Stadium Walkthrough

Battle Now!:

This mode is for players who just want a quick PokeBattle. You will start off with 6 already set Pokémon, each depending on what player you are. Each are level 50 and are basic Pokémon.

Event Battle:

This is the Pokémon Stadium VS mode. You must have 2 controllers, each with a Game Boy Game Pack with a Pokémon game inserted. You can set a time limit, and play according to the rules in the many Cups.

Options:

This is where you set the game options such as the sound and data settings.

Pokémon Stadium:

The Main Menu. Here are it's sections:

  1. Stadium: Single-Player mode. Battle in the Cups for Trophies.

  2. Free Battle: This is the 1-4 Player mode. You control 1 team with a
friend and compete in a unruled battle.

  3. Gym Leader Castle: Another Single-Player mode. Battle against the Gym Leaders
    from the Game Boy version!

  4. Pokemon Lab: This is where you can organize all your pokemon/items. This place
allows you to trade and view a Pokédex with all you pokemon listed.

  5. Victory Palace: Statues of the Pokémon who have won are placed here.

  6. GB Tower: Play Pokémon Yellow, Blue, or Red on the N64!

  7. Kids Club: Play 9 different mini games in a 1-4 mode. Extreme fun!

That is it for the sections and menu. Let's start in the Stadium Cups.

1st, lets begin with the Pika Cup. This is for beginners mostly. Here is some info. on it.

Pika Cup Rules

  • Enter with six Pokémon

  • Choose three out of six Pokémon

  • Levels 15 to 20

  • Maximum three-Pokémon level total 50

  • No two Pokémon asleep or frozen

  • MEW can't attend

  • Get a CONTINUE for a perfect match

  • No SELFDESTRUCT move with last Pokémon

(Thanks to Gyro for this information!)

Now, let me show you how you can get rid of the 1st trainers to take you on.

ROUND 1: BOULDER BADGE

This trainer uses Nidorina, Ekans, Venonat, Butterfree, Kakuna, and Paras.

Suggested Types to use: Fire, Psychic

From what I have seen, the trainer starts out with 2 Bug and 1 Poison. Balance it out and use 2 Fire and 1 Psychic for a sure victory!

ROUND 2: CASCADE BADGE

This trainer uses Pidgeotto, Farfetch'D, Bellsprout, Ivysaur, Zubat, and Geodude.

Suggested Types to use: Psychic, Electric, Water

It is really up to you if you want to start out with a Psychic or Electric Pokémon. Psychic for Poison Types, Electric for Zubat and birds, and Water for Geodude.

ROUND 3: THUNDER BADGE

This trainer uses Poliwhirl, Wartortle, Magicarp, Slowpoke, Staryu, and Nidorino.

Suggested Types to use: Electric, Psychic

Only 1 Poison type, rest are Water. Should be a easy battle.

ROUND 4: RAINBOW BADGE

This trainer uses Ninetales, Growlithe, Sandshrew, Drowzee, Charmeleon, and Vulpix.

Suggested Types: Water, Bug

Water will wipe out the Fire Types, while the Bug Type knocks out that Drowzee.

ROUND 5: SOUL BADGE

This trainer uses Voltorb, Magnemite, Porygon, Mankey, Kingler, and Raichu.

Suggested Types: Rock or Ground, Psychic, Electric

Voltorb, Raichu, and Magnemite are helpless against the Rock/Ground types. Kingler is nothing with
a Electric guy against him and Mankey is a wimp against a Psychic. Porygon isn't a big problem.

ROUND 6: MARSH BADGE

This trainer uses Rhyhorn, Wigglytuff, Kadabra, Machop, Seadra, and Gastly.

Suggested Types: Water, Electric, Psychic

I would start off with a Psychic to knock out Gastly and/or Machop. Electric against Seadra beats him badly, and Water will make Rhyhorn nothing. Kadabra and Wigglytuff could be a problem if they aren't taken care of in a fast manner.

ROUND 7: VOLCANO BADGE

This trainer uses Gyarados, Mr. Mime, Arcanine, Tentacruel, Dewgong, and Meowth.

Suggested Types: Electric, Water

Electric will make short work of Gyarados, also against Dewgong and Tentacruel. Water will wipe out Arcanine. Mr. Mime and Meowth are up to you.

ROUND 8: EARTH BADGE

This trainer uses Dragonair, Slowbro, Clefable, Tentacool, Raticate, and Golduck.

Suggested Types: Electric, Ice

Ice will give Dragonair the cold shoulder, while the rest should be shocked with Electricity.
