Combat Rules

First we will go over who goes first. All attacks occur simultaneously, so you both put down your attacks and I play them together.

Next, you state the weapon you are using, and the damage the attack does. The ref will roll dice to see if you hit. If the ref says the attack hits. The ref with then calculate the apropriate damage, and then vice versa for your opponents attack.

To determine damage of a ranged weapon, you take the DF multiplied by the Weapons attribute. The final number is the damage you did to your opponent.

To determine damage for a melee weapon, you take your Fighting ability and add it to your Power ability. After this is done, you divide the number by 2, this is your total melee ability. Then you take the weapons DF, and multiply it by total melee ability. This is the total damage you can do to your opponent.

This is the way that combat flows. If you cooperate and don't complain, the battle should move right along, and should stay interesting.

I am basing combat in this rpg on a THACO system. For you curious people, THACO means: To Hit Armor Class Of. You will also be using AC which means: Armor Class. For those of you who don't understand, I will post your THACO and AC in the barracks when you join. After you fight in a couple of battles, you will figure it out, and wonder why you thought it was so difficult in the first place.

To figure out if someone hits, you take the attackers THACO. Then you subtract the defenders AC. This number is the number the attacker must roll over, with two six-sided dice, to hit his or her opponent. It really isn't that difficult, here is a small example.

Attackers THACO=18, subtracting Defenders AC=10 equals 8

18-10=8

So the attacker must roll an eight, or higher with two six-sided dice to hit his opponent.

If you are still a little confused on any of the rules. Post your question on the message board or e-mail me. Good Luck, and I'll seeya on the battlefield.
