"Dr. Fering told me that there are two kinds of people who don't talk much. One kind likes to keep quiet and think about nothing good; the other kind of person knows not to say much because he is always thinking and his actions will be based on his thoughts and experiences."

     D is a Dhampire,  the offspring of a human and a Vampire.  D is the son of Count Dracula, the ancestor of all vampires. D is the greatest of the vampire hunters, due mainly to his intimate knowledge of them and his supernatural abilities.  He is driven to correct the wrongs of society because he places the  responsibility for them on himself and his heritage. I also personally believe from watching the movie that Count Dracula had wished for things to be different between humans and vampires than they had become and that D is trying to fulfill his father's wishes.  D distances himself from vampires and humans because of his mixed blood and has become a wandering hero looking for peace.  D also has a being living in his hand who acts as D's reminder of who and what he is.  D wears an all black ensemble composed of a wide brimmed hat, a long, flowing cape,  a tunic, and leggings. D is armed with a long katana-like sword. Also, his hand and his vampire instincts kick in when he is in trouble as defense mechanisms.
