Hail friend! My name is Tyluna, and I am the Guildmistress of the Brotherhood of Light. If you are here it means that you have some interest in joining our guild. Below is a time line of the guilding process and some of policies.

Day 1 -
(a) Read the charter and guild rules under the structure link above.
(b) Apply on our message board under the appliaction forum telling us about yourself. Please copy and paste the template we provide.
(c) One of the officers and/or guildleader will contact you through the message board and/or email. We will also start looking for you online.
(d) It is advisable to meet some of our guild members and get to know them in groupings.

Day 7 -
(a) Your application is reviewed on the 7th day. (Depending on situations this maybe sooner) This is to give the guild and officers time to get to know you, and for you to get to know us. The seven days may be extended up to, but no longer than 3 weeks if you are not online that often. Patience is a virtue!
(b) Officers take the information guild members post on the message board under the new applicants forum and vote on acceptance. They look at your personality, how you handle yourself in a group, your game play, your attitude towards the game and players.
(c) Your in!

RULES

Though we welcome all people into our ranks, we do have some policies we must set to make the gameplay and guild fun. If you feel that the guidelines dont follow your game play, then maybe this is not the guild for you. We are a structured guild and guildlines are a necessity.

(1) Non acceptance as a member at this time in no way indicates that guild members dislike the canadidate, or that any grudges exist. A good player with a good attitude may not work in our guild due to different perspectives of the game. Whatever the reason may be, the Guild Mistress with speak with the candidate and convey the information with sincerity and frankness. The candidate will not be "left in the dark."

(2) The main task of the Guild Mistress is to develop a solid group which enjoys playing together without discord. The officer vote is designed to prevent any addition of members that would be a divisive influence.

(3) Although, the Guildmistress is the ultimate decision-making authority, officers of the guild have nearly equal authority to Guildmistress Tyluna to better assist, enforce, and make sure the guild runs smoothly. Decisions are made with an officer vote, so listen to them and respect what they do and say.

(4) If perhaps you have an old feud with a member that you would like to remedy, make a strong effort to do so before applying.

(5)If issues arise between yourself and another player, remember that you are expected to uphold the name of BoL. If there is a problem, don't make a scene; take it to tells, to their guild leader, or to Tyluna. It is highly important to maintain our good name.

(6) We are not perfect beings. We all make mistakes and sometimes rub others the wrong way. We as a guild are focused on maximizing the enjoyment of DAoC through challenging and rewrding gameplay. We look for individuals that can rise above petty issues, base their actions on good moral decisions, and remain mature in the face of adversity.

(7) We are committed to working with our realmmates to defeat the opposing realms on our play server. Our goal is *not* to compete with our realmmates, only work with them for the gain of all. We only hurt ourselves and our realm when we dont work together.

(8) We do not tolerate behavior consistent with a "grief" player,(intentionally pulling mobs on another realm player, or trying to kill them) in any form. If you don't have the social grace to avoid griefing or harassing other players, do not apply, period. There are other means to handle a frustrating situation.

(9) As a guild member, you should make it your goal to assist your guild brothers and sisters in any way you can. Should someone have a question or need of your help, (directions, help with a quest or task, etc.) you should offer if you can. This isn't an enforced rule, but it is strongly encouraged.

(10) If you need to vent your frustrations, we don't mind. We do not prohibit profanity or L337 5P34K in guild chat, but we do ask that you keep it to a minimum. Please respect the other members of the guild that do not partake in this.

(11) Lastly, make sure you are applying for the right reasons. Review our charter and policies carefully. We are not babysitters and we don't give handouts to beggers. We are not a bank, nor here for you Powerleveling convience. Although it does great service to us all to see our membership well equipped, we strongly recommend that you not EXPECT it. Everything you receive in this guild you will take part in earning. It is the investment of effort you make on behalf of your friends that will in turn reward you in the long term.
