“…true power is never known until it’s too late…”
Scene setter- Early morning, the morning light is just barely peeking above the trees. The birds are singing loudly, and aside from having chores Chakrin's day is going pretty well too. He and Tapion are discussing the need to transport water from the river to the house.
“Tapion you have got to be kidding me!” Chakrin said rather angrily. “This damn water container weighs a ton!!! How am I supposed to get it back to the house? Don’t you have a water pump or maybe city water? That might taste weird but you wont have to work for it! This is crazy, freakin’ cra…”
“Shut-up! I can do it without the slightest effort, you pathetic weakling!” Smiling as only Tapion can.
“I don’t doubt it a bit but how would you do it?” Asked Chakrin inquisitively. “And what happened to a GRADUAL increase in weight?” Making finger bunny-ear quotes as he said gradual. “This is like a 700 pound increase, you crazy bastard!”
“1100 actually, but close enough. You’ll figure it out. Just think about it for a bit, it’s really easy,” he said as he walked back up the path toward the house.
“Hey wait! What are you talking about? Its UPHILL!” Yelled Chakrin.
A simple wave of Tapion’s hand was his only reply before rounding the bend in the path.
“No freakin’ way! That old man has completely lost it now,” said Chakrin looking at the water container. “What could be so easy about moving this? How long can I go without water at the house?”
Thinking about the horrible smell that would take over the house if Tapion had no shower.
“Ok, lets move this now!” He said, rubbing his hands together.
Then it hit him…no, really, it hit him. A rock nailed Chakrin right in the back of the head!
“O Fuck!” Holding the back of his head feeling a warm liquid run over his fingers, watching his surroundings start to spin. Reaching out he grabbed the edge of the water container, trying to keep from falling over.
“You FREAK!” Came a distant voice from above. “You think that hurt, take this!” Turning toward the voice to pin point its location Chakrin can see a Konatsian boy about six feet tall, with the full battle dress uniform on, leading an attack with four other boys. All at once they started hurling rocks at him. Slowly Chakrin let his hands fall to his sides, standing there, he took the punishment. Not even thinking about letting them get any satisfaction out of making him run and hide. When they finally ran out of ammo they jumped down the tree from branch to branch following their leader who was much faster and agile then they were, watching them until they were all standing two arm-lengths away from him, staring at him with ridicule. Slowly moving around, they surrounded Chakrin.
“Hey you green freak!” said one of the other boys. “HEY, I’m talking to you!” as he picked up a rock and threw it at Chakrin’s head. Ducking just in time to hear it whiz past his head, the rock hits one of the other boys right between the eyes.
“Ouch! You idiot, who’s side are you on?” He said rubbing his face.
“Shut-up you morons!” Said the leader. “I’ll handle him.” Crunching his knuckles as he flexed his hands.
“Why do hate me so much?” Chakrin asked, slowly moving into a defensive yet battle-ready stance.
“Because your not like us, your not true blood. You’re just a half-breed from that half-breed planet earth. Or at least that’s where you claim to be from. We all know about your birth in a test-tube!” He said, starting to laugh. Soon followed by the other boys.
Feeling the pain of no past and the relentless torment from the boys start to grow, Chakrin slowly make fists, ready to give them all a run for there money. “Shut-up! All of you!” He yells at them. Making them laugh even more.
“Or what? Are you gonna run home and tell your mommy?” He said, laughing even harder than before. “Hurry run home and tattle you half-breed! Your mom is waiting for you” Everything started moving in slow motion now. The words were clear, but his mouth was moving too slowly to form the words. Laughing at him, all of them were laughing at Chakrin. Throwing their heads back in such extreme pleasure of making so much fun of him. None of them noticing the rage in my eyes the hatred toward all of them. None of them noticed the strength growing in him waiting to be released in immeasurable force. None of them noticed the ground dying under his feet and slowly moving out in a radiating circle until finally, Chakrin snapped.
Lunging toward the leader, yelling at the top of his lungs, Chakrin laid into him with such a right-hand punch that it knocked him off his feet and sent him flying 20 feet through the air into a tree, knocking him out cold. Turning around to see the next victim slowly taking a step back with his hands raised and eyes wide, Chakrin grabs him by the arm and pulls him toward him so quickly his victim’s arm is dislocated. Pulling him up onto his shoulders and doing a 180-degree spin and falling toward the ground holding his victim’s head on his shoulders, letting his body fall toward the ground. Smashing into the dirt, his face is smashed into Chakrin’s shoulder, almost driving the victim’s nose into his brain. Chakrin immediately gets up, so quickly infect, that the dust hadn’t even settled from his lunge toward the first guy.
In such a blind rage that he can’t control his own strength, he again searches for his next victim. Seeing two of them running into the forest at very impressive speeds he smiles evilly and turns again looking for someone’s body to decimate. That’s when he sees the last one of them running toward him at full speed with a 6-foot branch ready to swing it at Chakrin and try and stop his rage. Seeing him run at him only made Chakrin smile a sick and wicked smile. He wanted to feel pain, true pain, and in so he let the next future victim slam the branch into his side. Immediately it snapped in two. Sending the other half flying wildly behind him smashing into the water container causing it to slice through the container and slowly the water started pouring out until it broke the seam and rushed out like Niagara falls.
Holding on so tightly to the other half of the branch, the new punching bag spun on his heels from the force that he put into his swing. Reaching out, Chakrin grabs the end of the branch stopping the punching bag’s insane spinning, looking at him with narrowed eyes, wild with revenge. The new victim stared back with wide eyes, scared of what is yet to come. Slowly pulling the branch toward him, drawing him closer until Chakrin placed his hand on his enemies and slowly with crushing force, he held on without strain.
Hearing him yell in pain only increased Chakrin’s own strength. Slowly he felt a slight twinge on his lips, then into a grin and eventually into a smile until he started laughing almost uncontrollably. The punching bag stared back at him with terror, trying to run away knowing he wasn’t going anywhere.
Laughing into the sky until suddenly, Chakrin stops. Looking right into the eyes of the boy. Mouth open, showing his teeth in a very sinister way. Before releasing his hand saying,
“Run.”
As if a track meet had started and without hesitation he took off towards the trees not looking back, as he came to the spot where his first friend was KO’d, the tree to the left of him was destroyed in a fiery explosion.
“I SAID RUUUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You no good piece of shit!!!,” screaming almost uncontrollably now firing blast after blast aiming wildly, hitting everything in front of him, Chakrin was absolutely unstoppable. When suddenly, from what seemed like a very distant place, he heard a voice. It was very familiar, yet he couldn’t make a connection as to whom it was. Gradually the voice grew louder until it was in his head and completely unavoidable. It was Tapion.
“CHAKRIN!” he said, “Stop this at once, its over!”
Breathing heavily now, feeling his arms drop to his sides he slowly took deeper breathes until he had regained a normal breathing pattern. Blinking quickly, as the sudden immense power he had never known before left his body. Chakrin dropped to his knees. Looking around until he saw Tapion with the 2 other boys cowering behind him, before everything went black and he dropped to the ground slamming his face into the dead earth…
