Universe - DC Team - The Bat-Family (Leader) Allies - Batgirl, Nightwing, Azrael, Jean Grey, Superboy, Raven, Spiderman, Iceman Enemies - The Punisher Bio - Though regarded by many Gothamites as an "urban legend" built on superstition and fear of the city's darkened streets, Bruce Wayne knows all too well that the Batman is a cold, hard reality of his own fabrication as the only person he can trust is his trusty butler, Alfred Pennyworth. Since his parents' death in Gotham Citys dreaded "Crime Alley," Wayne has spent his life in pursuit of physical and mental perfection in order to wage unrelenting war on crime. Bruce seeked up the best as he trained under various scholars and martial artists to reach full mental and physical peak. After years and years of extensive training, Bruce returns to his now decaying Gotham City, which is overrun by organized crime and other dangerous individuals manipulating the system. Watching over Gotham's streets from its gargoyles and parapets, the Dark Knight is the city's last best hope against evil. And it is this obsession that drives the Batman, for Wayne has vowed that no innocent should suffer the pain he has endured. In his third year Bruce took in a ward of the name of Dick Grayson who was an acrobatist in a circus but tragedy struck as his parents were murdered during a dangerous stunt. Bruce saw much promise in young Dick as he trained him to hone in his vengeance and use it for good under the guise of the Boy Wonder, Robin. After years of fighting crime together Bruce had no choice but to retire Dick after he was shot by his most dangerous enemy, The Joker, but Dick stepped out of the Dark Knight's shadow and wandered off into the world much like how Bruce did. The Caped Crusader found a young orphan named Jason Todd whos parents were murdered by another one of the Batman's dangerous enemies, Two-Face. Batman saw much promise in the boy and took him in as the second Robin. Jason was reckless though...and so full of rage as it would lead to his tragic and brutal death by the hands of the Joker...after holding the lifeless Jason Todd in his arms, Batman vowed never to endanger another in his battle against evil. That vow would be lifted as the daughter of Police Commissioner Jim Gordan, Barbara Gordan would join him in his ongoing fight as she seems to have more of a passion for fighting crime than Dick and maybe even Bruce himself, she would become Batgirl, the shadow of the bat. Bruce now finds himself early in his seventh year of fighting crime as he has allied himself with Commissioner Jim Gordan of the G.C.P.D (Gotham City Police Department) to assist the Batman on his continous war on the underworld of Gotham City.
