Scheherazade is a shared account; it is shared amoung three avatars, one of whom used to be known as Megret, the founder. Two more avatars were chosen to be the "rest" of Scheherazade primarily due to the tremendous amount of work involved in keeping the herd alive, and the time zones in which they live. Scheherazade has been a shared account since December of 1995.

We do keep an eye and an ear out for people who want to be Hinds. Hind candidates should have lived in DS for at least two years, without changing names. Essentially it's a matter of being recommended by someone who is already a Hind, and being known by the avatars behind Scheherazade. You can leave ESP-mail for Scheherazade to inquire about joining the herd.It takes a minimum of one month before you are likely to know whether or not you are accepted into the Herd. If we have to reject you for some reason, you'll hear from us faster. In other words, no news is very good news. Even when you are accepted, you may be on a waiting list for a period of time.
- How does a Hind choose who gets what item?
A Hind doesn't look inside the gift boxes they are giving. They simply take a box out of a container at random, and give it to someone.- Why haven't I gotten anything from the Hinds?
To receive a gift you can't be a ghost, parked, or have your hands full. In other words, be down on the ground, obviously active, don't have anything in your hands, and don't stay in locales that are continuously full.
