About Pokemon
What Is Pokemon?
What is Pokemon you ask me. Well, the answer is: You should know!!! Pokemon is very popular, and has been around in America for over one year. Now do you get why I say that you should know? Anyway, for the ones who don't know, this is your best resource. Pokemon stands for the words, Pocket Monster. But the weird thing is, people in Japan say Pokemon in English, which is Pocket Monsters. And we say Pokemon in Japanese, which is Pokemon. Pokemon is not only a TV Show, it is not only a video game, it is not only a card game, it is not only action figures, and it is not only comic books. Oops, I said everything there is on Pokemon already. Well, one more thing I forgot to add in. It is, Pokemon is something that makes everyone want to capture one!!!
How Pokemon Started
Satoshi Tajiri. Those were the words that got Pokemon started. Actually, Satoshi Tajiri is the (wise) guy who invented Pokemon.
Pocket Monsters, Pokemon, don't you wonder how this dude ever thought of the name? Well, no one knows. When Satoshi Tajiri was just a kid, he collected bugs where ever he went. In the forest, on the sidewalks, and a lot more places. Kids at school made fun of him, since collecting bugs, well, it isn't what I would want to do. He ignored them for years, and then the idea of Pokemon hit him. He drew sketches of them, and created a comic book out of it. He wanted to share the idea of collecting bugs, but in a different world. After that, Satoshi Tajiri decided to make Pokemon Red/Blue on Game Boy, and it turned out to be a hit. So then came the cartoon, and some Pokemon TCG. Pokemon became a huge thing, and mostly all the kids loved it. Believe it or not, there is a street in Japan thats dedicated to Pokemon, where you can find everything on Pokemon.
In the Japanese Pokemon things, Ash's name is actually "Satoshi", that is the creator's name too. And where he used to collect bugs, the forests are "Viridian Forest", and the towns are like the places where he used to get bugs.
And that is how Pokemon started.
