Final Fallacy SE is basically a special edition of the last demo released of Final Fallacy. Is the demo any longer with new plot? Nope. But there are some new neat features added to make it worth your while, probably.
First of all, likely the single biggest problem everyone had with Fallacy to begin with was the battles and statistics. Well, I sucked at them. Battles were either too hard or too easy, and there was no balance. So what did I do? Balance it? Nope, I made it ridiculously easy. All character levels are now at Lv50, and all random encounters are gone. That means there are only boss fights and event battles. So you can breeze through the demo easily, no fuss no muss. And also, some will really like this, I gave an option to skip the raft ride. I don't find that hard personally, but a lot of people did, so they can now skip it if they want.
Also included are improved town graphics for Nirik and Allefel. Yes, only Nirik and Allefel have updated graphics, Salaam, Metsu, Apura, Tril, etc have the same tired old RTP sets. Think it looks out of place? Oh well. Also, cave areas have new graphics as well.
Probably the biggest addition is a bonus dungeon. I won't be saying anything on how to get to it, activate it, or what have you. It's not exactly hard to find, so I doubt anyone will have trouble. The point of the bonus dungeon is just to show off a map I made back when I was still working on Fallacy, right before I quit. So it was never released to the public before now. Please keep in mind that any events that may happen in the bonus dungeon have been omitted and will not have any revelence whatsoever in Fallacy 2. So pay no attention to anything that happens there, it's just for fun folks. There's also a neato character select screen in the bonus dungeon, so you can put whoever in the party.
So, no challenge, no new plot, and just a bonus dungeon. What's the point you may ask? Well, just to prep people for Fallacy 2 really. There may be some who never played Fallacy, or haven't done so in awhile. If you want to refresh your memory, go ahead and play the special edition.
