This is a poem that I read, a while ago, and it seemed to fit one special friend I have. His name is Blake, and he's been my hero in the online game we play, since I started, and he's been there for me through quite alot of hard tiems as well, so Blake this is for you.
Hero
I live my life one step at a time.
Going day by day.
I wander life's path aimlessly,
trying to find my way.
At times that path gets dark,
but then a light shines through,
and I see you've come to rescue me
and take me home with you.
You take me to a new world
that without you I wouldn't see.
You've become my inspiration
and such a role model to me.
When my goals can go no higher
you give me something to aim for.
You've taught me not to settle
and to always seek for more.
You're accomplishments overwhelm me.
I wish I could do the same.
I gather courage from your picture,
which I've placed inside a frame.
I feel so real around you,
like I have nothing to hide.
You make me feel so brave,
instead of petrified.
You're like an older brother.
You see me with different eyes.
You'll always tell the truth to me
and never feed me lies.
You help me find the difference
between wrong and right,
and when I need to talk
I can call you day or night.
It's no question that you're there for me.
Your shoulder's soggy from my tears.
You open up your heart to me
and listen with both ears.
I've learned so much from you.
I've become someone new.
You've helped me become stronger.
Now there's nothing I can't do.
I thought of you as a friend at first,
but now I truly know,
you're ten times that and more to me.
You are my hero.
