brass considered this an insult from an upstart captain, but gave him his request anyway. As the One Year War began, Bernadotte and his fleet were stationed at Side 5, and participated in the fateful Battle of Lourm. His squadron reportedly did better than any other in the combined EFF fleet, actually managing to lose less ships than they destroyed (barely), and generally proving that they were invulnerable to attack runs by nuclear bazooka equipped MS-06 Zaku II C's. He would have done much better, if it hadn't been for the ZMF ace Shin Matsuraga, who got behind his fleets blind spots and took out two of his cruisers and crippling the Copenhagen before being chased away by Saberfish pilots. However, due to the fact that he used his ships the same way the Zeon did, his accomplishment was generally looked down upon by other EFSF officers. No ship commander in the Federation likes Bernadotte. Unless they happen to be in the Copenhagens gentlemans club.
