Yes, I know you hate them, but due to the confusion that Pern has been having lately I figured that I had best make some rules.
Basic Rules
No swearing or profanity.
No sexual behavior or we'll send you into between permanently. Kissing and
hugging are fine - just nothing graphic.
Be kind to all others, and no fighting... however, you can be aggressive
over flights.
Be active - check the boards every time you're online!
Have fun! And if you have a question don't hesitate to ask.
Game Rules
You gotta join on the joining board now, no more joining at clutches.
You must go to a Hold or Hall first, unless there is a clutch at a Weyr. If there is, you may join as a Candidate at that Weyr.
If you have an OOC post, please post it at the Wire. Do NOT post OOC things
on any RPing board!
During flights Queens choose the bronze, or greens choose the brown or
blue.
Don't complain about what color you Impress, if Pern was real... all people
would be THRILLED to have ANY dragon! If you complain I can just as easily
delete the post and you won't Impress at all.
Listen to the Weyrleaders, Ginny and S'sha in particular.
Listening to Holders is also good but Ginny and Werin are good for Hold
problems.
Hall problems, talk with your respective MasterCraftsman.
You cannot Impress more than six flits per character.
You cannot join with a flit unless you are approved as a MasterCrafter or Journeyman Crafter.
If joining Dolphin Hall, do not join with a dolphin. You'll go to Dolphin Hall and be trained for a while, before being 'assigned' a dolphin from the local pod.
Send me suggestions and comments! I love to hear from you! (Just don't send
me stuff about S'sha's name... Kylith called Sasha that once and
the name stuck. So no girls will be having honorifics in their names.)
Last but not Least... HAVE FUN! I know I said this before but I'm
saying it again because honestly I really care about this rule the most.
OOC Notes
A few things. This is a mature RPG. Not meaning nasty, but I expect you to
behave and not cause ridiculous trouble - especially at flights! I suggest
no one younger than 12 or so (unless you're gifted) join.
Please, when you post, check for spelling errors, typos, and grammar. Please!
And, if you're going to use HTML, you had better close your tags! If you
don't know what I mean, you have no business using HTML.
Stay active!!!!! Notify me if you're going to go on vacation, or otherwise
won't be able to post. I'll have occasional active checks.
It's a habit for, when OOC, the Weyrwomen to sign things as their Weyr's
name. (i.e. S'sha signs as Igen, Ginny signs as Benden, etc)
And, most of all, if you haven't read Pern (and don't have someone helping
you who HAS read the books) I strongly discourage you from joining. At least
read one of the books, to get a grasp of the basics. The finer details come
with experience.
History
It is FAR in the future of Pern. The dragonriders' ways have been abandoned. There is supposedly none left. But one day a craftwoman named Ginny and her good friend Keith find two dragon eggs. They decide to take the eggs to the hatching sand at the old deserted weyr, Benden. When the eggs hatch a gold dragon and a bronze dragon are born. Ginny impresses the young queen, Areyeth, and Keith impresses the young bronze, Quereth. They raise the dragons and many things happen...
This was several years ago, and now most of the Weyrs are inhabited, although not at full-strength. The Holds, and Halls are up and running, as well. Thread has arrived, and is falling once more. Now is a time of trial, when no living dragonrider has the experience of fighting Thread, when the Holders disrespect the riders and there are wanderers outside the safety of stone walls....
Guide~ It's an excellent idea to click here and read about what your char can join as. This provides some basic guidelines and rules on joining accessories (flits, dolphins, etc.) as well. Good idea to read it!
OOC~ This story is set far, far in the future. After the Red Star was knocked off course. Many years afterward, it was knocked back on course by a passing asteroid, and now threatens Pern once more.
Are you up for the challenge?
