Dec 2001 - "Here we go!"
|
|
[SUN]
Nothing much, really. Went to church for communion.
Had a boring speaker. Wanted to follow Auntie Dorcas to
a book fair but she didn't want to go. So, I went with
Mom, Jing, Min Ho and San San to Low Yat Plaza to repair
the computer. The shop had changed owners, but he still
did repairs for us anyway. Later, we also went to a nearby
Jukebox shoe shop to buy a pair of sandals. Came back
by 6. At night, just lazed about. [MON] Went to
see the doctor. A throat infection before the camp? Damn.
Went to work late, reached there during lunch time. Didn't
do nothing much there today, Hisham was busy. Mom wanted
me to start packing today, but I put it off. [TUE]
The guys printed out the hard copy to send to Hisham.
I also got another assignment with Nazleen, dealing with
parents choosing career paths for their kids. Started
packing, and bought batteries, medicated oil and stuff
for the trip. Couldn't really sleep, but fell asleep anyway.

Dec 2001 - "BRATs Belum Adventure Pt 1"
|
|
[WED]
Woke up at 5.40am. Went to bathe but just stood there
thinking. Came out of the toilet about 6. Left with father
at 6.15. Reached the old Star Offices at about 6.45. First
Kijalian I saw there was Wen Guay. He was the first to
reach there at 6.30, as he said. Later Derek came, and
then the rest ie Vinod, Matt Wong and Matt Hoo. I also
discovered that I forgot to bring my tag!!! Damn. Alan
was damn happy about it (sadist!) but we soon got along.
We boarded to blue bus kilang, and we left north for Belum
Valley. Halfway to Ipoh, the bus tire blew and set us
back an hour. We got to know each other at the pit stop,
but we were delayed half an hour. At Ipoh, we picked up
more BRATs, especially two brats who were dressed to kill
(insert wolf whistle). Later, another bus tire blew! The
bus continued on, but as it went, another tire blew! Great...
We were set back 3 hours... we were supposed to reach
campsite at 1 but we reached the place at 4.30. There
was a boat ride to the campsite, and as soon as we reached
there, we got to our longhouses and dumped out bags. We
then went for a water safety and confidence training.
We also learnt one technique of saving people. Bathed
in the communal baths with shorts on... Later that night,
there was a lecture on Belum Valley by our guide, Mr.
Mokhtar. There was supposed to be a night walk, but we
were tired. Slept at 11 something.

Dec 2001 - "BBA Pt 2"
|
|
[THU]
Woke up at 7.30am. Brushed my teeth, rinsed my exposed
body. Discovered that it was too cold for clothes to dry
at night. In the morning there was a jungle trek. I've
never been to a jungle trek this bad. We took a boat ride
to the site, and started walking. Our guide, Mr. Mokhtar
identified tracks of animals on the trek path which was
also an animal highway. He said we were lucky as we saw
tiger tracks. After an hour of trekking, we came to the
salt lick. It was a muddy place, and there was an mound
of ground with one side dug by animals. Another short
trek and we were at the the dry lick, a small cave on
the side of a small hill. We then trekked out and went
back to camp. Got my first leech bite. Lunch was okay
I guess. After lunch, we went rafting. John, the camp
coordinator told us how to paddle the rafts. The rafts
were made of 7-8 16-feet-long bamboo sticks. My partner
was Petrina, who was rather heavy so there were only two
on my raft, rather than the usual three. The paddles we
had were 5 feet long and made of bamboo. They were'nt
thicker than 3 inches. We were doing quite good, actually.
Finally, after 2 and a half hours of rafting, they decided
to tow us back because we wouldn't reach our destination,
the rafflesia site. The cord connecting the rafts and
the motorboat snapped twice, but we were soon riding back.
It was nice with water splashing all over the rafts. We
reached base camp at 6.30. The boys wanted to wash up,
but Ju Eng used her position of power to take over the
boys' communal bathroom. Had dinner and an ice-breaking
session. After that, Ju Eng had a Q-and-A session with
us. After that, we broke up into groups to discuss about
our assignments. Spent 1 and a half hours bickering about
how to write the article. Night walk was cancelled again,
due to prospects of rain.

Dec 2001 - "BBA Pt 3"
|
|
[FRI]
Woke up 7.50. Today there another trek ... to the
waterfall and the rafflesia site. Wore the same pants
I wore yesterday to trekking, which was the pants I wore
on Monday which wasn't washed. We saw orang asli settlements
on the way. They had solar panels so I guess they had
a supply of electricity. We trekked for hours, and saw
mushrooms and giant trees in the forest. After that, we
reached the site, which had lots of rafflesia buds from
the size of a ping-pong ball to the size of a small cabbage.
Mr. Mokhtar said that they took nine years to bloom, and
it would bloom for five days only! We were that lucky
to see a 60cm bloom and we all took photos with it. After
that, we backtracked to the river and after lunch there
we bathed in it. Lots of splashing action. What would
a river bathing mean without splashing? The trek back
was only 45 mins, that means before that we trekked hours
to see trees and edible mushroom. Many slept on the boat
ride back to camp. Back at camp, they let us go rafting
and swimming. We rafted in a inlet overlooked by the camp.
Washed up, and had dinner. Lucky Ju Eng didn't occupy
the boys' bathroom. After dinner, they planned to go for
a nightwalk in the jungle on the island of the base camp.
Only 8 of us stayed behind, and we made the decision of
the day: it started to rain heavily minutes after they
left. Anyway, not long after they hurried back and showed
specimens of glow-in-the-dark bacteria. Spent the night
doing the assigment again. A short break in the dining
hall made John tell ghost stories. Vila was so scared
when I accompanied her to the toilet, I had to recite
the Lord's Prayer with her. Slept at about 12 something.

Dec 2001 - "BBA Pt 4"
|
|
[SAT]
Woke up about the usual time. Today there was a visit
to the orang asli settlement. Another boat ride! They
looked like Malays and they were qutie short. The decked
the BRATs with garlands of flowers, sashes of leaves and
leaf crowns. The village had a metal sign (obviously it
was official tourist spot) and several huts were arranged
around a bamboo platform with a roof on top. John &
Mr. Mokhtar told us not to treat them like display objects
(semi-human, and I say, racist) told them not to Our first
activity was dancing. They first showed us a demo, and
then we went up on the bamboo platform. Some parts of
the platform were extremely bouncy and felt like trampolines.
Because of 30 other ppl jumping as well, you couldn't
help but be catapulted upwards. The music was basically
an easy melody made by knocking two lengths of bamboo
on a log. One was longer than the other, so they had a
different tone (physics: turus udara!). After that, they
showed us how to use the blowpipe. It was 7 and a half
feet of one bamboo section. The bamboo was only found
at heights of 4000 feet. They were accurate (or else how'dya
hunt?) and my dart just fell to the floor. They had the
right to live off the land, and they had handicraft to
sell. I talked to some orang asli and then we left. We
came back early and we were given free time. Vila joked
so much she seemed to be drunk (i know the feeling). She
sobered up a little when we poured a bit of water on her.
After that, we prepared for the barbecue. Some went to
look for wood, some looked for bamboo (to cook bamboo
rice aka lemang -- AAARGH), some prepared food and some
stayed back to prepare the barbecue pit. There was a fire-starting
competition between Neo, Jia Yi and Edwin (i think) and
later Wen Guay jumped in the fray. It rained anyway, and
they used solid fuel. They raised a canopy over the fire,
and i helped out with the cooking by becoming waiter (they
cooked 50 pieces of chicken at a time). It rained on and
off, but we cooked anyway. We ate lotsa chicken (there
was too much), burger patties, sausages, mashed potatoes
and pasta salad. After dinner, it was presentation night.
Matt Wong and Villa were MCing, and they introduced the
games, performance and award presenters. I won "Not
A Morning Person" Brat. Damn Neo was a damn horny
Gay-a. Our group lost at our game. Our skit was about
the animal highway. I was an elephant who built a highway
to a salt lick and built a toll too. The animals didn't
want to pay toll, so they were ambushed by Tiger whilst
using the jammed up smaller road. Elephant came to save
the day and destroyed his toll. We then stayed up finishing
our assignments and having fun. Jason could play "Road
Trippin'" and that made my day! I lost one of our
assignments drafts, so I had to write it again. I talked
Karen and Grace, and I sang too. I was sick of playing
cards. John told more ghost stories. You could see the
fright of people not daring to go tho the toilet themselves.
Slept at 4 am.

Dec 2001 - "BBA Pt 5"
|
|
[SUN]
Woke up at 7 something. Breakfast was at eight thirty.
I was so lazy I didn't bother to wash up and brush my
teeth. Started packing up. Gathered my wet clothes and
started to put them back in my bag. I don't know how i
managed to put my sandals in there too. After breakfast,
there was a motivation session. We each got a piece of
paper for ourselves, and everybody was supposed to write
something good for everybody else. I got lots for acting,
and being quiet. Then it was time to leave. I took a few
photos, and then we had a group photo. Another boat ride
back to the highway (or rather, road). I finished rewriting
the assignment on the bus, and the bus twisted and turned
on the winding road, I got motion sickness. I got off
at the nearest stop, went to the washroom, and got something
to drink. At Grik, we ate at a chinese restaurant. One
table "yum seng"-ed and the other followed.
I was at Ju Eng's table, so we just kept quiet. It was
a culture shock coming back to civilization -- not looking
out for cars and the flat pavement felt funny. I slept
about 1/2 the journey and on the bus we took photos, we
talked, we signed autographs for each other. We Althought
we took off sometime in the morning, the ride was not
over even at five. We reached Ipoh about 3/4, and we said
out final goodbyes to Northern BRATS. We reached KL at
about 7.30. I hoped on Lynn's ride which was going back
to Taynton View. I reached home, and unpacked. Washed
my clothes, ate a bit of pau and died on my bed. What
an adventure, what an adventure.

[TUE]
A bit lazy to wake up in the morn. Went to work and
found new stringers!!! My theory is working out fine,
people are coming in every week! Anyway, today at work
I started on the new assignment, the career thing and
I got another assignment, which was a christmas gift ideas.
Finally, some money! I pray I can do a good job. There
were at least 6 newbies, which I got to know 3. Kavita
went to an Afroman phone interview by Su Yin, and got
a Limp Bizkit poster, which she gave to me. Then Innuendo
member Raymee stopped by at NST, so Naz and I interviewed
him for our career assignment. The YQ people received
freebies promo CDs from the Positive Tone guy. I found
out today that Lynn was Eirene's good friend at OBS. Small
world ain't it? Talking about small worlds, I saw Zuliati
on the train to work. I also called up ICT about wanting
to watch Mass Hysteria. Called up James and Eirene too.
Mebbe I will call Caryn along too.

Dec 2001 - "Socialism"
|
|
[WED]
Went to work real late. I hate lunch at Connaught
(damn sick of Indian food) and I collected the booklist
from the school bookshop. Bought "konserto terakhir"
as well. Reach office at about 1.30. Chad was in today,
so I asked him to talk a bit on communism and socialism.
He's took politic science. I also interviewed Naked Breed's
Justin aka Botak for my article on careers. Called up
Caryn, and had a real long talk. I remember telling her
I want her to be my special friend, but I screwed it but
by calling her Eirene instead. Talk about big screw ups.
Getting really horny these days.

[THU]
Woke up late again. Not a morning person. Ate a roti
canai at Al-amal and left to Midvalley to shop for inexpensive
christmas gift ideas. Megamall is HUGELY LARGELY BIG!
compared to KLCC, when you walk a span, its was like,
"that short?" Met Naz at 3.20. Then went to
KL Sentral to meet up with Azura but she said that KL
Sentral were short of staff. Then went to Sg. Wang. Shopped
with Naz a while for her new handphone, but in the end
ended up in MPH until 8.15. Came back, called up a few
people for interviews, and got a few lectures from mom
and dad. I just want to go on the net. Rectified the dating
system on the previous few entries, thanks to Geraldine
for that. I can't wait for my damn BRATs photos. I gave
the negatives to mom yesterday and I can't believe she
hasn't sent them in! Aaurgh!

Dec 2001 - "Urgh, school"
|
|
[FRI]
Went to work reeally late after lunch. Stayed there
for one hour and then went off for the LEO meeting at
Leisure Mall. Couldn't get a bus, so I reached there at
3.45, when everybody left, except for Mun Yew, Gilbert
and Ee Ling. Went to Popular with Ee Ling for a while
to look at some books. Then, went back after that. No
Koinos tonight, called up Caryn for a heart to heart talk.
This is where I screwed up everything. Fool! Told Eirene
how I felt about her.

Dec 2001 - "Max Pain"

I think I finished Max Payne today. Great game. Mother
and father left for Thailand, leaving me and Jing alone.
Eirene thinks of me as a brother???? God, no....

Dec 2001 - "Eirene, you there?"
|
|
[SUN]
Went to church early with Auntie Lookie. So damn grumpy
this morning. Did them PC duty, and then went to youth.
Argh, them lights are so stinging to the eye. Most haphazardly
designed. There's a reason nobody preaches in a pub or
bar or disco, because the ambience is not right. Got the
ushering service organized. Saw Eirene, but didn't talk
to her. Afternoon supposed to go play football, but they
cancelled the match. Went for Steamboat dinner with Ah
Fu and Fei Ma.

Dec 2001 - "dont go means dont go"
|
|
[MON]
I called up office and there was nobody, so I didn't
go to work. Jing & I walked down to get lunch, but
the shops were closed. Had to cook maggi mee. Called Wing
to come, and he did. Played Max Payne the whole afternoon.
Great to have Wing around sometimes. Then at night, we
didn't have anything to eat. So, Fei Ma and Ah Fu brought
us to eat steak at Taman Billion. Later, dropped off at
Alex's place. Supposed to have practice, but Yew Fai didn't
come. Gave back Alex's Papa Roach, and borrowed Limp Bizkit.

[WED]
I hate my day today. Went to Megamall, screwed things
up, said goodbye to the guys, and went back home. At night,
went to Eric Chow's house to practice for the drama for
this Friday. Came back at 12. Caryn called up to invite
me to her birthday outing tomorrow. That's my stint at
NST.

Dec 2001 - "Happy Birthday, CARYN"
|
|
[THU]
Went to KLCC because Caryn called me to go. Saw Rachel
while waiting for the others. There were six of us, ie
me, Caryn, Madeline, Lina, Chia Wei and Raymond. After
lunch at the food court, we went to Kinokuniya and then
to Coffee Bean. We were quite divided, that is Chia Wei
and Raymond tagging along with Lina and me tagging along
with Yean Hui who tagged along with Madeline. The three
of us just spent quite some time chatting about relationships
at Coffee Bean. Hmm... Madeline's in Berimbun, eh? Hugged
Caryn at the end... went back with mom. Sent in the photos
to the shop next to Uncle David's shop. Picked them up
at 9. I'm quite disappointed with the photos. Later, went
to Yew Fai's house to scan the photos. 29 photos - 6.85
megabytes. I had only two diskettes. Yung Hun came over
too. He showed us the photos of his Hong Kong trip. On
the way back, saw Robin and Yin Yee (she's damn irritating...).
I wish I had a digicam... I feel like redesigning this
website. Can't really get my finger on it, hopefully Rachel
will come to my rescue.

Dec 2001 - "Why so cool wan?"
|
|
[FRI]
Woke up at 1pm today. Jing came back from auntie Chow's
place. I had my lunch as soon as possible after a bath.
Got a new toothbrush coz' the toothbrush mom got me from
China was hurting my gums. Jing was busy making jelly
with Kit Yan. I called up Eirene, so that I could spend
some time with her. I showed her the BRATs photos. I watched
most of 'A Knight's Tale' at her house. Wanted to talk,
but apparently she didn't. Eirene's dog is very jealous
and obedient. Tries to attack me unless Eirene treatens
her. She said that she once ordered LambChop to bite Justin
in a quarrel, and he chased Justin all around the room.
I like AhMiao the cat better. I like cats. Coming home,
Justin tagged along on his bike so that he could lend
a mousepad. Then I quickly got 4 floppy disks from my
computer and went to Yew Fai's house to get the remaining
photos. Quickly copied the files while it rained abit,
and went home quickly. Yew Fai was asleep at the time.
Uploaded some of the pix (damn floppies are corrupted)
and then went to bathe. Wore my long-sleeve white shirt
and white tracksuit for angel costume. Jason instead of
Chee Kiong picked me up. Li/Lee Fang was in the car as
well, didn't recoqnize her because she was wearing spectacles.
People at the party were mostly college-goers or graduates,
and the rest of them were Form 3s, thanks to Janice. Suet
Ping doesn't quite look like both her sisters, who look
quite alike. Didn't feel like socializing tonight. Eirene
was at the koinos in her own house, so I mixed with Gary
Yoong. Won the charade game, scored 6 in two minutes,
while the two other teams didn't finish all their cues.
*beams proudly*. Did the angel thing, talked to a few
people, and then left with Jessica. Went home, touched-up
the photos and logged in. Past few nights really spent
a lot of time on the net.

Dec 2001 - "the golddust"
|
|
[SAT]
Woke up at 12.50pm. Don't I have to be at church at
12? BWAAAH! Anyway, I had lunch and rushed to church.
There, I found Deniese, Janice, Elaine and Sue Li! When
I got there at 1.25, they didn't seem to have completed
much work. We decided to make red/green name tags. The
ushers tag would be a star with silver dust. Raymond was
there, cracking his brand of silly jokes which i never
liked anyway. At least he provided us with all of our
needed materials. There were spills of silver dust on
the carpet where we did our work. Calvin, Andrew, Joanna
and Jennifer were there as well. Finished work at about
4. Called mother and father after that to pick me up.
Don't think I did anything tonight, 'cept go on the net.
or play max payne. I remember, i downloaded Ultimate Mod
for Max Payne.. with killer weapons, extended bullet time,
and KUNGFU! Also I downloaded a few more skins for CS.
Sent a lot of mail early morn and tonight too. Wing left
for Penang yesterday.... he said he'd visit Karen. Heh
heh heh... probably up to something.

Dec 2001 - "kazaa"
|
|
[SUN]
Um... woke up 10.30. Played dumb-blur-clueless guy
for 15 minutes before bathing and eating. Picked up Daniel
and reached church at 11.20. Didn't miss a thing. Pastor
prayed for the upcoming Christmas events. I sat there
thinking about things, about uncertainties, about my beliefs.
He was going to torture us with more testimonies about
HUGE camp but luckily we were spared from it. The rest
of the time the youth were practising caroling, but I
didn't participate. My ushers and I finished the nametags.
All that were left to be done was to write names on them.
The caroling practice reminds me of the time when I was
leading the choral speaking team. They seem to be struggling
to give instructions. Don't know why, I feel very negetive
when pastor preaches. Must be backlash from realizing
things... You know you can't do work in the youth hall?
The multi-colored lights made it impossible to read, and
we had to open the door to actually see the actual colour
of our coloured paper. Anyway, we made purple stars with
silver dust trimmings for the committee members. Yew Fai
and Kit Yan followed us home today. Daniel went back himself
with Alex Chong and another Daniel. Can't fit 8 people
into a Wira. Jing and Kit Yan are developing to be fine
young women. Supposed to go to Alex's house for more band
practice but Yew Fai's guitar in servicing. Alex says
drop him. Yew Fai says "yay!" Played more Max
Payne. [[Fooop]] *bullet time* >shootdodge< -blam-blam-blam-bwaargh!
[[fooop]] >reload< -kaclick- Glanced up at the clock,
its 4.50 already? Changed into my YouthForce shirt, and
left for church. Dropped off at Makro as usual. Raymond
was wearing a singlet, being his jovial happy self. I
wonder, beneath that shell is there a soft, quiet reclusive
person? There was a big canopy in front of the church
entrance. William Mok was there early. So I got him to
get all the stuff down. We sat at the signatory counter.
Janice and Sue Li came next. They put up the green youthforce
banner. Elaine came 20 minutes late. People started coming.
There were the ice-breaking session, and then a short
session of caroling under the canopy. Andrew and Jason
were MCing. Rachel came with her friend, John Woo (who
coincidentally looks quite malay but is chinese and does
not direct movies like Face/Off or M:I2). Elaine brought
Marelyn and Marilyn also came. I didn't recognize her,
its been long. Francis came, Annette came back, and surprisingly
there was a Yung Han who luckily does not look like Yung
Hun. It started raining not after long, and people started
moving into the main sanctuary. They had a few more games,
and then they had something to eat. I learnt that Francis
played Max Payne. I told him about the Ultimate Mod V7.
Rachel gave me some work to do, which is to type in the
BK questions. Celine later came. I like her "potongan
badan", althought she's quite diminiuative like Vysia
(eheheh). This is getting real long. After makan, they
had the skit, about what would happen if Jesus was born
in Malaysia. Yew Fai acted as a dumb person, so he got
to do his gibberish in front of people. "gwagyagawabanawaba?"
Then they went caroling around the garden. I wasn't feeling
very cheery at the moment, so I decided to stay back with
Calvin Moy who was too stuffed by the pizza and curry
puff to sing and walk at the same time. It was bordering
to nine at the time they left, so parents started showing
up. They came back about 1/2 an hour. The candles they
brought were actually solid fuel in paper boxes, and some
of the songbooks were minimally burnt. They had the gift
exchange after that. Then they were dismissed. I helped
clean up the place. Joanna brought aerosol party strings
and her sister started spraying it in people's hair and
created a very bad mess. There was golddust from the nametags
all over church. I sat down and talked to Celine after
that. That was memorable... I asked her something in the
line of "Are you a pretty girl?" and then go
on with my intimidated of pretty girls line. The manipulation
of feelings. Then Francis just jumped in. A call came
in soon, and she was talking on the handphone. It was
Yoon Minn (what's he doing calling Celine??? eehehhehe
- *eyebrow twitch*) Francis then took the phone and started
yakking innit until her ride came. At that point, she
was about to leave without her handphone and Francis was
still talking circles with Yoon Minn. Right after that,
I gathered up Yew Fai and Jing and prepared to leave.
But, I lost the BK papers. I found out that Hai Yen took
it. Rats. Went home via parents via MAKRO. Straight away
at home I logged onto the web. Alex Chong was quite fast.
Yew Fai came 15 mins later. He said he bathed. Not like
me. Rachel went online too. Celine and Joanna too. Got
a lot of Ego Boost from Celine and Joanna. I dunno why
I have this gut feeling about praise. Don't accept it.
Don't remember it. Celine said i was "handsome and
cute" when she first saw me. (che....) Fool. Don't
listen, fool. Joanna said "tall dark and handsome
and intelligent too". Don't listen to egoboosting,
fool! You're gonna get addicted! You're gonna let it go
to your head and it will expand full of hot air! I talked
to Joanna and Hui Lynn about Eirene. *cuss and swear*
Joanna told me about her breakup. I guess this is life.
Paul Tan also introduced me to Kazaa, a file sharing utility.
Immeadiately download and got some songs! YESSS... songs....
music.... Went to sleep real late. I'm not going to sleep
this late in a years time already. What a long entry.

Dec 2001 - "paaaarty of three"
|
|
[MON]
Woke up at 12 something. Watched a bit of You're Under
Arrest. This episode was disturbing. There was a transvestite
innit and they were going about real manhood and stuff.
Mother told me yesterday to get my books and Jing's booklist.
Jing also told me mom is going to cook pizza today and
we can call a few friends over. After lunch, I called
up a few friends. Wing was still in Penang, must be watching
them AXN cartoons in somebody's house. In the search for
second hand textbooks, I called up Lim Pei Hwa. I got
the science textbooks from her. And I called up Yoong
Cheng. I got the rest of the textbooks from him. Since
I was so near school, I walked there and obtained the
booklist for Jing. Pn. Yap briefly briefed me about orrientation
day while I was there. I wanted to call Eirene to come
for the pizza, but she wasn't in. I talked to Denvin for
a while. He lent me his Gorillaz CD, his Linkin Park CD,
and his FF8 MP3 CD. Spent the rest of the afternoon listening
to the CDs and ripping tracks. Stopped for a while to
watch them anime cartoons. I like the Sakura Wars theme
song. "Hear the roar of the impact, Imperial Capital
Defence...." Yew Fai came, and Yung Hun came.
I showed Yew Fai my modded CS, and MAX PAYNE. He loves
the game, I knew it. Jing invited Ang Tak Guan (is that
how you spell it?) and Poong. Mom came back about 7 o
clock. We ate pizza, played Neopets games, and more computer.
Played one single game of Chor Tai Ti (long time no play)
and won it, althought got a very bad hand. I downloaded
more songs, played more Max Payne. Everybody went back
before 12, 'cept Poong. I then did my web stuff, bloggin,
restarting the computer over and over again. Its 4.30
now, and I want to get up at 9 to call Hai Yen to tell
her to remind her to bring those BK papers. I love those
new songs, althought some of them are of a bad quality.
"We ain't -- go-in' nowhere -- we ain't -- goin'
nowhere... we can't be stopped now, coz its BAD BOY FOR
LIFE. *yawn* Jing was up at about 3, complaining she couldn't
sleep. Talk about couldn't sleep, I'm up for 2 hours just
writing blogs for 3 days.

up. Jing and Ma kept on knocking on the door from 9 until
9.35. With eyes still squinting, I dragged my lazy ass
over to the bathroom and bathed. Still thinking about
Eirene. Gotta stop that. I like my new toothbrush. Its
very nice to use. Wore the new green shirt mother bought
me from Thailand. Went to church at 10 for Christmas service.
School's coming soon. That's the real max pain. Yew Fai
was controlling the PC display today. Stopped to laugh
at him. Anyway, sat by myself. Mother thought I was going
to youth service. I feel very bad everytime I go to church.
I don't know why. Don't see a reason to be happy. What
does happiness bring? Anyway, the owner of the Royal London
Circus, Paul Lee testified during service how the Lord
healed him of glaucoma, and a few other miraculous works
in his life. There was a fellowship luncheon after service
at the nearby steak house, and I was looking for Hai Yen
all over the place. Jing was looking for Soo Ching. Both
of them went back before we could find them. Mother doesn't
like me very moody. Says I embaress her. We picked up
Eric Tan on the way back. Went for lunch at Loong Yee.
Then came back and died for a while. Woke up at 5.30.
Changed and got ready to go to the Christmas banquet at
Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel. Ah Yee and colleagues of mother
in her kindergarten (Bi Bi and Su Fin) were here with
their colleagues. We left in father's car, while my cousin
picked up the rest of us. We reached there. It was a six-course
dinner. By chance, Alex Chong sat next to me. Ah Hou was
trying to introduce me to some girl. Not feeling very
social these days. During the sermon, I couldn't undestand
a thing, and Alex wasn't catching much of it, so we excused
ourselves to a nearby cybercafe. Got thrashed at CS, scoring
less than 4 frags : 30 deaths. *cries in self pity* Got
back quite late, thanks to Alex's underestimation of the
length of the sermon. Went home, and got on the computer.
Mom gave me some shampoo which I badly needed. Merry Christmas
:) she said. I want to call Caryn and talk to her. Hopefully,
I can manage to get a present for her in time.

[WED]
Yesterday as soon as I came back, I went on the net.
I found Rachel on the net and I chatted with her. Quite
depressed at that time. She called met at 1 and shared
with me. We talked for 2 hours. So nice to have a friend
around. Slept at 3. Woke up real late, about 11.30. I
want to watch more anime. Crud, addicted lar. This is
"dasar penjepunan", via cartoons, GLAY and manga...
everybody wants to speak japanese. Anyway, I was surprised
to see Samurai X on TV. Looks like there was a movie,
but I missed it. Damn. Played Max Payne after that. Went
on and off on the net today. Quite boring, but relaxing.
Its nice to stay at home and just do nothing. Called Caryn
up at about 9pm... she was sleepy. There wasn't anything
to do, so just sleep as well lar. Oh yeah, mom bought
me a new bag. It was grey/khaki. Looks functional with
lots of compartments. Good enough for me. Went shopping
for back to school stuff. Saw Janice and her friend there
(she also goes to church i think, but never got her name).
I also saw Yu Joe, Jonathan and Justin here. These three
are always together. Bought a new pencil box, I choose
a simple zipper type. It was yellow in colour. I dont
know why I did, it just seems natural that my pencilcase
is yellow.

[WED]
Woke up in the middle of the night. About 6 to 7 o'
clock. Surprised to find Min Ho lying on a mattress in
my room. Just lay about for 1/2 an hour and then went
back to sleep. Somehow getting numb with Eirene. I dunno
whether I'm forgetting her or not. Her picture on my desk
is being covered by a plastic cup... that's good. Her
momento's that I collect seem so far away... *sob*. But
that's gone now... woke up at about 11pm. That's about
14 hours sleep. Really can die on the bed. Played more
Max Payne. Showed Min Ho the new kungfu-action Max Payne.
Jing went for her dental appointment today, she had to
extract two teeth for recorrection and braces. Had porridge
for lunch as a result. I cleaned up my room today. I removed
the old books from my cabinet and cleared my desk. Denvin
also came to collect his CDs that I lent from him. Had
a small chat with him. Caryn also called up. How strange...
she doesn't call me up, but she did, so good for me and
good for her. Good. Logged on the net twice, to sent letters
and download songs. Met Walter there, he seemed unsatisfied
with the outing with Caryn and Mady and all on Thursday.
Watched more anime in the evening. Mother came back at
6 and went jogging but it rained. Ate dinner and started
blogging. Ah Fu and Fei Ma came over because they wanted
the extra computer. When I reached there, I assembled
the computer but to my dismay I found out we didn't bring
the keyboard. Can't start up the computer without the
keyboard. So that's it. I'll have to return another day.
On the way back we stopped at a stall nearby to grab some
burgers. It was very popular, and we waited for 30 mins
for the burgers. Min Ho tricked Fei Ma and Ah Fu to Hi
Sours. Hi Sours aren't that sour to me anymore. In the
pajero, I thought of Caryn. Fei Ma gave me and Min Ho
some money to buy from 7-11 but there wasn't anything
worth the money. Came back to the house and ate the burgers.
Got on the computer as soon as possible. Went on the net,
I wanted to continue those Jap lessons. But, the next
lesson is in hiragana, and I need the foreign language
packs, which I couldn't find. But I did find Opera 6,
which is even better than Opera 5 I'm using! There are
mouse gestures now, which is soo cool! I took some time
practising and playing with the mouse buttons and keyboard
shortcuts. I want to get a book for Caryn. I told mother
that I wanted to go to the Summit to the second hand bookshop
there on Saturday. She agreed because she wanted to visit
a friend in the vincinity. Wrote a long letter to Caryn.
Sent a message to James to inform him of Opera 6. Put
the Opera mini-banner on this site. Hmm.. Justin found
a new server for the school website, with FTP access.
Gotta tell our esteemed Ketua Pengawas about Orientation
day. Saw Rachel's desktop also lar... damn chun. Mebbe
I'll put it up for you all to see.

[FRI]
Jing woke me up. She wants to go see LOTR and I'm
supposed to take her along. She wanted to go watch the
12.30 show but it was already 11 o' clock then. Byargh.
So lazy, its so nice to sleep in today. Told her to go
for the 3 o' clock show so that we could eat lunch. Told
her to call in to book tickets. Father offered to drive
us to KLCC. So we hopped into the car off we went. Reached
there 2 o clock, and then started to line up for the tickets.
Jing found a line for telephone bookings, and I was so
impatient waiting at that line. I was worried because
the cinema clock was faster than my watch, and I feared
that "its 2.31. you're too late, there are no more
tickets for you, bwahahahaha!". We did get our tickets,
and we hung out at kinokuniya for a while before going
in. Lord of The Rings isn't such a big disappointmnet.
It has a good sense of story telling, the pace is very
fast. Each scene is handled as quickly as a snap. I think
if they were to do it properly, it would be twice the
length. (they skipped tom bombadil, bwah *cry*!) The cinema
was full even though it was just the first week after
release. I saw Ernie Ezeinee after the show. Gave her
my contax and hopefully comes here. Its so hard promoting
a website. Went back home by LRT. Kacau my sister for
a while on the train. At home, got on the net to check
up on stuff. Downloaded a few screensavers that never
work. I'm addicted to the mouse gestures lar, can't wait
to use it. *hee hee* Looked around at a few other blogs.
Urmh, got a bit -inspired-. Heck, nobody's gonna make
me change this weblog for a long time (i say weblog because
this really ain't a blog). Rachel's gone to Penang (rats),
Caryn doesn't understand and there isn't anyone I can
trust for a new site design.... *exhale*. Maybe I name
the new site design sanity hills. See how my Photoshopping
comes out. Maybe need to scan in a few photos. Tried to
sketch humans but no avail... useless at sketching people.
Gotta call my pengawas tomorrow. Maybe I should join those
web-communities. Donno how. Rachel got into one, and then
she complains. Maybe that's why my hit counter is so low..
no promo. Got a bit dazed after trying to read one of
Rachel's pages which was bright red. Stared away and everything
seemed so blue... Aw heck, don't live for the weblog,
the weblog lives for you. Before bed, saw the full moon
shining into my room. I've forgotten how bright the full
moon can be on a clear night. Ran down to get my binoculars
to look at the moon and certain stars. Thought of Caryn
again. Hmmm... Opened as many windows as I could, and
fell asleep.

Dec 2001 - "cheap stuff"
|

[SAT]
Woke up at about 1.45. That's the latest I ever woke
up this hols. So sad its coming to an end. Ate lunch and
went out at 3 to the Summit in USJ to buy second-hand
books. The trip there was surprisingly fast (stupid taxi
last time cost me RM10) when mummy drove. Father went
for another interview, but he came back surprisingly fast.
There were two second hand bookstores in the Summit, but
Pay Less Books had a better selection. I wanted to buy
the Judo book, but it didn't have the ground moves, so
I decided not to buy it. I bought more Raymond E. Feist
and a book on Sociology, as well as a book about myths
of the world. The Summit was not very populated, but I
couldn't say there was a time when the four of us were
alone. Came back, started on Raymond E. Feist. Started
at 6, but couldn't finish by 10. Rats. I still haven't
called up Iqbal, better get on it tomorrow. If this keeps
up, I will have to do something about it. Had a small
idea for a new weblog design... it'll be hard thought.
Lets see if I'm up to it. Teaching Min Ho how to finish
Max Payne. Hopefully, he finishes it. Ah Yee was here
to eat dinner. I rushed through my dinner anyway. Because
I was preoccupied with my book, Jing was able to start
playing the computer, especially the SimThemePark she
borrowed from Toh. Chatted with Julia, and found out she
read Raymond E. Fiest too! Bwah, I thought I'd never find
another one in Malaysia.

Dec 2001 - "too many pictures"
|
|
[SUN]
Ole' Brats was published today. One effect of staying
too close to the photographer was that you get photographed
too often and chances are those photographs get published!!!
Front page ada, second page ada... etc. etc. Mom went
somewhere today, must be visiting her friend. Min Ho followed
us to church today, and we also had to pick Yew Fai and
Kit Yan up. Pastor Lawrence preached again today. Dunno
why I don't like going to church anymore... just gets
me down. Just not convicted. The bulletin had a glossy
2001 planner... started writing down resolutions. Daniel
didn't go to church today... mother said he went to play
football. After church, ate Ngau Lum Hor Fun for lunch
while reading Raymond E. Fiest. Just kept on reading until
I couldn't read anymore. Wai Wing came in the afternoon
and played Max Payne. He didn't like the kungfu mod. Just
went back to normal. At night, tried to relax, but to
no avail. Played comp until late night again.

[MON]
Woke up too late to watch cartoons. So, just slept trough
lar. Went to school to ask teacher what to do for orientation
day. Wanted to call Eirene to join us for the countdown
at Bintang Walk. She was at the shop. But on the way back
from school, saw her walking back. Asked her, but she
said she was going with her cousins. She seemed very cold
again. That stupid Denvin had to sing, "K-I-S-S-I-N-G"
for us. Talked with him for a while, and then went back.
Made a few calls at home, and then started to get ready.
Wing came at 5, and played Max Payne for a while. He was
wearing white long-sleeve shirt. I was going to wear a
white long-sleeved shirt as well, so I decided to wear
a black shirt over it. But Wing said it looked horrible,
so I just put on my blue hawaii shirt on. Had a bit of
problems finding my wallet, i'm not going to Bukit Bintang
without my IC. Reached the LRT station at 5.45, saw David
Lee and Alex Chan at the LRT station. We went to KLCC
first. Saw the other guys there, they wanted to go watch
a movie, and they already ate. So we met up with David's
friends, Aaron and Nigel, who were his classmates. Ate
at Fish Shop. Then after hanging a while at KLCC ( I don't
like it when they call FUBU ma-chan clothes shop), we
walked to Star Hill. The other guys didn't get to watch
a movie because it was too crowded. (bwahahaha) Went to
KL Plaza first, because we Alex wanted to check out buying
an amp. (finally) Went to Tower Records for the first
time. Then walked around, and finally found a seat at
Starbucks. Had a Starbucks expresso. Saw Wendy and Elley
there. I also saw Voon Siew, Grace Mak and Low Pui San
there too. Talked with Aaron, Nigel and David about TAR
college. The whole night, we were entertained by tenors
(how perfectly boring and un-understandable) So we sat
there from 9-11.30. Then we went out to Jalan Bukit Bintang,
in front of Lot 10. Ferhad performed for 1/2 an hour.
We had the countdown, and then watched the fireworks.
Walked around KL, and then went home by LRT. There were
so many people queueing up to buy tickets, they let people
in without their tickets and asked us to pay after getting
off. Reached home about 1. Went on the net for a while,
and then went to sleep, despise the expresso.

SUMMARY
: YEAR 2001
|
|
It
has been long since I've started on this. So much done
this year, and its flies by so fast. I still don't know
what I want to do with my life, considering if what Ps.
Michael says is true, then there's no reason trying to
succeed. I've won competitions, lost competitions, performed
on stage, did this, did that. Also got depressed, had
lots of fun, screwed up relationships, started relationships,
screwed up my studies, and worked like a mad dog. (A mad
dog does not work very well.) Watched TV, played games,
and learnt life. It has been an eventful year, like years
always are. Quoting once again, "I call myself a
fool thinking about myself 10 years ago. I will call myself
a fool again 10 years in the future."
PEOPLE'S
WHOLE LIVES DO PASS IN FRONT OF THEIR EYES BEFORE THEY
DIE. THE PROCESS IS CALLED 'LIVING'. -- (Terry Pratchett,
The Last Continent)
Happy
new year, people. This will be the last log in this design.
The next log entry should be in a new, improved, knowjian.cjb.net.
